Is there reason to be skeptical of the safety/effectiveness of these low priced masks? I have no idea what was the typical cost of disposable 3 ply masks before Covid-19 hit. In April I was paying $1.50 for one of these (one mask, not one box!) at Wegmans, so this is a crazy price difference. Are these current low prices merely a reflection of supply finally catching up to demand?

These low price leaders all have low ratings and long delivery time.
On eBay, search for “face mask 3 ply 50” and select “US Only”. Around $4 from sellers with >99% rating.

Follow up on my purchase:
Delivery was very quick. Mask quality is good. BUT - I got two plastic bags of 10 masks each!!! According the ad it was a box of 50 and I ordered two. So I’m short 80 masks!
Recent feedbacks show that seller is sending 10 instead of 50 to all buyers and looks like most are just leaving poor reviews and let it slide.
I complained to Amazon and was told they would look into his store. And have so far exchanged 6 emails with seller. First he said they were so inexpensive that even 10 is a deal. Then he offered 50% refund. Then 60%. (I only paid 30c/pack, the rest was shipping and tax so refund would be irrelevant) Now he agreed to ship the missing masks but without tracking info so I’ll give him another month or two…
I’m surprised that he can continue selling on Amazon with such gross false advertising!
