That worked for me too.

RE: Best Balance Transfer Credit Cards
Almost all major CC issuers now have similar rules in place.
BoA rule is fairly recent and now even BarclayCard seemed to have joined the fight against churning.
App-o-rama is now thing of the past unless you have not applied for any CC for last 24 months. -
RE: VPNs
I’m using PIA vpn service and it has worked well for last 3 years.
I have nothing to compare it with since it has been the only VPN I have ever used.
So, take it with a grain of salt. -
RE: Best Balance Transfer Credit Cards
@Deplorable-1
The BoA Card used to be a great option but with BoA 2/3/4 credit card limit rule one has to be very careful.
Alliant Platinum card is another good option and the best part is that they do the BT within 2-3 days over the phone.
I recently BTed to Barclay Ring Card but it’s taking them forever. -
RE: Optical Disk Drive Indirect Purchaser Class Action Settlement [Deadline Oct. 30, 2017]

@marcopolomle trust me, they will not answer questions - instead they will ask you to come to the dealer to have the questions answered… (fml, kill me)
I make it clear to them in my first email that I don’t have the time to visit dealership until the deal is finalized and till then I will only communicate via emails.
Most do if they want my business. -
RE: Best Prepaid Card?
Maybe a “TD Go Card” which is a reloadable Visa Card
It’s basically designed for teens but FAQs say age 13 or over. -
RE: Android "Cloud" Astronaut Mini Collectible
What does it do?
Now-a-days they make thousands of copies and sell them as “collectibles” making lot of money defeating the whole idea of collectible -
RE: iksee WiFi Wireless Endoscope, Borescope Snake Inspection Camera $19.97 @Amazon
@melody said in iksee WiFi Wireless Endoscope, Borescope Snake Inspection Camera $19.99 @Amazon:
Seriously, it’s a good choice for fixing cars or motorbikes etc.
I bought something similar courtesy of FW many months ago.
However, it won’t work without installing some driver from a shady Chinese site.
After installing it it worked but then my laptop won’t boot up.
Had to wipe HD & reinstall everything to make my laptop work again.
If it was plug & play then it’s a different story but they don’t tell you that on the product page. -

@marcopolomle this is why I use Google Voice. I can “block” them if the “annoying” starts
Yeah but I just don’t have the patience or time to listen to their “sale” talk.
They still try to upsell you on the phone but they don’t have that option with email since I ask specific point by point questions. -
RE: How to buy a new car, PhWF (FWF) style
Great thread OP.
This is very similar to how I did it years ago and bought a brand new car $2000 below sticker price.
One thing though, I would advise against is giving them your phone number. You will not have any peace of mind once they have your phone number.
The only time I gave them my phone number was when the deal was already finalized via emails and just before going to dealership to sign the papers and pay by cash.
I think they gave me that price just to see and talk to me after being frustrated for so long ! -
RE: Tips and tricks from an eBay seller (edit: will update original post till we get a wiki)
There is a database called “return exchange” where every return is tracked through your DL.
Every time you return an item they ask for your DL to check if you are a "Serial Returner"
For example, at Staples if you have returned more than 4 items without receipt in a year, they will refuse to return an item. -

RE: AmEx Offer: Spend $99+ On Amazon Prime Membership & Receive 5,000 Membership Rewards
Thanks @Trudi
Most DPs on DoC also mentions that it does not work.
Maybe DW be able to use my Amex Card for this offer. -
RE: Best Nationally Available High APY Liquid Accounts
@Ma-Barker
I believe you are talking about DoC.
AFAIK DoC does not use affiliate links on their site without explicitly stating so.
I think you are OK with posting links to DoC. I used to do that all the time on FW. -

@vegasvegan said in AmEx Offer: Spend $99+ On Amazon Prime Membership & Receive 5,000 Membership Rewards:
Now I have to find out if it will work on Gift of Prime. Doesn’t exclude it by name but does say “does not apply to other Amazon memberships or subscriptions including but not limited to monthly Amazon Prime membership, Amazon Fresh, Prime Video or Prime Student”
Please let me know if it works on Gift of Prime.
I got the offer but my DW has the Prime. -

I wonder if anyone is using Sandboxie.
It’s a great little program with many uses.
I basically creates a virtual machine on the fly.i used to, but uninstalled cause didn’t use much
Wonder why didn’t you use it.
I use it every day. In fact I am currently running six instances of Chrome in separate Sandboxes. That way Google and others cannot track me what I am doing in the other Sandboxes!
Also, sometimes when I encounter a webpage which holds your browser hostage unless you click on what they want you to click on in order to install a malware on your computer, I just right click on that Sandbox and click “empty” and all that shit goes away.
You can also block access to your sensitive files. -

Is there a reason to use Cute PDF if one uses Chrome?
I use Nitro PDF (FAR from Frys back in the day) in FF & IE.I use it to convert Word documents to PDF.
Also, along with PDF X-Change you can do many neat things to a PDF and “print” with CutePDF. -
