For those who are a distance away I’d suggest calling just to see if they have an item in stock. Let them do the walking, but NEVER request pricing.
It you need to give them the item # (to know what they’re looking for), they’ll see the pricing once they pull up the item (to view the computer inventory in-stock count). My rule of thumb is to simply NOT CALL and take your chances. I’ve had mixed success w/ these types of deals.
In the best case, there was a Magellan stand-alone GPS unit on clearance for $25 (MSRP of around $170 or $180). Brickseek indicated that a nearby B&M had 9 of 'em. They ALL turned out to be in the back (in an unpacked brown cardboard box). Had 3 different associates look for them until they were found.
