I think Staples should have a fee-free Visa/MC offer in the next 2.5 months.

Check if you got a $5 when you spend $25 at U.S. office supply stores too.
Will stack (you can see the office supply store addresses for Staples in the amex offer, but a lot of the other addresses besides Office Depot/Staples aren’t real office supply stores)

many accounts also have a ‘earn double membership rewards’ at Staples offer to clip. can potentially triple dip if you have all 3 offers.

Has anyone done a split tender at Staples? I’d like to pay for $40 with Amex and the remainder with Chase Ink.

Yes it’s do-able (I once split tender a Visa/MC GC purchase across 4 cards) but I had one store mgr claim that if any of the tender splits fail to authorize, there’d be no refund of the GC (I had enough cash on me to cover the entire purchase, if need be). None of the cards failed to authorize, so the split tender worked fine.I’ve also done split tenders across 2 cards several times.

There was a purchase which I tried to split the payment. The cashier did not do it correctly, so the full amount went through.

I tried to use two different ccs but the order went through for the entire $200 on the first card I inserted. It is possible I had a senior moment…

Are you saying that you might have forgotten to tell the cashier to charge only $40 for the first card?
If the cashier lets me, I’m planning to pay the first $160 with prepaid cards, and then the remaining $40 with Amex.

I did place the first 160 on chase ink and then swiped the amex for the 40 but when I got home I saw the receipt took all 200 off of the visa.

@juicer well at least you can try again. It would have been worse if they charged the whole thing to your Amex.

Tried again and the manager explained the cashier yesterday made an error.
Mixing 2 forms of payment works as others described. Glad to know it wasn’t a senior moment.

Just a heads up that I purchased a $50 Amazon GC today in store and all the 3 offers hit:
Double amex points
$10/40 Staples
$5/25 any office supplyTherefore, pretty much any gift card works, they also have Ebay, many other popular retailers B&M/Online and of course Staples GC.
