Thanks, the ATM withdrawal might be a simpler way to go. Chase Freedom 5% for Q1 2019 includes drugstores, so that should serve to defer the fee and increase the MM of the deal.

Yes, gift card spending on cards such as these do count and will give you Wellness status points. I am already at 2,200 points for this year on both of my cards. so I am going to wait until tomorrow or Wednesday to purchase. Plus, as always, if you buy this card )or any gift card) in the same transaction you are using coupons, the register will let you pay with Bonus Cash up to the amount of the coupons used in the transaction. Just by buying this one card and loading it for $200 and buying it tomorrow or later will get you one-fifth of the way to Gold for 2020 already, assuming the status levels survive that long

Get a $200 card, pay $202.95, earn $20BC. You can combine cards online for free. There’s a daily ATM withdrawal limit if $400. It will cost $1.95 for withdrawal or $0.50 for a debit/credit transaction.
Here’s the trick.
Buy 2 cards on 2 different Wellness+ cards. Pay $202.95 for one and $204.90 for the other so you’ll get a $200 card and a $201.95 card. Combine the two cards online with no fee and you’ll end up with $401.95. Go to one of the Moneypass ATMs (should be widely available. Look on the website to find nearest one to you). Get $400 cash from ATM and empty the card.
Total cost: $407.85 for purchase.

You’ll also get points towards GOLD if you still need points.As for me, I will just prepay a utility bill. It is best to use it all up in one transaction as there is a 50 cent transaction fee. So you need to charge $199.50 to zero out the card. Also, this is not the type of card you want to keep in your sock drawer. After 3 months of inactivity, there is a hefty $3.95 monthly charge assessed to your card and will take away from the balance until it hits zero.
You do have to give give them your SS# to create an account in order to combine, reload, or use at ATM. You can activate your card with just creating a PIN and give them just your zip code, but then the card can only be used as a debit/credit/online without the ability to withdraw cash, combine, reload, and possibly dispute a transaction or other protections I.e. if you lose your card or it was stolen,etc.
Certainly if you just want to activate the card (which you need to at least do prior to using it) and burn it all up by paying bills or buying a gift card etc. then that would be an easier route to do.Just make sure you do it in one transaction to minimize the fee or otherwise, there’s a 50 cents fee per transaction

Scored these today on 75% off clearance, really nice tins, 17oz of nuts inc pistachios (shelled), cashews, almonds and peanuts.

I saw small bags (forget how many ounces) of Planters chocolate covered walnuts. I priced checked them and they wanted $7.99 full price (ouch!), so $1.99 after 75% off. I passed. I like what you got though, MC, but I didn’t see any at the 3 stores I visited today. I will be back out so I will be on the lookout for it.
I did get 47 cent 7 oz renuzit Scent Swirls aiir freshener gel cones in Christmassy scents (winter apple, cinnamon, and spiced crenberry for one and the other Sugar Plum, Snowflake, and Purple Blossom).
I splurged and got the deluxe box of As Seen on TV Magic Tracks that comes with two remote controlled cards. Usually an overpriced $49.99, but only $12.49 after 75% off. I also got small 3 oz bags of Keebler Pecan Sandies cookies. They are a dollar item usually, but had a 50 cent freshnes sticker on them, so only 30 cents each w/ gold and will earn me some KFR points.

I was most pleased with the pet beds ($2.49 ea) and tall salt grinders with Himalayan pink salt. Had to toss in a few extras to be able to use $5/$20 catalina Q. Store has the Planters 3 packs on clearance as well but I stocked up on those on BF.

Overage from Manu Q’s should work, but overage that attaches to RA coupons might not. that’s my best guess. YMMV of course.

Just confirming through personal experience that you cannot buy the MyVanilla Visa using a credit card. I tried and it looks like it is working, but then the cashier got a message on her screen saying something like this product is not eligible to pay for with a credit card. The cashier let me try to pay with credit to see if it would work, but the registers are hard wired not to accept credit cards anymore for these types of prepaid cards. I wonder if you can pay for other types of gift cards with a credit card, like gift cards to department stores or restaurants?

I have been able to purchase Home Depot and restaurant cards with credit in the past.

