Going to start this thread so it is independent of the Flavor Adventure Game “Instant Win” thread as the game ends prior to the end of many of the coupon/digital prizes.
Please be sure to first state the NAME of the store FIRST in any post so people shopping at other chains aren’t wasting their time as sales and clearances vary from chain to chain in any given sales week.
The ‘rewards’ ie 6 rewards you may have won for playing once redeemed will expire at the end of the following month. In my case I redeemed them all on all accounts to avoid losing any and all expire on 7/31 vs 8/31 for the game wins like $15/15 meat.

ACME week of 6/23-29
If you clipped the .75 off the 32oz ready to eat baby carrots coupon, they are on sale for $1.99 or $1.24 after the Q (great deal, 2lbs) produce dep’t
Store brand Salt (regular or iodized) $1.19 a canister, the $1/1 spice coupon works on these, .19 for salt. should be all chains.

I’m not so sure, I earned the rewards PRIOR to getting the FP sign up offer. Even after I signed up it showed “Clip by 6/22” on my rewards offers for $3/3 produce, $7/7 meat, etc. I simply wasn’t going to risk it. and I have until 7/31 to use them. So I’ll work on depleting these smaller ones first prior to the large $15/15 ones.

Without FP, you have until 7/31 to redeem the reward points for grocery coupons or gas discount. With FP, you can keep the reward points in the account as long as you have the FP membership. This has nothing to do with the clip by dates, nor the expiration dates of redeemed coupons.

OK, maybe so, but wasn’t in any mood to find out, as 6/22 was approaching and I just went and clipped them. They won’t go to waste.

If you go back to the reward redemption page, you’ll find the same coupons are now clippable until 6/30. Unless they change the coupon offers, a clip by date such as 6/22 means it can be clipped once a week. Other coupons are once a month.

No, some of my coupons had 6/22 and others had 6/30 dates, this was last Weds. And these were the ‘rewards’ winnings offers from winning them on the instant win game. ie, $3/3 produce for 2 rewards showed a clip by date of 6/22. Even if it rolled over to 6/30 or 6/29 this week, the exp date would be the same, 7/31, end of the following month.

You only see them when you have rewards to redeem and I haven’t had rewards to redeem in years, so all the power to you for understanding their system, but as a novice with these, I simply was not willing to roll the dice. And all of them will be used so there’s nothing lost in the process.

That’s why I tried to explain how the reward system works, especially for those who have not redeem the points yet. You can see all of the coupons available for reward redemption without having any reward points.

What I am trying to figure out is how to ensure that the right rewards get used in the right way. I have a $20 reward and I don’t want it to be used up until I use the $15 Household reward, for example.

Shouldn’t be an issue unless you have >=$20 in Household items. Buying $10 in produce used up my $10 produce coupon instead of the $10 anything coupon.
-
worth noting with category coupons (ie, deli, meat, fresh bakery) not all items ring up what you think they might (category wise)
I had a $2/2 fresh bakery and $1/1 bread (bakery) Q, bought a pack of pre-packaged pita bread sold in the confines of the bakery dep’t. Didn’t come off at register, supervisor told me it’s actually a deli item, so I voided it. There’s a lot of ‘deli’ classified items besides the meats/cheeses they slice. Think all the stuff in the refrigerated cases near the deli like hummus, guac, feta, etc. etc count as deli.
By the same token, the big packs of Impossible Burgers sold in the frozen department (like $17.99) come off as meat. Got one last week.
-
@mistercheap If your store carries it, Sahara brand pita breads would be considered bread (and found in the bread aisle) but Stonefire (techinically naan) and the flat breads sold in front of the deli counter would be deli. The little cocktail breads are also deli. If the equivalent meat product is also available in the meat dept. then its meat, lol. So impossible burgers and chicken nuggets would be meat even though Perdue nuggets are found in the deli section in one of my stores, lol.

No, pitas are TOUFAYAN brand, not Sahara (which are made by Thomas’ and delivered with the Thomas’ English Muffins, Bagels, etc, so def. bread (grocery) as opposed to breads considered fresh bakery. In the case of my Pita Bread they were on a rack parallel with the fresh bakery dep’t so…I just figured they were fresh bakery which is the offer I was using, but I was mistaken.
-
@mistercheap I think of store bakery as not being branded or being store branded although I wonder if the LaBrea breads are Store Bakery.

There are also some gourmet cookies sold by the fresh bakery dep’t that come pre-packed (Branded by some bakery in the area) sure those are fresh bakery. But given my reward is for $2 or $3 I try to limit it to items at $3.99 or less so I have minimal OOP. some of the bakery stuff is pricey. It can be confusing because you don’t know for certain until you ring them up at the register to see what coupons hit the order.
-
@mistercheap I only buy Fresh Bakery from the clearance shelf.

I have as well, but sometimes it doesn’t work as it’s coded differently at ACME. They have the French Bread/Italian Bread fresh bakery for about $2 that I like to get. Probably with the day old stuff, like a pack of 6 rolls, it turns after 2 or 3 days and I throw 1/2 of them out.
-
@mistercheap Our clearance bakery is like every other department. They scan the regular price then they scan the 50% off peelie. I refrigerate it because it takes me so long to finish a package.
I frequently walk into the store to check all the clearance sections then walk out if I haven’t found anything I might use. If I find something 50% off then I go to the shelf to find out if its on sale or not. If not on sale and 50% off then I probably won’t get it.
I buy short dated ultra pasteurized milk so I’ll check the expiration dates to figure out when they’ll be marked down. Milk has different rules. If the date is e.g. Jan. 1 that’s the sell by date so they won’t sell it on Jan. 1. On Dec. 30 it would be marked 50% off so it was sold by Dec. 31.

