Swagbucks Tips, Offers & Discussion Thread

This intro is a work in progress and will be updated as I have time…

    Summary

Swagbucks.com is a GPT (Get Paid To) site that allows you to earn points (aka swagbucks) that can be redeemed for gift cards, charitable donations, and Swagstakes. You can get paid to do many activities like watching videos, taking surveys, visiting websites, playing games, accepting offers, printing coupons, and many more. Many of the activities can be done while multi-tasking/doing other things.

Popular GCs include Amazon, PayPal, eBay, Walmart, Target, Steam, Starbucks, CVS, Home Depot, Lowes, Best Buy, and iTunes, but there are many others. They also offer virtual Visa and MasterCards cards. Redemptions rates for GCs: 1 SB = 1 cent. Once each month, you can get 12% off any $25 GC (excluding PayPal), so redeeming bucks for such a GC will cost 22,000 SBs instead of 25,000 SBs.

    • Also, Paypal recently began offering a free PayPal Cash MasterCard debit card that allows you to spend your PayPal account balance wherever MasterCards are accepted, even a B&M purchase at your favorite mom & pop that doesn’t offer GCs through Swagbucks. So as long as you don’t need your major credit card protections, like extended warranties, you can load up your PayPal balance with PayPal GCs from Swagbucks and spend that money wherever you choose (both in store and online). You can also withdraw money, fee-free, from 25K+ MoneyPass ATMs. There are no monthly or annual fees, no minimum balance requirement, and no credit check required.

Posting your referral link is not allowed on Phatwalletforums. If you wish to request a referral, you may do so here: https://phatwalletforums.com/topic/133/official-request-a-referral-thread

I have lots more info to add here and will do so as I have time and if people express interest in this thread. If you want to see anything added to the OP, please let me know.

If you have an offer or SB topic that you feel deserves it’s own thread, please feel free to create one.

    Some lower-effort earning tips:

    • Daily Goal & Monthly Bonus: if you click on the clock at the top of every page, you’ll see the minimum needed to earn each day to get a daily bonus (roughly 10% of the daily goal in SBs). Once you reach that, a second larger daily bonus goal will be revealed and you’ll earn roughly 10% of that number in SBs once you reach the second goal (the 1st daily goal is not added to it, it is either or). You can earn up to 300 SB per month for reaching your 1st daily goal for 30 days in a row (less for shorter streaks). SBs from daily goals, daily bonuses, and the monthly bonus must be claimed with 2 weeks (and are usually made available by the 2nd or 3rd day of the month) .
      • 7 days straight = 25 SB bonus
      • 14 days straight = 100 SB bonus
      • 21 days straight = 200 SB bonus
      • 30 days straight = 300 SB bonus
    • Mobile Apps: You can earn points on their mobile apps. These can be run simultaneously with other SB activities, except other mobile apps. Mobile videos satisfy the daily watch item on your daily to do list. You can download them here: http://www.swagbucks.com/mobile
      • Videos mobile apps: the number of videos watched to earn 2 - 4 SBs varies depending on current offer. Once you hit the daily earning limit in app, move on to another mobile app. The 6 video only apps are EntertaiNow, IndyMusicTV, LifeStylz TV, MovieClips, SBTV, and Sportly TV.
      • Swagbucks app: allows you to do searches, enter swag codes, watch videos, and do discover activities. When you try to enter a swag code online and you get an error message saying that it is an in app code, this is the app they’re talking about. Another reason to install it is that every time a new swag code is released, this app will notify you and tell you where to find it.
    • Daily codes: each day they announce a swag code that you enter by clicking on the dial at the top of each screen (or in the Swagbucks app or the Swagbucks browser extension if indicated). Codes are usually announced in the late morning to late afternoon and can be redeemed for about 1 hour (longer on weekends and holidays). Codes are announced on their Facebook page and through the Swagbucks app. There are also sites which will send you text notifications if you register. Watch out for “extravaganza” code days where they might issue 6 or 7 codes in one day instead of 1 daily code worth 2 or 3 SB… and they be worth 6 - 9SB each or more.

    • Daily To Do List (updated 04-21-2019): you can earn a variable number of bonus bucks (usually 6-10 SBs) each day by completing the 8-item to do list on your homepage. You complete a number of these just by using the site anyway, so you may as well complete the list to get the bonus points. The list includes the daily poll (1 SB), daily search (SB varies), deal of the day (0 SB), daily activity (0 SB), daily discover (SB varies), daily watch (SB varies), attempt daily gold survey (1 SB per disqualification, 5 max daily for most people), and complete a gold survey (SB varies). The daily crave/ncrave (usually 1 SB each, max 48 SB daily) is no longer part of the list but can still be accessed via the “Learn More” link under the To Do List title.

