Also, today is National Nut Day so no knocking nuts today please (not even honorary ones).
That’s just great. So now my mother-in-law has her own holiday? I’ll never hear the end of it.

The difference with the unread list is that you can click the “All Topics” button at the top, and then select to see only “New Topics.” Once done with the new threads list, you can choose “Watched Topics” only to see what’s going on in threads you chose to follow… and/or go back to seeing all topics and clear the inbox by selecting “All” under the “Mark as Read” button or marking threads read in forums that are of no interest to you.
I appreciate that this is an option. Of course, I want more. Is it possible to have either:
I realize that this is pretty far down the list of things to do, but if I see that #%&* Planters Peanuts post one more time …
Thanks, and also thanks for all the work that you guys are putting in.
@zapjb And I like Norwegians … and other countries with a shortage of vowels.
After seeing this article, I’m feeling like it is kind of pointless - no way to verify that you are actually getting the services you’re paying for:
I agree that the industry is akin to Congress and used car sales, but you can verify some things, just not everything. Availability and reliability are much more important to me than logging and record keeping. If you really want to guarantee a lack of logs, and no record keeping, wait for the new VPN service from the USPS.
After getting dizzy looking at the Big Chart, I went with Azire. Only on month 4, but I’ve been pleased, and haven’t hit any slowness yet … but I’m not torrenting or doing any kind of video.

After the first day. It took me a little longer to be comfortable with right hand turns.
@mom2jel While I disagree with your suggestion on the credit limit, I will admit that our cards’ cash advance limits are much lower than the bank initially set. In over 30 years, I’ve never used a cc cash advance, so am okay with them being set low.
So that’s 50 margaritas for $40? Olé, Olé.
HostPC - They don’t do a lot of hand holding, but I’m no expert and got multiple domains setup with them for a reasonable price. Minimal downtime over the last 10 yrs, and pretty responsive tech support, although I’ve only needed them a couple of times.
I am not affiliated with HostPC and get nothing in return for mentioning them.
All I get are those goofy (to me) $5 Prime pantry credit, which I never take. If they would switch to the $1 credit, they could “slow boat” 90% of my orders.
I don’t have this unit, but have been using a 22.5cc Hitachi string trimmer for 4 yrs . I’ve been very happy with it.

It just might not be something that is anticipated in this software.
I’m thinking you’re right, but hoping you’re wrong.
One way, and I hope it’s not the only way because it’s not overly convenient is:
Click the unread topics icon in the top menu bar.
Click the “Mark as Read” rectangle on the right side of the page, and then select the forum that you want to mark read.
Wow! I haven’t been in a KK since the mid 80’s. What’s the normal price for a dozen doughnuts?

Seriously, it’s a good choice for fixing cars or motorbikes etc.
I’m mainly down to changing fluids and rotating my tires, but exactly how do you use it when fixing a car?
Thanks.
@richard This answer is worth exactly what you’re paying for it, and is predicated on two things:
File amended returns.
@richard That makes more sense to me than the Patriot Act thing. I’m sure the Patriot Act allows for asking your citizenship status … uh, well I guess that is sort of what they’re asking, just in an odd kind of way.
Hmm. I just got a Chase 1.5% card in the spring, and would have remembered that question. Patriot Act is a pretty good guess, but wouldn’t they need to do it for all accounts, and not just new ones?
I only came in here to comment on how enticing the title is. Laughed so hard that I almost forgot.
Mouse over the icon and then you’ll see the check mark in the circle. At least that’s the only time I see it. I presume it is to either follow the OP or that thread, but haven’t taken the time yet to figure it out.
That seems bizarre. They must have added more space to their data warehouse and need to fill it.
I first read that post in 2011, and I’ve used those steps for the last two vehicles that I tried to purchase. I missed reading the disclaimer, though as it would have helped on my second attempt.
The first time, I was purchasing a very common car - Honda Accord. Because we were not in a major city, I hit every dealer within a 2 hour drive. Am I glad. The best two offers, by over $700 difference, were each two hours away. I know, $700 for four hours doesn’t seem like much, but my wife and I combined don’t make anywhere near $175 hour. The salesman was the best I’ve ever dealt with. Friendly, but efficient. He made no attempt to upsell us anything. I had the check, and he had the car prepped. He said that Honda insisted he go over basic operation of the car, but he went through it at a comically high speed, taking less that 5 minutes. This was my best car purchase experience ever.
The second attempt was an absolute failure, as I was trying to purchase a vehicle which I later learned only had 3 in the whole region. I got one excellent price, but the dealership couldn’t do a dealer trade because I had also emailed the dealers with the vehicle, and they wouldn’t give it up.
As others have already said, don’t give your phone number until you’re confident of where you will buy the vehicle. I highly recommend creating a temporary yahoo or google email address so that you don’t get bombarded with spam.

I’ve had my CC compromised several times in the last decade. Over $30k worth total. Doesn’t really bother me since that’s someone else’s money. Few minutes on the phone to cancel, reverse the charges, and get a replacement card sent. No big deal. Less annoying than a parking ticket.
Ours have only been compromised twice that I know of, and most probably occurred after use at B&M … although one time it was after I bought something at buy.com.

When your CC is compromised like mine was, you will worry.
My comment was specifically in response to cpaynter’s last sentence, and was slightly sarcastic. I hoped that the linked article would imply that, but my social skills aren’t my strongest suit. I don’t give the Googler any more info than is absolutely necessary, and take pretty good precautions when using my cc online.

I’ve been using a Canon MF4370-dn for about 9 years. I print less than 100 pages per month, and the Canon branded toner carts last me at least 3 years. The toner isn’t cheap, but the printer has never even hiccuped. If it died today, I would start my research with Canons.