Trust me, it’s different at Acme. I know the peelies you speak of and they do use those on deli/meat items at Acme (30% off or 50% off lowest price) but on Bakery they slap a new barcode on them that scans the marked down price as “reduced Bakery” versus full price and the discount from the 50% off peelie. So it doesn’t pick it up the same way.

I doubt it, they pre-budgeted and there’s a finite # of prizes so they know their $ exposure. It’s probably a tax write off for them. I doubt they’ll feel much impact from the giveaway to tell you the truth.

$1 off Spices Coupon works on a lot of good things.
Don’t limit yourself to the spices/baking aisle.
On the aisle where they keep the packets of various beef rubs in the packet or chicken, taco seasoning (not on Mexican aisle), all these will work to have the $1 off Q’s come off. You can get some good things for free priced at $1 or often on sale 4/$5 (.25c). To test it out I picked up a packet of the Buttermilk Chicken packet (Hidden Valley) that you season the chix with. cost me 25c. Have a bunch of these coupons loaded!
Also if you’ve clipped the Signature Select $1 off Salsa, the 24oz bottles at Acme are $2.99 ea wyb 2, so will be $1.99 ea for 2 bottles and they have some good flavors (Fire Roasted, Southwestern with corn and beans in it, etc) These bottles are well worth $1.99 ea (assuming they have the sale at sister chains)

I got Celeste frozen pizza today. Sale price 99¢. I got 4 and used 4 $1/1 frozen pizza. Free. Also Pepperidge Farm goldfish on sale for $1.97 with clipped J4u. Got 4 of those and used 4 $1/1 crackers to make them 97¢ each.

I have a first world dilemma. I have the $2 off 2 lbs of boneless chicken breasts coupon from the game. Boneless chicken breasts are on sale for $1.97/lb. I could get 2 lbs for ~ $4 - $2 coupon making them $1/lb. The dilemma? I don’t like chicken breast. I guess I’ll pass even though it seems like a great deal.

Can you use them to cook some food for your cats? By the way, they most be sold under the ‘signature select’ brand for that Q to work. it’s not any chicken breasts.
-
@mistercheap Oh good, they’re not Signature Select so I’m not missing a deal, lol.
The cats get raw not cooked chicken. White meat doesn’t have as much taurine as dark meat. Its why a cat won’t survive if just fed dog food or canned tuna. No added taurine. I use whole thighs which I buy when they go on sale for 97¢/lb. If I gave them boneless chicken breast I’d have to add extra taurine and supplemental calcium (no bone).BTW, if you ever buy chicken liver, use the SCO. Chicken liver comes in a plastic container with a weight sticker on top. By accident I learned that if you scan the UPC that’s preprinted on the side of the container they ring up for the price per lb. probably because some stores sell 1 lb. containers.

Expires 7/16/23We also have 75¢/1 OO tortilla chips. Scrolling through the OO chips I noticed that there are some items for which the 75¢ applies, some which just have the $4/$15 noted and OO popcorn had neither. So caveat emptor. If you’re going to buy $15 worth of OO check to see that each of your OO items will count towards the $4/$15. I’m sure that CS would give it to you but what a hassle. They are donating “a meal” for every OO product purchased up to 28MM meals. IDK how much “a meal” is.
When I saw the 75¢/1 OO tortilla chips I checked price. On sale for $2.50. So using the 75¢/1 (L1) and a $1/1 Any Chips, Pretzels or Bagged Popcorn Purchase makes them 75¢/bag.
There’s also a $2/2 Mondelez (Nabisco crackers) that doesn’t expire until 8/3. Hopefully we’ll have a sale on crackers between now and then. The $2/2 should stack with 2 of the $1 OFF Any Crackers Purchase of $1 or more and the sale.

HOT IF TRUE FOR ALL! (YMMV)
Per a poster on SD: So I needed cat food and put a $19 bag of Purina in my cart and it took off $15. I have several cards that still have $15 coupons for different categories and by process of elimination I figured out the $15 personal care coupon is what works on pet food.
-
I’ve been trying to figure out how to get cash for some of the coupons. The best I could come up with so far is the JnJ BTS rebate.
Spend $75 (in a single transaction) get $25 gc
Spend $30 get $10
Spend $20 get $5JnJ doesn’t deduct for coupon use whereas P&G does.

Believe me, I’ve been playing to make sure I get this clipped, it was one of the choices that was low priority and I had not clipped it, but I created an account for the cat, she is now playing. :{…/name}:
-
@mistercheap It was one of my last to be picked… between that and bakery. Three of my cats have had J4u accounts for years. When I finished all the bonuses on an account I decided to start playing on an account that hadn’t been playing. Earned the $15 meat and now the “cat food” q moved up to #2.
-
@mistercheap It looks like it might work on cat litter as well. I put 2 litter @$14.99 in a cart and $25 is applying. The account has a $10/$10 and the other $15 could be Personal Care or Paper, Cleaning & Home. So I added a $20 bag of food. No change in coupons, i.e. another $15 didn’t come off which I think means that the same coupon that works on food works on cat litter. We use wood pellets from Tractor Supply so I’d never buy litter at the supermarket but I was curious.
