Anyone here try this successfully? Does any sort of message appear at checkout to indicate the purchase qualifies?

This is a good deal and still valid. I had to contact customer service via chat, as I never received the email about the credit for a future purchase, and got the $10 promo credit manually applied. The end result for me was two pairs of cargo shorts and a 3-pack of dress socks for a net of about $15.
