If you guys need eggs may I recommend going to Costco? Just a couple days ago I bought 2 dozen eggs for “only” $5.29. Last night I was at Food4Less (a Kroger store) that is known for their lower, more reasonable pricing and ONE dozen eggs was going for $6.49! They also had 5 dozen medium eggs for $31.99. I think I will go back to Costco and stock up on eggs if they are still priced like they were two days ago.

@MISTERCHEAP Yes, that may be. I need to learn to read the terms better, but it was easy to miss as before, for the longest time, you could redeem only 1 cent in Am Ex rewards and it would go through just fine. This new change is a recent change and easy to be overlooked.
It looks like the offer is still on my account as it got kicked off my last order. Maybe I should not try to get the other $20 back after my order ships and just use the offer on a $100 gift card instead.
These offers are somewhat fool proof, it will reflect in your total, so if you’ve done something wrong (say too few points redeemed), no credit gets applied and your total is your red flag. Unlike Amex Offers that you get back AFTER the fact, these are immediate discounts.
And yes, gift cards are the way to go, however they have to be plastic ones, not EGC’s as those aren’t considered ‘sold by AMZ’ where these offers go.
Not exactly fool proof for me, MC. The $40 was reflected in the subtotal before I submitted my order and it showed that I was getting $40 off with the American Express offer, but sometime after I placed my order the promotion was kicked off and it reverted to my gift card so it’s not exactly fool proof. That’s the whole reason why I challenged it because it showed it was coming off before I submitted and then sometime later the offer got kicked off my order, so why wouldn’t you complain about it?.
Thats very strange @MrVietnam , did you go back and make any changes to your cart before final screen checkout? Did you possibly have your gift card set to default payment?
It’s likely it was a fluke glitch of some kind, but honestly I’ve done these CC points offers on AMZ for years and never had an issue like the one you describe. Glad you got it resolved.
I think what happened the first time around I attempted the deal I paid with only one cent in rewards and possibly Am Ex does not allow you to do that anymore, so they kicked off the rewards usage and for some reason unknown went to my gift card balance instead. I am not worried about it anymore as I have been more than fairly compensated for this deal. Note to self: remember going forward $1 is the minimum amount you can redeem in Am Ex reward points. For the longest time you could get these promos by only redeeming one cent, but no more.
The funny thing is on the checkout screen it clearly said that I would be getting the $40 discount. It was itemized there, but I think once the system realized I only used a cent to pay in rewards they kicked it off. Must have been a fluke glitch as you say but they gave me $25 for my trouble so all is good, since I was able to do the deal again buying something else and it worked for me flawlessly.

@mrvietnam Amazon has gift cards to Alberson’s, but there’s no credit off!
https://www.amazon.com/gcx/Gift-Cards/gfhz/category?categoryId=gift-cards&language=en_US&tag=phtwllt-20I am a close friend of MrVietnam and what he tells me is he bought a $60 Albertson’s e-gift card (they do not offer Albertsons physical gift cards on Amazon) and a $50 Golden Corral gift card (for $40 after the $10 off $50 purchase deal on select gift cards). He got $110 of gift cards in all for only $57 after the Am Ex promo and he is happy with that 48% off on two stores he actually shops at. He also had an Am Ex offer clipped that gave him 500 Am Ex rewards points for an Amazon purchase of $50 or more. 500 points is worth $3 and change I think when converted for payment at Amazon. MrVietnam usually does not shop much at Albertsons due to their high prices, but every once in a while they have sales that bring him into the store. Case in point, yesterday they had 2 Thrifty ice cream 1.5 quart tubs for $5. Thrifty brand ice cream at Rite Aid now is about $7 each, maybe more. So using that Friday only deal along with the $5 Fresh Pass credit for December, he got 6 tubs of quality ice cream for only $10.

RE: Office Depot 12/8-12/21: 100% back in Bonus Rewards on Duracell Coppertop AA/AAA 16-pk & 24-pk batteries. Limit 2 items per member.
As I was recycling and buying my monthly FAR Duracell battery pack, the cashier offered me to enroll in Business Select, which gives me $3 a cart rather than just the standard $2. The limit remains 10 carts per month and the $10 monthly spend remains. It costs $49.99 a year as a membership fee and there are a few other perks it offers, such as free delivery for a year and $50 of free printing or pack and ship services. I declined though because Office Depots have been closing a lot in my area and there are only 2 left within a 12 mile radius. If Office Depot were not closing so much around me I may have taken the offer as it would have netted me an extra $120 over a year for only a $50 outlay. If all the stores closed in my area, the membership would be worthless.

@cheapcharlie9 I have had to return every BOPUS order I’ve ever done for that exact reason but go ahead and try it. Maybe they fixed it.
Oh, when you scanned a BC booster coupon at pick up, it did not add the BC to your account. If so, I will pass and learn from your experience.

@my4mainecoons said in Rite Aid 11/24-30 (Inc Pre Black Friday deals on Pepsi 2l 8 Free a/BC and monster drinks) $10BC on $30 booster:
@cheapcharlie9 No. Only did one transaction on one card. Used the in ad q. In the past Chat has said that sometimes it just doesn’t work. That’s why I wasn’t worried.
The first “question” is name, phone number and brief description of problem. I entered name, phone # and wrote “the cashier scanned the $10 back on $30 coupon but I didn’t receive the $10 BC even though I spent $40. It was on 11-26-24, store #12345 and transaction #999999.”. Chat said " one moment please" then “the $10 BC will be added to your account by 6AM tomorrow. Can I help you with anything else?”. Thanked her and signed off in <5 minutes.I guess I could always return the cases of water on the spot at the store if the $10 bonus BC doesn’t show on the receipt.

Did you use the $10 off $30 BC bonus more than once on the same account (different barcodes)? I would be using my account that I had earned BC already from the soda deal. I am afraid when I chatted with customer service they would see I already got credit for the booster coupon and say that is why the second booster coupon did not credit.
