since I don’t see this topic here, how about beginning one? We can cover all the changes affecting this hobby/part time job/, new methods new retailers friendly to us, etc. methods that work and one’s that don’t I will start off with a small tidbit.: Chase freedom cat. for 10/1-12/30 is Walmart. They sell 500.00 MCGC issued Bankcorp. The 500 VGC they sell are green dot (at least here) and don’t know if they can be liquidated by our methods. Bancorp cards can. But you will net about 60.00 after fees. If you have more then 1 freedom, it’s probably worth it, but only up to 1500 per freedom card, thus the 60.00 profit.

There is a grocery chain near me that gives gas points whenever you purchase Visa or master card gift cards. All the time. Also Stop and Shop does this when advertised. I was intrigued by the Fuel rewards program hanging on the shelf, as it states you have to link a credit card to the program, so I never tried. But I did sign up 2 weeks ago and card arrived. So I gave it a shot with a 25.00 Shell gift card I had from the grocery store. (they convert your points into a Shell Gift Card when you have enough to redeem, so for me the 25.00 card is free. I went across the street to Shell and followed the directions which were very simple. Then inserted the gift card and thought for sure the pump would lock up…BUT it took off another 12 cents per gallon. And this works with Stop and Shop loyalty cards too. granted you wont get rich, but if you manufacture spend, this is a great deal. And you get the cash price. The price for reg (cash) was 2.98. it dropped to 2.86 w/o doing much. So you insert 2 cards (fuel rewards and Gift card)

why are people paranoid? .I don’t really care if they “spy” on me. What useless info will they glean from me? Come on people… You mean they could learn that I am a manufactured spender? Big deal. I do all my banking and biz on my home desktop that has Avast and Premium Malware bytes. No problems in 3.5 years. And I use the BK app also…but not till the 1.00 MCD sandwich and coffee deals end. I’m using my 8 year old laptop now that is flawless…its i3…win 10 (upgraded last year) 24 ram. 16.9 brightview monitor and it is still fast on xfinity network. Happy with it. And if it fries tomorrow I got great use out of it.

per my handle… formerly for 20 years owned an auto diagnostic center in NJ. You get what you pay for in the auto biz. never heard of Windex making wipers. Actually some Chinese co. probably stole the name. As the previous poster mentioned… they squeak. That’s because the rubber is cheap. Would never last a year in the cold/ice and now of the northern states. The freeze thaw cycle will kill them in months. Maybe ok for south and west. But I am particular with my cars. Cant live with squeaks!! I use and sold only top blades from Bosch/Trico.

i think most of us and the entire population have been hoodwinked into buying all the pain relievers. I’m just about 70 yo and and have all the ailments of someone my age…(knee problems/sore this and that etc/ walking slower/ holding hand railings on staircases) I find regular store brand non aspirin pills work great when needed. If you need all these pain relievers, probably best to see a doc as to why. I also have had lifelong allergies and store brand (CVS) allergy pills are the only on that works. for me. And I still work f/t and commute via Metro North 55 miles each way to Grand Central. Then walk 20 blocks to work, in good weather. In bad weather I take the subway.

they are trying hard to get folks to taste the “new” recipe. I think the 'fresh 1/4 pounders are 1000% better then before.

@mistercheap perfect reason to go elsewhere. I stopped shopping there since I would lose the little slips of eb. I shop mainly at ShopRite and Walmart. Their prices are cheaper even with the CVS extra bucks. And CVS is constantly OOS.

i bought the 04 Mercury marauder new in Aug of 04. Baby the car. has 24k on it. has every option available at that time including embossed leather seats. (embossed with the mercury god on top of front seatback). Even has stainless steel tire nuts (the part you unscrew to add air). Super fast from 20mph. Speedometer goes to 140. Has about 40 coats of wax and it’s garaged kept. Folks in parking lots admire it all the time and think it’s brand new. First time mercury put bucket seats in a gMarquis. Only bad thing: A/C control door went bad (no a/c) last summer, was 375.00 repair. Plus the tires (goodrich) got dry rot on the sides. So I am on my 3rd set. Dry rot happens just by age.

@cpaynter should have stuck with the 1/4 pounder. The big mac still sucks and they are using the frozen stuff. Stick with the 1/4 lb and chicken. BTW Im a big ice tea drinker and the McD ice tea is the worst I have ever tasted. Tastes like urine!!! or what I think urine would taste like. Tried it 2x this week for the 1.00. Dont know what they are using.Disaster. I spilled it out and refilled with diet coke.

the artisian chicken sand is really good and healthier…but that tea>> dont they do taste tests??

