Kroger Launches New Online Grocery Delivery Service + Subscription Option NOW NATIONWIDE With 15% Off (Stacks With Coupons/Sales)+ FS, No Minimum AC
-
ETA: there no longer seems to be an expiration date for the 15% off 1st order + FS on $35 offer
Kroger launches “Kroger Ship,” an online home delivery service, offering over 50,000 items for deliveries, in four cities (Cincinnati, Houston, Louisville, and Nashville), though more cities will be added soon. The service will require a minimum $35 order to avoid the $4.99 delivery fee. The service will also provide an additional 5% off with a monthly subscription option (“Set & Save”).
To celebrate the launch, you can save 15% off and get free shipping on your first order with code SHIP15 at checkout, no minimum purchase requirement. Offer expires
12/31/201802-28-2020, 7am ET, while supplies last. Exclusions apply. All orders automatically earn fuel points, which allows you to save up to $1/gallon ($0.10 off per gallon for every $100 spent per month). You can stack digital coupons with other savings. They plan to expand to other cities soon, so if your city is not included now, check back through the end of the year to see if you can take advantage of this promo before the code expires. THEY JUST SENT OUT A MASS EMAIL ANNOUNCEMENT SO THIS IS NOW OPEN TO EVERYONE (assuming they’re not restricting this to areas served by their B&M locations“At this time, we do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. Territories or addresses outside of the United States”).Be sure to check their promotions page to find additional savings to stack. They are currently offering up to 20% off brands like Quaker, Post, Oreo, RXBar, Starbucks, Bush’s, Nature Valley, Kellogs, Mr. Coffee, Kind, Enjoy Life, Simply Organic, Arrowhead Mills, and Simple Truth (one of their Kroger brands). They also currently have a 15% off back to school paper products promo.
"America’s largest grocery chain launched “Kroger Ship,” a direct home delivery service, in four cities on Wednesday: Cincinnati, Houston, Louisville, and Nashville. It will expand to new markets in the coming months.
Kroger (KR) already offers delivery from 1,200 of its stores through third-parties like Instacart and curbside pickup at 1,250. Both are valuable tools to help Kroger offer current and potential customers convenience and keep pace with rivals.
But Ship new will give the company a new weapon as more shoppers order groceries online and legacy brick-and-mortar retailers Walmart and Target build up their digital capabilities to compete with Amazon (AMZN). Amazon’s Whole Foods acquisition last year blurred the lines between online and offline food retail…
Kroger’s delivery website went live on Wednesday, and shoppers can pick from more than 50,000 grocery, household, beauty, and pet food choices.
The company is focusing on its private label collection with Ship by offering more than 4,500 of its own brands…
Kroger is offering free shipping on purchases above $35, but orders below will come with a $4.99 delivery fee. During the launch phase, the company is offering shoppers free shipping and 15% off their orders using a promocode.
Ship also features an order-and-save subscription, which Kroger believes can help convince customers to make repeat purchases.
Online purchases will be fulfilled directly from Kroger’s two current fulfillment centers and a third one opening in the fall. The company is working with FedEx (FDX) and the Postal Service to ship orders, which can be delivered as soon as the next day."

This appears to be widely available now (updated OP to reflect this) given the mass email announcement they just sent:
Subject: New! Ship to Your Door and Get 15% OFF Your Order
Don’t forget to stack with promo offers and digital coupons to maximize savings.
ETA: the offer is now on their website’s home page too…

The small number of national brand partners listed above specifically request that their products be excluded from our sales. We respect and value these relationships and as such, we follow their guidelines.Promo codes
We love promo codes - and we know you do, too. To get the most out of them, here are the facts you need to know:-
Promo codes have restrictions and expiration dates. Please be sure to review the details and disclaimer associated with the promo code you’re trying to use. This information is located at the bottom of the promotional banner.
-
NOT ALL items are eligible for discounts. For total-order discounts (e.g. $10 off or 12% off your order), please see the brands in the Brand Exclusions section above that have excluded themselves from the sale. These items also do not count toward a minimum purchase requirement (if a promo code requires you spend a certain amount.)
-
BOGO items and promo codes: If you’re buying any BOGO items, the second discounted item does not qualify for any additional discount and does not count toward a minimum purchase requirement.
-
Not all codes can be combined or “stacked.” Here’s how it breaks down: You can’t combine two promo codes that each offer an order-level discount (e.g. $10 off or 12% off your order). You can combine an order-level discount code with a product discount, brand discount or free gift promo code.
-
For codes that can be combined, enter one promo code at a time and then click “Update” after each.
Free items: full-size and samples
The following restrictions apply to all free items: Limited time only. While supplies last. No rainchecks. Limit 1 of each free item per customer. Free items cannot be shipped internationally.

