AMC Theatres has 'substantial doubt' it can remain in business

@mistercheap This is all my fault for accumulating a bunch of passes for AMC and paying up my AMCstubs until 2025. Whenever I get a whole bunch of something, I end up not being able to use it.

I don’t think any of us could see this coming, so don’t beat yourself up. Perhaps they’ll declare bankruptcy and reorganize, close some locations. keep others open, who knows. It sucks to get stuck with gift cards, memberships, passes, etc when an outfit goes belly up.
I have about $44 in Ruby Tuesday GC’s and my main reason for buying them (originally $90 worth for about $69 at Sam’s Club) was to go for their salad bar deals. Now, I don’t think we’ll be seeing anymore salad bars or buffets as we knew them and not sure if they’ll remain in biz or not, but I’ll be force to spend them on stuff there I wasn’t planning on eating which is still better than a total loss I guess, but even that remains to be seen. Ruby Tuesday as a chain wasn’t in the best shape even before the pandemic.

@mistercheap It’s interesting to see what comes out of this. There were a lot of businesses that started in the 1980s for reasons that escape me, but I can see a lot more new businesses starting in the wake of covid and a lot of established institutions going belly up.
