Big change over years past when they had quite a few freebies the first part of Thanksgiving week also. Rite Aid’s offering this year is also poor. It seems to be a trend with the drugstores following Walgreens lead. Walgreens stopped participating in Black Friday many years ago.

while the CVS BF have been pared down for a few years now, this is the first year I can remember them having just ONE gum/mint item. In the past, typically been about 3-4 freebies of candy alone (sometimes one Hershey product, one Mars) and a couple of free gum/mint items. Also, they’d usually have a free can of green giant veggies and possibly some other obscure grocery/drink item.
Other than to roll some ECB’s from expiring, there really isn’t much to get excited about. Rite Aid has the best offerings by far this year.

I had a $6 off $30 in one of my ExtraCare accounts, so I decided to get most of the freebies in one order and then use those ECBs to get the DNA kit in a separate order along with a 99 cent free item to get over the $30 threshold. Everything worked as planned but CVS taxed me on all of my ECBs and the $6 off $30 even though 4 out of 6 of them were listed on my receipt as CVS store coupons. I thought you were charged tax on store coupons. I know at RIte Aid you aren’t. Still turned out to be a $2.70 MM after the total purchase coupon but I was hoping for more. Now what will I buy in one order to spend the $29.99 ECB I got on?