    • Daily Searches: this is not as lucrative as it used to so I barely bother with it anymore. You used to be able o win a search 4 or more times a day and occasionally you’d get a very high value search reward Like 50 - 100 SB). Now its hard to get one win every few days and the value is rarely over 10 SB.

    • TLTG: The Laptop Guy: When available, watch a variable number of videos to earn 2SB. It’s best when there is a long run of 1 video/1 click = 2 SBs. He can be accessed under popular videos on the home page or sponsored videos on the watch page, or just keep his popup window open and refresh whenever you want to check to see if he’s available. This also satisfies your discover item on your daily to do list. http://www.swagbucks.com/?cmd=gn-jun-frame

    • 5 DQ points in Gold Surveys Daily: if you do surveys, do them before Peanut Labs surveys because PL DQs count towards your daily gold survey DQ, byt no the other way around. Plus there are no limits to how many PL DQs you can get per day which can really help you reach your daily goal or bonus goal if you’re very close and running out of time.

    • nCrave: nCraves are groups of videos that earn varying amounts of points. It is a sub-heading under the “Watch” home page or you can click here: http://www.swagbucks.com/ncrave. The video sets that auto run are great when you are multitasking because you don’t have to click the next button after each video. Also make sure that you look at how much each video set is worth as the value changes periodically, even when the picture and title stay the same (what may have been paying 9 SB earlier may now only pay 3 SB), and nCraves you avoid for paying too little may suddenly be worth much more. nCraves satisfy the daily crave item on your daily to do list.

    • Team Challenges occur every 1 to 2 months beginning on a Monday at 1pm EST and end at 3pm EST on the Friday of that same week. You have to sign up for the promo and earn a specified number of team points (not the same as SBs but calculated on the SBs you’re earning anyway). You can sign up at any time during the challenge. If your team wins, you get a variable number of SBs for redeeming your bucks for a GC purchase (called a Swag Up). The winners often get 50 SBs and 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams get lower value Swag Ups. Since you are earning SBs anyway, you may as ell sign up to team challenges and get a free bonus.

    • Coupon Printing: for the past month or so, there has been a coupon printing promo that awards 1 SB per coupon printed up to the daily limited. It started at 30 coupons a day, went up to 40, and is now at 50 100 coupons per day. You can print the coupons to a pdf file to save paper and ink, then only print the pages with coupons you actually want to use )(you also get 10 SB per redeemed coupon). If you take a couple of minutes a day to print 50 coupons, that’s an extra $15 SB a month.

    • A note on taking surveys: yes, they’re annoying and you get disqualified a lot, but if you do Gold surveys until you get 5 DQs, you earn 1 SB per DQ and then 1 SB for each Peanut Lab survey DQ. This can help you meet your daily bonus requirements in a pinch if you’re close but running out of time. More importantly, surveys are also a gateway to much more lucrative product testing (which often pay $10 to $50 and do not require writing reviews) and invitations to join short or long term discussion boards that vary in compensation. One 2-week discussion board I did paid $300 and I’ve done several that have paid $50 to $150. The long-term discussion boards that pay $10 - $25 a month a great as long as the effort is commensurate with the compensation, but I avoid discussion boards that give you the chance to win in favor of guaranteed monthly payments.

So, they’re running some type of bonus cash back promotion called SwagBuster. The stores and CB amounts are being changed/updated regularly (I just realized that the Amazon bonus CB in my previous post was part of it), so you have to keep checking back/refreshing the page.

I don’t know when this promo will end, but some of the best deals they have right now are:

    • Disney: Get 4 movies for $1 with membership. Earn 2,500 SB ($25), it was 1,000 SB

    • Jet,com: Earn 10% Cash Back + FREE Shipping on orders over $35 (was 1% CB)

    • AMC: Get a $25 AMC Gift Card and receive a 500 SB bonus! Limit 1 per person, and get 1,100 SB ($11), was 100 SB

    http://iheart.swagbucks.com/pages/2017/11/Swagbusters_2017

ETA: looks like the update the list every time they release a Swag Code (current code is worth 9 SB BTW). Fewer interesting offers this time but this looks decent:

California Pizza Kitcen: LIMTED QUANTITIES… The first 25 people to get $50 California Pizza Kitchen Gift Card gets a 1,000 SB Bonus! Limit 1 per person. Now 1,250 SB ($12.50/50% off), was 250 SB

The following purchases are not eligible for SB: Apple-branded products (Apple Watch, Laptops, Tablets, Desktops, iPhones, etc), Mobile devices, Best Buy Business orders, Bestbuy,ca orders, gift cards, warranties, transactions on 3rd Party Websites, online photo center sales, digital downloads, Geek Squad Services, phone activations, long-distance and internet service sales and Reward Zone Purchases. On your daily To Do List (on the homepage), click on “Deal of the Day.” Today’s offer is 2 SB per coupon printed, up to 100 coupons. That’s up to $2 just for printing coupons (hint: print to PDF, you can print individual pages with coupons you want to use later).

    "Earn Up To 200 SB!

    • Earn 2 SB for every coupon you print!
    • 100 Coupons Per user/Day. SB awarded by Wednesday, 12/27/2017."

Here’s the link. Since the offer sats “per day,” I plan to check it tomorrow to see if this is available again: http://www.swagbucks.com/offer?oid=6416

The offer should also be on your homepage (under “Featured Ways to Earn”), and in your inbox (where it looks like the offer may be good for 3 days).

i have been doing a lot of “tank top girl”. she’s next to the laptop guy when she’s available. few clicks, 30 secs videos for 2 SB. after few times you will get “sorry not available” but will be back after while and few refreshing.

  • 500 Club

@fivetalents just got my first 200 SB from the 21st

  • Global Moderator

That’s interesting @Krazy9Katz, I didn’t get the 2 SB/coupon print offer on my account until the 22nd. I haven’t received any SBs from printing yet, but the offer says payout is by the 27th so I’m not expecting anything sooner.

I’m glad you discovered ‘tank top gal!’ I haven’t mentioned “The Lap Top Guy’s” counterpart because I haven’t seen her on my account since 2016. They both work the same in that they are available for a limited (unknown) number of uses per account and then are unavailable for a (unknown) length of time. So, as you noted, keep refreshing the home page if you don’t see either and they’ll eventually show back up (sometimes within minutes, sometimes it takes days or longer). Alternately, I like to keep their respective pop-up windows open and refresh those instead of returning to the home page to look for them

  • Global Moderator

SBs from the 2 SB/coupon print should be posting today, if you haven’t received them yet. I’m expecting $8.

Heads up: a new offer started today for coupon prints. It’s the most generous offer I’ve ever seen: 3 SB per printed coupon, up to 150 prints per day ($4.50) for 4 days ($18). If you ran out of coupons to print from the last offer, they should be replenishing soon, so keep checking back.:

    "Earn Up To 450 SB!

    Limited Time Only!

Earn 3 SB for every coupon you print!

*150 Coupons Per user/Day. SB awarded within 48 hours."

To get credited, you must access the coupon page through an active offer (check your home page, banners, inbox, and pop-ups).

Thanks. SB has been my consistent points-earning site for several years now. Playing a game (I like Swagasaurus, fast and easy) 10 times gets 10 points, do the poll, try to get 6 of the 8 items on the To Do list, then surveys. Surveys can be frustrating with a lot of “Sorry, you don’t qualify”, but persistence usually gets one a day you can complete. Both MyPoints and SB have in-store purchase at Walmart, upload receipt, get points offers once in a blue moon, except at Christmas time. This year the deals were the same as last year - ArmorAll Car Care Kits (in the red bucket) and Kiwi products. This year they were even better. There were 3 different purchase time frames for the ArmorAll and two for the Kiwi products. The ArmorAll especially were appreciated gifts for family and friends this year. And the points from all those were enough to get a $50 Amazon GC on my MyPoints account and another on my husband’s MyPoints account, with points left over. Each of us is allowed a MyPoints account, according to their rules. SB also offered points for uploading receipts for purchasing those items at Walmart. SB allows only one account per household, though.

  • 500 Club

For a long time on that other deal place, SB members were posting about surveys - giving quick info as to what a particular survey was about or looking for so you didn’t waste time on surveys that you knew you wouldn’t qualify for or that would kick you out after you answered most of the questions or wouldn’t pay after you finished it. However, apparently SB monitored that thread, and a lot of SB members who posted there were kicked off SB because of their posts trying to help with info about surveys. Do you think that would happen here? I would love to help other PhatWalleters with general helpful info (X survey is if you plan to buy a new car soon, Y survey is about bank credit cards, Z survey is looking for parents of children under 12, etc.)