So, I can buy Barilla spaghetti for $1 (reg. $2.07), get an additional 15% off, and have it (with $35 worth of other Hot Deals) shipped for free, even though I’m 150+ miles and one state away from the nearest Kroger?
That would make some of the grocery prices less than at my local Target…

Essentially, yes. However, the normal $35 minimum needed to avoid the $4.99 delivery fee does NOT apply when using the 1st time customer 15% off code because that code gives you free shipping with no minimum.
-
…and Kroger even posts the nutrition labels for each item, so that I can avoid purchasing something containing an undesirable ingredient, such as high fructose corn syrup, hydrogenated oil, aspartame, or the like?
This could be a game changer…
Thanks, @fivetalents!

I know it’s been a while since this was posted, but I wanted to comment what a good deal it seemed to be for me–at least on my first order last week. In my case, I wanted to take advantage of the free shipping with no minimum on this first “tryout”.
So I ordered 5 boxes of Hodgson Mills Oat Bran cereal, which has been “temporarily unavailable” at all my local Kroger stores for the last couple of weeks. It was on sale for $2.00 a box, vs. $2.59 normal price in-store. While nosing around on the Kroger Ship site, I noticed Kroger’s 13-gallon trash bags at a good price: $8.99 for 120, vs. $9.99 for the same in-store. So I got one of those and completed my order. No shipping charge and 15% taken off–sweet!
The kicker was, I made this ~$16 order on Friday morning, got an email from FedEx shipping in the evening to expect it by Monday, but there was the Kroger box sitting on my doorstep on Saturday afternoon! Everything well packed too. Look out Amazon Prime Pantry!
NOTE: Item prices on the Kroger Ship site often vary from the normal Kroger shop site (say for ClickList pickup), often being higher but some also lower, as I found. I suspect that different Kroger coupons are in play here too, just not sure.
I do know that if I decided to get the Hodgson Mills Oat Bran cereal from Amazon, it would have cost me almost as much for only two boxes with Prime shipping, that is $14.99 plus tax. It pays to look around!

I’m so glad to get any feedback on what I think is an incredible but largely overlooked grocery deal, much less such a detailed report. It’s great to hear that it worked out so well for you.
So I ordered 5 boxes of Hodgson Mills Oat Bran cereal, which has been “temporarily unavailable” at all my local Kroger stores for the last couple of weeks…
Yes, this is a great way to stock up on things your local store(s) either don’t carry or rarely have more than a few of (e.g., there’s a great sale but you can only get 1 or 2), or just to get a bunch at the lowest price you’ve ever seen on something.
While nosing around on the Kroger Ship site, I noticed Kroger’s 13-gallon trash bags at a good price: $8.99 for 120, vs. $9.99 for the same in-store…
Thanks. I wasn’t aware of this deal and will be adding it to my online cart!
The kicker was, I made this ~$16 order on Friday morning… the Kroger box sitting on my doorstep on Saturday afternoon! Everything well packed too. Look out Amazon Prime Pantry!
Yeah, I’m sooo tired of Amazon’s Prime 2-day shipping now effectively being 5-day shipping + a bunch of excuses and frequent membership fee hikes… next day beats my expectations though/is really impressive for free shipping… and Kroger already beat Amazon by using any packing materials, much less packing their boxes well.
NOTE: Item prices on the Kroger Ship site often vary from the normal Kroger shop site (say for ClickList pickup), often being higher but some also lower…
Very true. Most of the prices I’ve noticed are the same, but you have to know what your local Kroger sells it for and/or what a competitive price is for a given product (no matter where you buy it). For example, my favorite premium rice brand is 3% less on Kroger Ship compared to their B&M, yet my favorite staple rice brand costs 6% more on K-Ship (fortunately it does go on sale there periodically, making it cheaper than the B&M).
I suspect that different Kroger coupons are in play here too, just not sure.
Confirmed! I believe that the digital B&M coupons you can load to your loyalty card are just Coupon .com coupons (that’s why, although affiliated with Kroger, you can’t submit Kroger receipts in the Coupons .com app). There are far fewer coupons on K-Ship and they are very different… I haven’t figured out how or why yet.
I do know that if decided to get the Hodgson Mills Oat Bran cereal from Amazon, it would have cost me almost as much… It pays to look around!
Yes, definitely shop around for everything… always… even after you found a great price somewhere because the next time they might raise the price (I’m looking at you Amazon), another retailer may have lowered their price/have a sale/have a coupon etc., or a new seller on the block could start selling it at a great price. FWIW, I never use Amazon S&S unless I have 5 items/qualify for 15% off (even if I have to place 2 separate orders of a staple product instead of one order of 2).
ETA: they had a $10 off + free shipping code for anyone (not just 1st timers) during the holidays, so definitely keep an out for future K-Ship deals you’ll qualify for.

