Prior FRESH PASS Members (Acme/Alb/Safeway, etc) email offer for 50% off for a year, $10mm with 12x$5 credits ex 12/10
-
-
It’s available to everyone.
-
Yeah, its for everyone. 12@$5/month and points don’t expire. I think I’m in.
-
I’m in too.
-
OP please update title with expiration date of 12/10.😉
-
Not much of a MM, only $11, and you have to remember to spend the $5 each month or else it isn’t free and temember to cancel. I think I will pass. Now if there was some sort of an offer that I could stack, like an Am Ex offer, then I might reconsider.
-
The stores near me always have some flower bouquets for $5, so last year I was getting those once a month (they can last a few weeks). So just for that this is worth it for me, even if I don’t get any other benefit. I was hoping the Amex offer would work on this to make it better, but unfortunately it’s on the full price.
-
Safeway is my ‘go to’ store so this is a good deal for me. I was a member before (cancelled in 9/24) and they often gave me freebies. I was surprised to see 2 freebies on my account this morning that I think are due to being a FreshPass Member: McCain frozen potatoes or onion rings and Milton’s Gluten free crackers. I received another freebie (Casa Verde plant based meal), but I think this one was just for being a J4U member.
So for me, it’s more than just a $10mm
ETA: It looks like the monthly $2 Starbucks grande beverage is still a FP benefit.

90% of what I buy is on clearance. I rarely buy meat other than 30 lbs of chicken for the cats every 6 weeks and I buy that when it’s on sale. Sometimes I used the $5 towards chicken last year. With the $5 I might splurge 😃 and buy something that’s not 50% off, e.g. a quart of yogurt or eggs. Unfortunately it doesn’t work on liquid dairy. As with any other coupon it doesn’t save money if you buy something that you wouldn’t otherwise buy.
Today I got 2 1/2 gallons of ultra pasteurized milk, an 8 oz. pkg of cheddar and 4 Challenge butter, all 50% off. Got back 50¢ iBotta for each butter. Ultra pasteurized milk lasts for months after the exp. date if unopened.
-
I haven’t ever seen dairy clearanced at my store. Is it just tagged in the usual space, or do they move it elsewhere?
I signed up for FreshPass today, and Rakuten said they give $10 cash back for FreshPass yearly membership. Hopefully that will come through, it didn’t say a minimum cost.
-
@hbg1 Found the $10 back under SAFEWAY. Clickthru shows $49 subscription. It should apply. Repped.
Note: Fresh Pass works great to stretch your food dollar when you’re in Vegas without a car and want to provision your hotel (eg MGM Signature) fridge.
Ms SOZ just pulled the trigger and got 5% with Chase Freedom Unlimited. Google Calendar marked to cancel on Nov. 9, 2025.
-
I’m paying with $200 prepaid Visa from Staples (no activation fee, 5% Chase Ink) which will be empty when it comes time to renew in a year. I liked having staggered expiration dates so I’m getting one a week.
-
@kimi Ms SOZ got the free Milton’s and free Aura Bora 6 pack before joining Fresh Pass today.

Interesting. I tried that, with both a Visa and MC from Staples, and both were rejected, saying it only takes credit or debit cards (despite these being supposedly debit cards). Had to use a regular credit card. I’ll just have to make sure I cancel in time next year.

@hbg1. In all Shaw’s stores most departments have their own clearance section within the department. An exception is the deli case where things stay in their shelf space and are stickered 50% off. So dairy is in the dairy section, meat at the end of the meat case. There’s also a larger clearance area for grocery, HBA, household, etc. My larger store has grocery carts with seasonal stuff and re-sets next to the big clearance area. I walk into stores, make a quick check of the clearance areas and leave if I don’t find anything. The 50% stickers have the regular price in the upper right corner but I go to the shelf to see if it’s on sale. Then it’s 50% off of the sale price. The Challenge butter were $1 each after iBotta and are now in the freezer. I haven’t paid full price for butter in 10+ years. I’ve paid full price for milk once so far in 2024.
-
Does the 2% Ibotta rebate work for Albertson’s affiliates Fresh Pass orders?
-
I decided to get Fresh Pass on one of my 4 accounts. It is a guaranteed $11 MM, with the chance of being a $21 MM should Rakuten pay out the promised $10 on the annual membership. it is kind of sad in today’s deal environment that this is considered a deal. There’s not too many truly good deals out there anymore.
Do you guys remember from last time around, if you cancel your fresh Pass account early will it still be valid until the expiration date or should you cancel like the day before to make sure that you don’t get charged??

You can cancel the renewal any time after the 15-day refund period.

In the title of the thread it says:
$10mm with 12x$5 credits ex 12/10
Wouldn’t it be an $11 MM as you get $60 of credits and pay $49, making it an $11 MM?
-
@my4mainecoons
Thanks for the information about the clearance sections in Shaw’s. I have Safeway here, and I haven’t noticed a clearance section per department but I’ll take a closer look.I have a stash of butter in my freezer as well, but I haven’t seen any decent sales/free butter in a while and I’m always looking to stock up on things like that. Thanks again for all the detail.

Close enough. You’ll most likely get 13 months of $5 credits, instead of just 12.

Yes, but the service is taxable in some states, so $10 was a nice round number, depending on tax situation, could be as little as $6 or 7 mm.

Anyone get the $10 cash backl from Rakuten, 15 hours later I am not seeing anything tracking. I guess if I don’t see the $10 tracking in the next two weeks I can just cancel for a full refund as long as I don’t use the $5 off $5 for this month.

Nothing yet, but I"m going to give it a few days, and then if it doesn’t show up I’ll contact support.

@mrvietnam is there a limit for the CB?

If I take a 30 day free trial do you think I can sign up for the $49 deal on 12/9?

The free trial does not give you the $5 coupon.

give it 48 hours, not all tracking shows up in just hours.
-
I’ve received tracking on mine, all within 24 hrs.
-
I had to go to the Missing Cashback screen on the Help page and submit my confirmation email details. It was theoretically approved and is currently Pending. This happens to me much more often with Rakuten than it used to, I just try and watch to make sure the cashback is registered and I request it if not. As far as I can recall, I haven’t had anything rejected when I make the manual request.
-
I just bought Splash and Clipper tea using November’s $5 FP. Paid $2.99 and getting back $7.99 in rebates. No CRV here.
-
I signed up earlier this week and just saw that the $5 credit doesn’t expire until 12-15.

I signed up today, but didn’t get the $5 offer in my account right away. I called and they added it, so I went and redeemed it Had a great offer (ending today) for the bags of iceberg salad for 90c (reg $1.99) went and got 3, some clearance beans and a thing of Greek Yogurt. Total was 60c.
No tax on the Fresh Pass, $10 back on Rakuten (hopefully) and hopefully 13 months of $5 credits counting the one they added today. $39.99 for $65 in credits, not bad. Don’t really use the fresh pass perks all that much other than the $5 monthly credits.
ETAdd: $10 tracking at Rakuten just hours after.
-
It takes a bit of time for the $5 credit to appear. It’s not immediate. My account with a $5 exp. Dec. 15 got another credit that exp. 12-31.
Anyone else do Bonus Path offers? Yesterday I learned that the pre-clearance sticker price might count towards the total. Wish I understood the algorithm. Anyone know?