@ukedog dont think any worry now on romaine. Shoprite chain just put out signs…“new crop… from California”.

i used mine on Tues and today. if you use the kiosk to order the 1/4 lb you can customize. Add onion/shredded lettice for free. Tomato slices are .5cents in my Mcd on Third ave and 33 st in Manhattan. Plus the 1.00 large coke. Some folks refill the cup after eating and drinking and take it out of the store…not me. Customization works on Artisan chicken and on the Mcdouble too!!

in upstate NY the 1.00 sandwich is gone. Now its 2.00 and only 1x per week. It comes back actually 5 days later. Also the 1.00 Mcdouble and large coffee still available every day. If i order a Mcdouble i use the kiosk and add tomato…my local Mcd, is 5 cents for this… plus extra onions/leaf lettuce/shredded lettuce. 1.05 plus tax. Sandwich is about 3" high. And the 1.00 coke plus a refill for the road…haha at self service soda fountain.

I can attest that 500.00 VGC on Amex cards get the 5% back on certain blue cash and the new gold card. been doing this for 4 years…very lucrative even with fees. HOWEVER… Staples and Office max report level 3 data on purchase at their stores. Means that the charges are itemized…300.00 card plus fee show on the statement. But I use Chase 5% card at Staples. They dont get level 3 data. BUT the Staples 10% offer with Amex does pay out even tho its gift cards. I have 2 amex biz cards and got the 10% just this am after ordering GC online on Sunday.

just to mention while in WM the last few weeks buying money orders…they have the 24 pack of Great Value water (their brand) for 1.77 and the 1 gallon jug of spring water for .60. Been like that for the past month. This is in Ct.

card cash is legit. I sold them gift cards and was paid within a week. did this 2x. The one not to trust is cardpool. They have a flashy site and were great up till 6 months ago. After that I listed cards to sell and nothing ever happened. Stil listed. I sold them to cardcast nor problem. And no way to contact cardpool no phone no email. cardcash you can call. They are in philly. Also another good seller and buyer is clipkard.com. I have dealt with them and they are good.

i live in an area that has very bad Sprint service. had them for years, but good service where I work in Manhattan. Switched 3 of the family’s phones to 3 xcharge phones, am as happy as sh-t!!, free everything, except for NY State taxes, 3.85 per phone. Phone connects seamlessly to work internet, connects on Metro North RR to grand central internet for free, and in home area uses xfinity wifi. All I do is talk and text and a bit of reading these forums! it’s great. And activated all the phones via their website. I had Comcast cable/internet/landline for years and they have come a long way from the crappy service years ago. Basically when it comes to cable TV, I am lazy and won’t be a cord cutter. i like to just use 1 remote with no signins. Wife wants all the local NYC and CT channels. We have their Premier X1 platform. it’s great. She pays for top tier, she is an overpaid Westchester County elementary school teacher. But I hardly have time to watch TV. The only channels I look at lately on my days off are lifetime movies. Those women are HOT!!!

i have 3 of the 1.00 phones from infinity for my family… Better then my Iphone 6 I used to have and bigger screen. Super fast. So this is a stripped down model? Don’t believe it. Plus the monthly fee is 12.00 + tax =14.50. The 12.00 is shared among the 3 phones, but we don;t use much data. Total for 3 phones monthly is $19.50. Unlimited talk/text. And it connects seamlessly to work internet and home router also.

@mrvietnam I am a MSer (manufactured spender) so I try to hit stores near my 3 Walmarts (for Money orders on the gift cards and groceries that sell money orders) So there are 3 RA near where I go. mainly did the Shoprite deal this weekend. get 20.00 certificate wyb 100.00 any gc. So I did it 2x with 2 SR cards. You need the card to get the deals. For me I never could get more then 2 cards from years ago (wife and me) Anyway I bought 4 and 4 25.00 Shell gas cards. The 20.00 cert. is good starting Sun. SR is my actual grocery. They are great. Small region al chain too. Sun they start another deal, buy 100.00 of any gift card (again) get 15.00 certificate for the following week. I am debating whether to do this one. I can wind up with 16 Shell cards. I also did the Stop&Shop deal this AM, spend 100.00 on gift cards… get 20.00 off your next order. Good immediately. So I bought the 100 Shell cards (2 50.00) along with my 4 500.00 Visa GC (for MS)again and then got the cert and bought some great sale items. After the certify, spend 1.23. Soory if this is boring. But I will have Shell gas for months and I don’t do that much driving. probably give some to my son’s. have a great Tday weekend. Since my time is limited I can’t go back to RA for the price difference. I’m just glad everything with the MS biz is still working out.

