The $10 KC was a reward for buying the original item. When you return the original item, they should reduce the refund price by $10 to account for the reward that you’re no longer entitled to. I’m not sure how this could be viewed as a scam…

They sweep your money into partner banks so there is FDIC insurance but I always worry about the time while your money is in their possession but before it’s swept into the partner bank(s). Probably overkill worrying about that however. I’ve not used them but 3% sure is tempting.
