Probably not a good idea to keep too much Bonus Cash and to look for ways to monetize it. Luckily I only have $60.75 in Bonus Cash to use up.Back when Souplantation closed I lost nearly $400 in gift cards. I never want that to happen again.

I think even if the chain did go out, you could spend it at going out of business sales, but as we discussed via PM, trying to keep my BCC levels manageable sometimes hard enough to roll it, let alone figure out a good way to liquidate it on short notice.

Thanks to @ctujackbauer I’ve cashed out $250+ in RA gc since he posted his thread. Down to just $32 in BC on 2 cards including using all my points. I’ll get more BC when the next BCC posts but I might be done shopping for the month; unless Ibotta gives us another Humphries witch hazel. 😊

True. That is one saving grace of having store credit at a retail store rather than a restaurant. When a retail store goes bankrupt you can use your credit at the store closing sales, but when a restaurant goes under you are just out the money. I don’t even know if all of RA went under and they had liquidation sales if they would even accept Bonus Cash anymore. Gift cards, maybe. Bonus Cash, not so certain.

didn’t sears/kmart accept SYW points towards the end?

@mistercheap Yes. It’s probably a corporate decision whether to continue the loyalty program or not. There’s still Sears & KM dot com. I used the last of my g.c. this past year.
