it brings up all the reams at the link at my URL, I always put ‘select’ just in case so people know to order what is shown, if it turns out to be ‘all’ great, but don’t like to take the chance.

correct, you won’t earn rewards if you pay w/ rewards, but with 15% back at Rakuten, it’s a MM as long as your sales tax is 10% or under, plus 5% back with Chase Ink card, as much as 20% CB on top of the rewards back.
In my case, sales tax is 6%, so a 14% MM on top of rewards. Ordered the HP paper at $5.99 a ream, it’s better than the Hammermill at $5.

Personal experience, Hammermill has always struck me of feeling a little cheaper/ gritty, I prefer the Staples MP or HP brand paper to it. I can deal with the extra $4oop since I’ll spend the rewards and a little extra CB never hurts.

You are right, MC,. Put 4 110- wt. card stock reams in my online cart along with the coupon code and it says:
35723 - 100% back in rewards on paper single reams.
Promotion not applied: Item(s) that qualifies is not in your cart. Add the qualifying product(s) and try again.So evidently they lied. Indeed, it is not on ALL paper reams, just the ones they selected (available at your link). I wonder why they would claim it was for all reams when it is not?
The heaviest weight they had for a ream that was part of the “included” reams was the 32 lb Staples premium laser paper, so I will get that.

Also I called my staples the other day and they said they’re doing in store recycling again.
If we mailed empties for April and we don’t receive recycling Rewards this week then it might mean that the mailed empties will credit for May and post in June. So might be wasting empties if we recycle in store this month. We’ll know in a few days.

Rewards are typically issued towards mid-Month, so expect somewhere between 6/10-15. They typically expire at the end of the following month (ie July 31) but lately they’ve been extending expirations to 90 days with the pandemic. YMMV on that continuing.

I paid (after tax) $76.99 out of pocket, but got back $70 in rewards and $10.57 cashback from Rakuten, for a $3.58 MM on the 4 reams. The rewards do not expire until 8/31/20. Now how to use the rewards with taking as little loss as possible.

@MrVietnam Staples pays out rewards in $5 increments, not sure what your pre-tax total was, but you should show a balance not yet paid out (say $4) in your rewards that will payout when you reach $5 in rewards. (just a guess) doesn’t make sense that you only got $70. They really should pay out the full amount when advertising 100% back in rewards and not lop off that amount that doesn’t fit into a $5 round up.

Actually they broke up my rewards into two rewards of $35, so I could use a $25 off $75 coupon (which are pretty common coupons - I seem to get those almost each week in my e-mail) and only have to pay $15 OOP.
Any suggestions what to get for $75? I guess even with Staples high prices, when you take a third off the price (via the $25 off $75 coupon) the prices become more reasonable. We have over 2 1/2 moths to use the rewards, too, so there is no real hurry. I guess I can wait for a deal.

even better @MrVietnam that they issued them that way. now you can stack BOTH with a $15/60 coupon. Easier to spend $60 less $15 less $35 = $10 oop plus cashback. Can use for household stuff (TP, paper towels, detergent, coffee, snacks, etc)
