Something’s up with RB. Site is totally new, and old sign-in is no longer working as of tonight (earlier today, it was still the old site and worked). Not sure why they would pull this late on a Friday but I guess we’ll have to see what happens in the next few days - probably Monday. Links to T’s & C’s and Privacy Policy are to the RTS Holdings website, and were last updated in May of 2021. Can’t use the Contact link as it requires a sign-in to proceed, and I’m not creating a new account until we give it a few days.

So did I lose all my banked Recyclebank points that took me years to accumulate 5 and 10 points at a time? I had a ton of points banked (like 18,000+). I suppose in their T&C’s they reserve the right to cancel of change the program at anytime for any reason without notice, but why not even allow us to log on now. Something smells about this.

"the Recyclebank program, however, has changed and is now only available for residents in partnering municipalities. "

i think its totally unfair they didnt even warn me, i could have used some of the points on magazines. i asked if i could use them for gifts for people "in partnering municipalities. " and they wont even do that

im not happy i wasted all my time getting the points for nothing. i used to get my magazines from there.

I agree they could have at least given us a heads up, so we could have attempted to redeem our points before the changeover. They are. however, a member of the Better Business Bureau. I suppose we could contact the BBB and let them know how we feel.

IIRC, in the past, every 1,500 points we had we could redeem for a $5 gift card, but that ended years ago.

Pfft, a little late to the party. Same here, several thousand points lost that I would have gotten a few mag subs with, at least. Oh well, fun while it lasted, I guess.

True, but at least I was able to keep up on certain mags. They never really had anything good for the points.

FWIW, I did create a new account using my same email address, and it looks like the vast majority of rewards are still there. I didn’t do a deep dive, but there seems to be a ton of rewards available (my usual/local stuff is there as well as dozens of pages of other stuff), and it looks like all the earn opportunities are there again - probably reset with a new account. Since it’s still nickel and diming points, as best I can tell, I’m not planning to start up again. I got lucky, had my points available down to under 100 between the lack of earns at the end of the old site, and getting all my old/local stuff every month (650 pts/mo spent, IIRC). I was actually at the points that I couldn’t earn enough to actually redeem anything each month.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone contacting the company to ask about getting their old account/points reinstated. I did that a while ago w/e-rewards, and they were glad to oblige. That saved me hundreds of real dollars on gift cards!

I tried setting up a new account but it didn’t work in my area.

Recyclebank could have at least given us a warning beforehand of their intentions to deactivate our accounts and wipe out all our points. Not a company I would ever want to do with again. Shame on you, Recyclebank!

Recyclebank sucks hard to deactivate people have been earning points for years without notice. A reputable company should at least give a heads up!

I’m sure they know there would’ve been a rush on rewards if people knew that their points would become worthless. Clearly they didn’t wanna pay out.