  • Global Moderator

@Dionaea and @my4mainecoons There are two current Kiwi shoe care offers at SBs (and MyPoints). For simplicity/to stay on topic, I’ll only spell out the SB offer:

    1. 1500 SBs for purchasing 2 qualifying Kiwi products costing at least $4 each at Walmart. Use a printable $5 manufacturer coupon from coupons-dot-com. Submit receipt to ibotta for $1.50 CB. So total maximum MM = $7 + $5 + $1.50 = 13.50

    2. 1600 SBs for purchasing a qualifying $11 kit at Walmart. Use a printable $5 manufacturer coupon from coupons-dot-com. Submit receipt to ibotta for $1.50 CB. So total MM = $5 + $5 + $1.50 = 11.50

    If you do both, you get $13.50 + $11.50 = $25

If you use your monthly 12% discount on one $25 GC, you can get a $25 GC and still have $3 in SBs left over

I think this current offer expires today!!! However, according to @briarycliffs, 2 new Kiwi offer is available today on SBs (and only 1 on MyPoints).

    0_1514387003114_Screenshot_2017-12-27-10-01-16-1.jpg

  • Look at Ibotta today for a new Kiwi offer, mine is $8 off 2!!!. That will combine nicely with the sb and mp offer.

Is this the link you were looking for @Dionaea? It has the details for both Kiwi offers:

    http://www.swagbucks.com/shop/in-store

  • The Kiwi cleaners deal is 12/21/17 - 12/28/17 for both mp and sb. The Kiwi kit is a new offer that started on the 26th - 1/1/18. Hoping they offer the cleaners again on the 29th. It’s really confusing. I guess I will do a kiwi kit tomorrow and hope for the best.

  • Global Moderator

@briarycliffs I’m hoping that ibotta will offer another coupon on the kit too (like they did on the cleaners), since the previousone expired.

Yes, all of my coupon prints from the last offer credited yesterday too (this offer promised payment on the 27th, but others may say SBs will credit ‘x’ number of days after printing). I only had 8 coupons available to print yesterday 😒. You’re right that they replenished the supply today, but only enough for me to print 115 coupons, which is unusually low after a batch of coupons is released. I’ll probably be able to print some of them again tomorrow for ones that allow a print limit higher than 1. I hope that they add more new coupons every day or I won’t benefit much from this 4-day promo.

Sorry @Dionaea, but I somehow missed this post until now. My opinion is that anything posted on the public section of any public website is fair game for them to mine for proof that anyone is violating their terms and conditions. They are VERY aggressive about shutting down accounts, as you noted, so I wouldn’t take any chances. However, feel free to post/share heads ups about any great deals or offers you come across on SB as that does not violate their rules.

Thanks. I checked ibotta and there’s no Kiwi offers to stack with SBs and the $5 printable coupon, but you can still make $12 on the 1500 SB offer on two $4+ items and/or $10 on the $11 kit with the 1600 SB offer.

    January New Year’s Resolution Promotion:

Set your own personal goals for 5 select SB activities for the month of January and earn a bonus for reaching all of your goals. However, it’s an all or none deal: you must reach all 5 of your goals or you don’t get any bonus.

You can see how much the bonus will be before you finalize your goals (the higher the goals you set for yourself, the higher the bonus). A minimum goal is required for each activity.

You must set your goals by January 10th, 2018 (11:59 PM PST) to participate.

5 goals you’ll need to set:

    • Total SB Earned - Minimum Goal: 250 SB (excludes shopping, coupon prints, daily goal, & To Do List bonuses)

    • Gold Survey Completions - Minimum Goal: 2 Surveys (excludes Profiler Surveys)

    • Watch Playlist Completed - Minimum Goal: 3 Playlists (excludes nCrave)

    • Swag Codes redeemed through the SwagButton (PC internet browser extension) – Minimum Goal: 1 Swag Code

    • SB Local Transactions - Minimum Goal: 0 (optional since SB Local is still expanding/not available in all cities. They’ve recently added national franchise retail stores like Sam’s Club and Cost Plus World Market)

Members who achieve their goals will receive their bonuses on February 7th, 2018 by 5pm PT.

Play around with the amount you set for each goal as the extra work may not result in an (meaningful) increase in the total bonus earned and may cause you to earn nothing if set too high. You can easily pick up an extra $3 - $5 just by doing what you’re already doing anyway.

Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for this, and there isn’t any reason not to sign up. If you only opt in for the minimum in all categories, you’ll get 38 SB for very little additional effort, if any. Hint: go to your activities page and look at how many SB you’ve earned already since January 1st and set that as your 1st goal (see exclusions first). Use the filter to do the same with Gold Surveys (though it’s unclear to me if surveys done towards your To-Do List count so I’m not counting the 1st Gold Survey on any day to be safe). Entering what I’ve already done, if I do 3 watch offers and redeem 1 code through the button, I’ll get a $2.15 bonus. Remember, you still have 20 days to reach these goals so it’s easy money (I set my goals to earn over $4).

We’re in the midst of the usual December/January earnings drought. While it has been harder to earn points in many of the activities lately, you can still easily reach at least your daily goal with things like the mobile video apps, coupon prints (only if clicking through an active offer), To-Do List, and surveys.

    And, there’s SWAGO!!!

Fortunately, a new Swago board started today (sign up here: http://www.swagbucks.com/swago), and ends on January 16 at 12PM PT. I skipped the last one because you had to buy something (a GC through MyGC+) to submit a 50 SB board and they didn’t have the Spin & Win wheel to earn bonus bucks. However, this Swago board is a good one!

    • You can easily earn 50 SB by completing the 2nd row or first column, which don’t require doing much more than you are already doing… if you have to do extra, it is low effort and free.

    • If you do decide to fill in the entire board, you’ll get 500 SB ($5), but you will have to spend money on a gift card. If the extra $4.50 is worth it to you, it will be sweetened by the fact that you’ll also get cash back on the GC and you can get a 100 SB bonus on your first $50 GC from any store. Of course, if you get a GC, you could submit less than the entire board for 75 to 300 SB depending on the pattern, but if you’re going to spend money, you might as well do the whole board for $5. You can buy a GC of any value, it doesn’t have to be $50. Just remember to buy it ahead of time enough so that it has time to credit to your account before the board submission deadline (and to give you enough time to use up all of your spins.

    • This Swago board has the Spin & Win wheel! http://www.swagbucks.com/spin-and-win. All spins must be used by January 16th at 11:59pm PST. Every tile you complete earns you a spin, so even if you decide (like me) to only do a 50 SB pattern and not do any tiles requiring spending money, still complete as many of the low effort tiles as possible before submitting your board to maximize the number of spins earned. Spins can win you things like various amounts of SBs and Swag-ups (like double survey SBs and double search SBs). You can access your Swag-ups through your account drop down menu (http://www.swagbucks.com/account/swagup). Although most of your spins WILL result in generally useless Swagstakes entries, you can easily pick up a couple of extra bucks (I’ve earned over $5 from spins alone AFTER submitting 50 SB Swago board). With your double survey Swag-ups, remember to no waste them on low-point surveys: you’d rather get a 150 SB survey doubled than a 25 SB survey.

There is an an easy 75 SB Discover offer in my inbox (and on the homepage) entitled “Crowdsourced Insurance Reviews.” You just have to write a review of any insurance company you’ve had insurance with for Clearsurance. You do have to create an account (email, password, & zipcode), but it is quick and ‘credited’ for me within about 30 minutes (it is pending review/will post to my account on the 17th). This offer has been around off and on for the past year or so but I never did it before because I hate giving out my email, but I suspect that you may be able to do it again for additional SBs for each unique company reviewed, either now or when the next new offer becomes available (so it may justify the email).

If you use TaxACT to e-file your taxes online, you could earn up to $10 cash back by clicking through SwagBucks. You can find the offer on your homepage or click their store link below. To earn the maximun you must be charged something for filing. When I’ve done this in the past, it stacked with TaxACT’s own separate $10 offer for free federal + state deluxe or ultimate e-filing. SB offers coupons through the link below but they’re not as good as the $10 flat rate offer that includes eveything (offered as recently as 2016)… if that still exists since they changed their pricing structure and increased prices under new ownership. If TaxACT is going to offer steeps discounts this year, it will probably be in March/closer to the filing deadline.

"TaxACT is a critically acclaimed leader of affordable, online, tax preparation and solutions for the consumer and business owner.

Earn up to $10.00 Cash Back. That’s up to 1000 SB.

    Special Terms:

    • CD and Download TaxAct Purchase not eligible for SB.
    • Over the web Tax Return Purchase not eligible for SB.
    • Online Paid Complete: 1000 SB (flat).
    • Online Free Complete: 100 SB (flat).

Each can only be earned once annually.
