LG K8 V or LG Vista Free with Service Plan

Selectel Wireless is currently offering the LG K8 V or the LG Vista for free with the purchase of 1 month of their $50 plan which runs on Verizon’s network and includes 10GB of high speed data and then unlimited slower data. I was able to place an order for the a phone without buying the $50 plan.
MOD NOTE: Terms require service plan, posters report getting phone without. However, some members of our community have questioned the security of this website and urge caution that it may be a phishing scam.

Their website is using an expired https certificate. I wonder if it got hacked and this is a phishing scam.

I don’t think there’s any chance my order’ll be filled, but I’m in for one. FOMO on potentially the best cellphone deal evar, I guess.

@juicer Might be whitelisted for use on RedPocket’s Verizon towers, but that’s not a given. And it’s almost certain it won’t work on their other towers.

FWIW, the LG Vista appears to be sold out. The LG K8 V still shows as available, though.

Not yet but I only ordered yesterday. I’m beginning to wonder if orders will be fulfilled because they didn’t request a credit card at checkout, which would make more sense if we’re required to purchase a $50 service plan for 1 month to get the free phone (even if we weren’t charged until we activiate the phone).

Nothing after acknowledgment of order for my order without the prepaid service card. Order acknowledged and shipped for the order I placed with the prepaid service card. Plan to not activate the sim or service card and sell service card at a loss and end up with the phone for around $15.

@jtownsucks46 so will the phone be unlocked at that point or are the ebay sellers for cheap unlock?
