Earn 5% Cashback at WALMART B&M with Discover Card to 12/31 (see post)

Discover card is offering 5% CB (with activation) at Amazon.com and Warehouse Clubs during the 4th Qtr (up to $1500 in purchases total).
I was pleasantly surprised a Walmart charge made the other day in store classifed as “WAREHOUSE CLUB” in the description. This would apply to all charges made there, including groceries and gift cards.

Supercenter stores are not crediting the 5% for me. Regular stores are crediting.

Any confirmation that you actually earned 5%? My experience is that the category listed on the transaction is not a reliable indicator of how it qualifies for rewards.

no way to know until my bill drops, and that’s not for another 10 days.

If you’re a Sam’s Club member, a simple way to get 5% CB with this offer is to purchase Sam’s Club GC’s. Those are usable at both Sam’s and Wally. Those GC’s then make purchases at all WM’s (regular, super-center, neighborhood market, gas station, etc.) 5% CB.
EDIT: The above assumes that Sam’s Club accepts Discover, which according to this link, it does.

Discover looks good for my Walmart. I’ll have to wait for the statement to confirm. Does not work with Chase Freedom.

Even though my transaction was posted to Discover as warehouse/wholesale club, it earned only 1%, not 5%.