I’m retiring from my career in 6 months (NYPD Sergeant) great thing about NY, (although I live 65 mile away now, but lived on lower east side my entire life) is the bank situation. IE: after getting off Metro North train this PM, deposited MO to TDBank/WF bank/BOA/and Santander… .2 accts here. All accept MO at ATM. Tomorrow I hit 3 more on way in. Then walk to work. I do have trouble with the mobile deposits from my phone at BOA and WF. TD seems to accept anything I throw at them. Santander did call me to come in for a few questions about my deposits (large monthly amounts into 2 accts) I explained my “biz " honestly and how I get the MO. They were ok with it. That was 15 months ago.

great, thanks for this… used my 2 20.00 and 2 15.00 certificates the last 2 weeks, they also had some great deals these past 2 weeks.

from my vantage point as a MSer for about 4 years, all the good deals die when these big corp. realize they are getting gamed by a few players. I feel Amex killed this because they are subsidizing the PP program. They have done this with their 5 % no fee Old Blue cash card (after a few years). There are folks that have 4 or 5 of these cards. They put a 55600 yearly cap, but they are still cracking down. Now they have a crew checking all the purchases on these cards looking for MSers. They are starting to NOT pay out the 5%, I hear from a few sources. These cards are money losers for them, but it takes them a year or to two to figure it out. They never had Amex employees checking purchases but now they are. Even tho the T&C stated gift cards are not eligible fort 5 % back, they are enforcing it now. In retrospect, our members are “abusing” the PP system and they are stopping it.

congrats MRV!!! my 2 sons are in their early 40’s.!!!. All I remember about diapers were that we used Johnsons disposables and Kimbies. Made by major companies but those brands are gone now. I do remember buying baby formula at numerous Shoprites when that had a sale of .99 per can. And got tons of rainchecks for that item also. BYW, I just checked in Acme for nostalgia sake and they sell the (Enfamil) in the rx dept. not on shelves, and the old can is no more. Now its a container that costs about $9.50!!

another thing: The monopoly game seems crazy… but the puzzle pieces they give out have free items inside. So far wife received free with the puzzle pieces: box of signature spaghetti, 8 oz can signature tomato sauce… bottle of 100 signature aspirin. Worth it if you have the time. My grand kids do it. Plus this week they have Starkist solid tuna for 1.00 wyb 10 PLUS 14 extra puzzle pieces.

i ordered 5 of them in Carmel NY. No ads anywhere but clerk said 1.00. You can refrigerate them wrapped in foil, but must use by the next day or bun becomes soggy. BTW I asked for tomato on all of them and was not charged. Does it come with them? Also couldn’t find onion in there, unless it was microscopic. Obviously they want you to buy drinks or fries,
which I don’t. Drink diet Snapple with it. They do have a great taste!!

ive been using the 1.00 sandwich coupon daily. Getting artisan chicken sandwich via kiosk where you can add/delete extras. Plus the 1.00 cokes. 2.12 for lunch thru 10/30/18. And their 1/4 pounder is the only meat that is fresh and tastes great. Big macs and others still stink.

update. I renewed my allaccess for 36.00 plus tax for 6 months. YMMV. Call me crazy but I like to listen to Howard Stern in the car and on desktop. I like to laugh in these crappy crime ridden times. Call me crazy but I have been a Stern fan since his WNBC afternoon show way back.

@my4mainecoons depending on clerks… Acme markets (they took over all the A&P 's in upstate NY) will do 2 500.00 MOrders at 1 shot. never tried for more but dont want to ruin it. They are great for One Vanilla cards and Mastercard gift cards that dont work at Walmart. i just tell them I need a MO for 499.00 and they add the fee of .99 so the card has 1 cent left which I toss. Just did the Mastercard deal at Stop and Shop for Shell gas points. Then cashed them out at Acme.

never heard of this place because I am in upstate NY. However… as you can see by my handle… I owned and operated an auto diagnostic shop for 23 years. Extremely successful. This is a guaranteed rip off. No way you can do this service for 14.95. I know the cost’s in this biz. Stay away from folks who advertise this way. You will be sorry.
