Direct link to offer
I didn’t see any confirmation page for enrolling in the promotion. just printed the webpage for records.
They explain the promo and have a FAQ section at the above link.Audible is offering a $20 Amazon gift card when you finish 3 titles that are at least 3 hours long by March 3rd, 2020.
You need to be in a trial or a membership by 1/31/20. If you meet that requirement, then all you’ll need to do is listen to three titles by March 3, 2020 to earn your reward.
Finish three titles that are at least three hours in length between 1/1/20 – 3/3/20.
The reward email will be sent on or around March 17, 2020.I just signed up for the free trial and will get started on listening. The trial offers 2 credits for paid books and some Audible originals are free so this looks to be 100% free for the gift card if going the trial route. I found the audible original book “Peter Pan” that’s 3 hours 17 minutes. Any other suggestions for books just barely above 3 hours? Also I didn’t see anything in the T&C about listening on 1x speed so I assume playing it on 3.5x speed is okay. You can just play the books on your phone overnight while you are sleeping.
The gift card will be sent via e-mail, so be sure to opt in to Sales and Offers e-mails in order to redeem your credit.
When you complete the challenge, you’ll be notified via email with instructions on how to redeem your reward. Once you follow the redemption instructions in your reward email, the Amazon credit will be added to your account and will expire after 30 days. Because this is the only way to receive your well-deserved reward, be sure to stay opted in to Sales and Offers emails.
Audible Free Trial Membership
Regular Price: $14.95/mo Free with Trial
What do I get?
Free membership for 30 days with 2 audiobooks and 2 Audible Originals.
After trial, get 1 audiobook and 2 Audible Originals each month.
You will get an email reminder 5 days before your trial ends.
No commitments. Cancel anytime and keep all your audiobooks. The reward email will be sent on or around March 17, 2020. You do not need to be a member at that time to qualify. Yo can cancel during your free trial period as long as you have listened to 3 books.
For those unaware, you should be able to still get a free trial even if you have previously been a member. I have been a member and cancelled numerous times now, utilizing numerous promotions, including one just a couple of months ago, and when I log in, it shows my membership status as not enrolled, and offers me a free trial like a new user, even though I am clearly not.
Seems like this would be available for everyone so check it out if you are wanting to do this but think you can’t get the free trial because you’ve previously been a member.
Just log into your account on audible.com (even if you cancel your membership, the login and account and data still work, you just have no access to new book credits or any old book credits you didn’t use).
Then go to membership status, and it will show if you have the free trial option like I did. I didn’t go to any special link or anything.
Terms and Conditions:
Offer available until March 3, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Valid for US customers only. Offer will only be available to Audible members who are in a trial or membership as of 1/31/20. Eligible Audible members with a linked Amazon account who listen to three entire titles that are at least three hours in length between January 1, 2020 and March 3, 2020, will receive a promotional code for a $20 USD Amazon promotional credit. Customers will not receive additional promotional credits by exceeding the three title threshold. Promotional codes will be delivered via email on or around March 17, 2020. You must be opted in to receive promotional emails in order to receive the reward email. You must redeem the promotional code within 30 days of receipt by clicking the link in the email. This will add the Amazon promotional credit to your Amazon account. The Amazon credit will expire 30 days after it is deposited into your account. The Amazon promotional credit does not apply to digital content, and only applies to products sold by Amazon.com (look for ‘sold by Amazon.com’ on the product detail page). Products sold by third-party sellers or other Amazon entities will not qualify for purchase by the Amazon credit, even if ‘fulfilled by Amazon.com’ or ‘Prime Eligible.’ Shipping charges and taxes may apply to the full value of discounted items in your order. If any of the products related to this offer are returned, your refund will equal the amount you paid for the product, subject to applicable refund policies. Unless an Amazon Gift Card is the stated benefit of the promotion, promotional codes or credits (including those placed directly in accounts) may not be redeemed for Amazon Gift Cards. Offer is limited to one per customer and account, may not be combined with other offers, is non-transferable and may not be resold. Audible reserves the right to modify or cancel the offer at any time. If you violate any of these terms, the offer will be invalid.

I am a long-time member, and this Challenge is the first thing I saw when I went to Audible and has the message that I’m already enrolled. Thanks for the heads-up.
-
I was a member several years ago so my account information is still active. But I have not had a paid account for five years at least. My Audible membership status says “not enrolled” but when I signed in the promotion showed up and said I was already signed up for the “Audible Challenge” promotion. I don’t see any way to confirm this but it’s worth a try.
FWIW - I do not see any trial or other reduced rate promotions when I click on renewal information, just the regular $14.95 subscription offer.

Oops, I signed up for this then noticed this FAQ:
What if I cancel? Am I still eligible for the reward?
If you cancel your membership before March 17, 2020, you will not be eligible for the reward.

I see $14.95/month, so spend $29.90 and get a $20 reward. Pay for a year then it’s $9.99/month

It’s a triple secret membership called Inactive Light.

Audible just changed the terms of the offer. Now they say:
In order to qualify for the Challenge, you must be in a trial or a membership by January 31, 2020 and continue as an active paying member through March 17, 2020. The terms didn’t use to say that. The change happened very recently.
What if I cancel? Am I still eligible for the reward?
If you cancel your membership before March 17, 2020, you will not be eligible for the reward. So this deal is effectively dead for those of us who were planning to listen to 3 books during the free trial period and then cancel for no money out of pocket and get a $20 Amazon gift card.
-
@mrvietnam so is inactive light an active member?
-
Listening while driving is distracted driving.

So is playing the radio then.
-
@dangeruss Then don’t do that either if it takes away your focus.

I’m sure it takes away my focus. Not enough to be considered dangerous though. I always prioritize safety over listening to something (as I’m sure most people do). Would be nice if there was a way to easily rewind (in case you have to focus on something on the road). Perhaps the echo auto will help.

Is there a way to see if you are being credited for each audiobook you listen to during the time period? Presumably any audiobook that is 3 or more hours long qualifies, and I’ve already listened to 1, but I can’t find anywhere to if I’ve been credited for it. I’ve been an active Audible member for many years on the 2 audiobooks a month plan. I have 10 credits accumulated, so I’m using those to get 3 audiobooks this month for this Challenge.

Not that I know of. You might be able to find out that information from calling ot chatting with csutomer service though.

And more importantly if you return the audiobook, do you still get the credit?

These would all be good questions to ask customer service.

I saw somewhere in the FAQs that your reading can be tracked, but that it takes up to 48 hours. Not sure where you find that, but check out the FAQs.
