Verizon FIOS starts today

Moving this to hot deals BTW due the value (cost of movie rentals can easily exceed $10, especially if you load up your DVR).

FW always kept these in FS, not HD. Reason being the value of the premium service, prorated to the number of days you have access, is actually less than $10. MrsG posted an On Demand marathon for FIOS customers https://phatwalletforums.com/topic/2226/verizon-fios-free-on-demand-marathon-nov-10-20 , that includes free movie rentals of select films, in this forum. That one would probably have been mirrored in FW, because FIOS rentals are $5 each.

Anyone know about Uverse?

I appreciate the points you made but IMHO, if you have to spend money to get it (i.e., be a subscriber), it is not a true freebie, in addition to the reasons I previously stated. Being able to mirror threads would be ideal, but this feature is not yet available here. In lieu of mirroring, I’ll leave this thread here in HD and mention this thread in MrsG’s FS thread that you linked, that way both posts will be somewhat represented in both forums.

Your reasoning applies even more to MrsG’s thread, you have to be a subscriber to FIOS to get the On Demand freebies. If you watch just 2 free movies available, you’ve watched the value of $10, as most movies available through On Demand are at least $5 normally. If you load up your VCR with free On Demand content, the value easily exceeds the $10 threshold. If you’re going to move one, then you should move both, as the same criteria applies.
Most here came from FW, and FrugalFreak has pretty much used FW FAQ’s. MrsG & I went by FW FAQ & mod policy there. I believe the reason FW left them in FS, is that you aren’t putting out any additional money. FW followed a similar policy for Netflix & Hulu. Perhaps staff should discuss this and decide where they belong, & add it to the FAQ?

I haven’t found anything about Uverse, but often when one service offers this, they all do. Try going to the channels and On Demand, see if you have access, post back if you do. You can also check Uverse’s page at FreePreview to see if it gets added, https://www.freepreview.tv/tag/att-u-verse I see that Uverse participated with the Epix promo in Oct, and an earlier HBO/MAX one in Sept.
