When i recycled my cartridges last Wednesday i saw they have the 21ct Airborne gummies on clearance, so i bought two bottles to meet the spending requirement. Later i checked online and realized i could have got 42ct or 72ct for that price or even lower elsewhere. So much for the “clearance price!”
I bought two transactions of the 8 gallon jugs of Crystal Geyser spring water. They go for $1.29 regular price, but only 97 cents after 25% back in rewards coupon. You will be hard pressed buying anything at Office Depot that you can’t get cheaper elsewhere. This is something we need and would have bought anyway. You have to take a little hit knowing you will make it up later and more when you get your $40 in rewards. Just a data point: About 3 weeks ago I stocked up on Crystal Geyser gallon jugs at Super King grocery store when they were on sale for 69 cents each. The last week of this month you can meet your $10 weekly spend by getting the 100% free after rewards batteries or k cups. Since that offer goes until 12/2, you can buy again on 12/1 ir 12/2 and satisfy the $10 spend for recycling for the month of December, too.

Not knowing what constitutes a new week at Office Depot, I think I will wait until Monday, 11/11, to try this offer for week #3. The ad runs from Sunday to Saturday, so most likely the new week begins on Sunday, but out of an abundance of caution I will wait to make my next $10 purchase and 10 cart recycling until Monday. Hopefully this is indeed a weekly offer and it is not just a misprint. I guess we will all find out together early next week.

I bought their Highmark brand softsoap refill and some Tylenol cold medicine on clearance. You can also check Brickseek to see what clearance deals are out there. OD/OM also has a clearance section on their website.

Don’t we wish. In the end I may end up purchase more postage stamps, but I will wait until the rewards are close to expiry before taking that move in the hopes a better option comes up, as I already have over $1,500 in postage sitting in my safe deposit box.

My store had item 792989, Greenmade Professional Grade Box (27 gallon storage box) for $11.99, tons of them, which is what I bought on Saturday and turned in 10 cartridges in the same transaction. Yesterday I checked online, and it is now on sale for $9. I plan to buy another one each week it’s available and will just add something to bring the total sale to $10 or more. We’ve mostly been using the Staples ink rewards to stock up on toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, batteries, mop refills, and other household items. I’ll probably do the same with the Office Depot rewards unless there is something really good in their Black Friday ad. Thanks for the tip on the 100% free after rewards batteries, MrVietnam. I’ll buy those during the final week.

Those Greenmade boxes are rock-solid, and that’s a darn fine price even if you’re not using rewards. I’ve got a half dozen that I use for rotating our kids’ toys in and out of storage and for holiday decorations, they’re quite handy.

Anyone who purchased/recycled yesterday showing you earned $40 in the rewards activity yet, whether or not the certificate has been issued yet? I think by the next day it should at least show you earned it in the rewards purchase history. If not, it might be we will have to call in to customer service from here on out to try to get manual credits. Last week’s rewards showed up in the purchase history rather quickly.
Last week mine was posted to my account by the time I got home, and paid the following morning, that follows the guidelines. Looking at the details, it also says while supplies last, meaning the bonus is limited to a specific number of redemptions?

I would be interested to know what happens. Please inform after your return. If it were at Kmart or Sears they would actually take the amount of the used rewards out of your return, so you would get nothing back if you decided to return, but not sure how Office Depot handles it. So I guess even though the terms say the purchase and recycling have to be in the same transaction, that is obviously not the case. Customer service also told me that earlier in the month, too.

So this week is actually the 3rd week of this promotion with two more weeks to go, Now I am just waiting for the $40.21 I earned yesterday to have be added to my rewards balance. It shows us in my rewards activity but just hasn’t been added to my available rewards balance yet.

you really lucked out by recycling on 11/1 @MrVietnam glad it worked out. Office Depot has always been good to me when it came to crediting missing rewards as where Staples has at times given me a hard time even when I was due the credit (ink recycling).

It says in the terms that the purchase and recycle needs to be in the same transaction, but like customer service told me early on when I called that is not actually the case. All that is required is the purchase happen in the same week as the recycling.

However, if you can find that item on sale at another store (supermarket, Target, etc) you can PM to that store in the same sales week as the other store’s flyer.

Math never was one of my strong subjects. You are right, MC. After tax I paid 10.2 cents a cartridge, not a quarter. I don’t know where I got that quarter cart figure from. Thanks for helping me get a low price on my ink cart purchase several months ago, MC.

I made a purchase and recycled 10 cartridges in the same transaction last week and received my rewards as expected. I’ve made no other purchases this month and decided to just recycle 10 cartridges by themselves yesterday. The transaction showed up as earning $40 in rewards last night and all my rewards are now available to use today. So I’ve made one qualifying purchase and have received $80 in ink rewards.