@fivetalents
Thanks OP and for the bump. I didn’t pay attention to this deal when it was first posted since I do not live near a physical Kroger store. But I will definitely give this a try.
-
Just wanted to weigh in one more time on this, after my second order with KrogerShip. Wow! I can’t believe how well everything got packed, and all using paper (bio-degradable) packing materials–save for three large zip-lock bags that some liquid items were put in first. See pic below. Truly night-and-day compared to how I’ve received similar stuff from Amazon Prime, e.g. dented, broken, spilled etc.
Btw my order was mostly canned goods and such, and barely hit the $35 minimum free ship (I took advantage of the free-ship-no-minimum on my first order). But I did find some excellent deals, especially on “no salt added” items and curiously enough Meyer’s Clean Day products. Such as 5 of the dish soap for only a little more than what 3 would cost me at Amazon. I found some other items I can’t get at my local Kroger stores as well.
If you haven’t tried this yet, you should check it out. This time it took a whopping 2 days after I ordered to see it on my doorstep, via FedEx ground. I will definitely be using it again for certain items, assuming they can keep this up!

It appears that that some of Kroger’s affiliate store brands like Ralph’s and Fry’s have have their own “ship” websites offering the same 15% off + free shipping deal. The coupon code is the same though, so I doubt you can double-dip even though the carts aren’t linked/there are different log-ins. This seems like an inefficient waste of resources and a missed opportunity to have one very strong competitive nationwide brand name… customers in regional markets already know who the parent company is, so it won’t take much to order home deliveries from Kroger instead… they need to focus on building brand recognition nationwide for one website since they’re all shipping nationwide/duplicating the same service.
I was looking at the 120-count Kroger’s 13-gallon trash bags that @UkeDog recommended ($8.99 or $0.075/bag before the 15% off) when I noticed the 80-count Kroger’s 13-gallon cross-tie trash Bags ($5.07 or $0.051/bag after a $1 off coupon but before the 15% off). The coupon expires on March 19th. Might be worth checking out.
There’s a $10 off $50+ on Baby stuff with code BABY10 at checkout (expires 3/25/2019, 7am ET). It stacks with the other already discounted baby discounts that don’t require order-wide codes like the 20% Off Select Diapers and Wipes (expires 3/25/2019, 7am ET), Up To 50% Off Select Baby Favorites (expires 3/25/2019, 7am ET), and 15% Off Select Snacks for Babies & Toddlers (expires 3/25/2019, 7am ET). The 1st time customer 15% off probably won’t stack with this $10 off $50 (20% off is better anyway): “You can’t combine two promo codes that each offer an order-level discount (e.g. $10 off or 12% off your order). You can combine an order-level discount code with a product discount, brand discount or free gift promo code.”
There’s a 20% Off Seattle’s Best Coffee coupon, no promo code required (expires 3/11/2019, 7am ET).
There’s a 25% Off Oreos coupon, no promo code required )expires 3/11/2019, 7am ET)

Kroger contributing to the obesity problem in America.
You had to look past the excellent stacked deals on the healthy(er) Simple Truth products I highlighted to make that comment… by my estate, you can easily save 25%. If you ‘walk past’ all the healthy products and purchase the unhealthy ones, I’m pretty sure you don’t get to put 100% of the blame the seller. Kroger is one of my favorite grocery stores due to their balance of price and quality… and their selection. Probably 98% of what I purchase there is certified organic with occasional ‘treats’ here or there (the last box of cereal I bought was sometime last summer). Moreover, I choose healthy, minimally processed organic items at Kroger due to their large selection of such items, even though they have an abundance of unhealthy things as well.
Show me one grocery brand that does not sell unhealthy foods… and don’t bother to tell me about Trader Joe’s, Sprouts, Whole Foods, Vitacost, health food stores, food co-ops or the like. They’re all FULL of unhealthy foods that’ll tank your health like those that are over-processed, low fiber, contain agave, contain soy, contain nitrate/nitrites, are highly acidic, are non-organic, are full of (‘natural’) sugar, are sourced from regions with polluted soil/water, list cryptic “natural” flavors in their ingredients (code for chemicals), and on and on. Also being certified organic does NOT automatically equal healthy.
That being said, if/when you choose to buy unhealthy stuff (which the vast majority of people already KNOW is unhealthy for them), whether regularly or as an infrequent treat/cheat, you may as well save money on it/spend less.

The vast majority of grocery stores have issues with click and ship or online pickup if you’re buying something in high demand during these interesting times. Rice, beans, toilet paper, paper towels, hand sanitizer, etc.
Most orders are getting cancelled, even from Walmart. At least in my area (Los Angeles/Orange County)

How is shipping with this service? OP says Fedex and Post Office. Is that still accurate?
I am having issues with Amazon and USPS. Wondering if this is a good alternative.