@fulltimedad Rite Aid’s policy is (and has been for a couple of years) that you have to pay for variable load cards with cash. That applies to cards like prepaid MC, Green Dot, etc. It does not apply to variable load 3rd party e.g. a variable load Home Depot gc. It does not apply to e.g. a $25 prepaid Visa which is a fixed amount. They put up signs about this a few years ago but the policy is now so old there may no longer be signs.

One very important thing to note on your ATM drain idea for the Visa.
Domestic ATM Cash Withdrawal Fee $1.95
Assessed each time the Card is used to obtain cash from an ATM located in the United States. The ATM owner may charge an additional fee for each transaction.Unless you can find an ATM that charges no additional fee for this, it becomes problematic as you won’t be able to withdraw $200 if there’s another $4 service assessed by the ATM owner.
Do you have a list a no-fee ATM’s that service these Vanilla cards?
Also note: ATM Transaction Decline Fee $0.75

Hi, MC. Yes, the.website requires birthdate and SS#. Just call the toll- free number on the back of the card and have them activate it over the phone. They will also want you to give them your SS#, but just tell them you don’t want to give it and they will still activate it for you, but you just won’t be able to reload it or have ATM privileges. I bought two Visas yesterday and have already used both of them up by prepaying my cable Internet bill 199.50 x 2.

Centrum, Werthers, Russell Stover, Cheerios, ErmergenC, Folgers, and Breathe Right all scanned. Also when you save the digital WW coupon and also use a paper WW coupon they BOTH come off. So the WW coupon double dip is still alive and kicking. You can also use a manufacturer’s coupon. As a reminder for the MMs, remember to have enough other products in your order to absorb the overage.

I noticed that too. Only 2 Ocuvites per store. That said, I love my local Rite Aid store. I walk in with my brother at about 9:45 am. My fave, extremely coupon friendly cashier sees me looking around at the front of the store. She asks me if I am looking for the Senior coupons. I said, “Yes”. She hands me 5 of them and says if I need more just let her know. I tell her 5 will be more than enough.
I used my overage to buy $1 Suave shampoo after in-ad coupon and I got some clearance Hershey Kisses bagged candy. I did the two biggest MMs - Centrum and Ocuvite. I may go back later and get some of the lesser MMs, like Cheerios and the Russell Stove SF candy. I really love the Senior coupon double dip. Really cool getting all that money off, especially when coupled with a manufacturer coupon and/or Savingstar, too! Too bad you can only get one set of digital Senior coupons per card.
By the way, if you don’t want your Centrum coupon to beep, Centrum SILVER in the box is the one to buy.

One very important thing to note on your ATM drain idea for the Visa.
Domestic ATM Cash Withdrawal Fee $1.95
Assessed each time the Card is used to obtain cash from an ATM located in the United States. The ATM owner may charge an additional fee for each transaction.Unless you can find an ATM that charges no additional fee for this, it becomes problematic as you won’t be able to withdraw $200 if there’s another $4 service assessed by the ATM owner.
Do you have a list a no-fee ATM’s that service these Vanilla cards?
Also note: ATM Transaction Decline Fee $0.75

Personally, I think the safest bet is just to prepay a utility for $199.50 and be done with them. That’s what I did with mine.

Is everyone seeing the credit for the $200 My Vanilla Visa? The cashier goofed up my transaction and didn’t scan my bonus card, then re-rang with my card scanned, but there is no credit for the $200 spending. I don’t know if customer service will credit or if I am just out of luck.

Yes, I got the Bonus Cash and Wellness points for my MyVanilla purchases. I am at 287 points on my cards and we are only 4 days into the new year. Nearly 29% on the way to Gold in 2020, should status levels still exist then. The MyVanilla offers are great MMs. I wish they would have offers more often.

if you have your receipt, shouldn’t be an issue. just give them the transaction info off the receipt. they can credit you the spend points.

Wowsers. Ouch! I guess another good reason not to stockpile Bonus Cash. That said, I like Rite Aid. It is my favorite drugstore chain and has been very generous to me over the years/ I hope they survive or else where will turn for deals?

Is buy $200 MyVanilla Visa card, get $20 BC regional? I don’t see the offer in the weekly for the Orange County, CA area. In the store, the tag said 1000 pts when buying $100 MyVanilla Visa card.
