Thanks, MC. This is one of the few rebate offers that California participates in also. Not bad to spend $5.01 or more and get five dollars back. Too bad it is limit 1.

I submitted on Friday and still waiting. The Reddit thread has a lot of comments of people getting the reward email within 2-3 days. How fast did you all get yours?

Does this have to be from a grocery store or can it be from any store as long as you’re buying groceries? Like I just bought some cereal at CVS using a rain check can I use that receipt for this rebate?

Reminder Mr V., for Calif. you must buy ONE item of $5.01 or more, 3 boxes of cereal won’t work in CA if $1.89 ea.

if the receipt shows the item as a food item you should be ok at any store. T&C specifies you spend $5.01+ on a single grocery item, but does not say it has to be from a grocery store. Thus CVS, Rite Aid, etc s/b ok. Of course that is an educated guess, not a guarantee.

Buy $5+ eggs on Friday. I wonder if it would work if one paid with a $5/$5 j4u.

you must spend $6 or more, not $5. it is a $5 back on $6 or more. The receipt has to show you spent $6 on items, not sure how the J4U discount hits the receipt.

My recent Safeway receipt has the $5/$5 as “Additional Discounts” before the tax, and the balance line says $0. I probably wouldn’t risk it.
I forgot about this yesterday and spent $5.30 or so at a supermarket. Would have added something else, but I guess I have time before it expires.

@hbg1. I’m going to get a receipt from the SCO trashcan. I don’t buy any single item that’s $6+.

It is easy to do, Just buy a half-dozen eggs.

Maine, you don’t have to get a single item, your total spend must be $6+ to submit for the $5 rebate. You said your egg receipt was $5 and change which wouldn’t qualify regardless of the Fresh Pass $5 off. Please re-read the T&C which I posted.
Only in Calif. are the terms different, you have to buy ONE item of $5.01+ to submit for the $5.
-
@mistercheap I don’t spend $5+ at a time regardless-- except on giftcards. My usual receipts are $2-$3. Buying eggs to DD with iBotta is a suggestion. I have plenty of eggs so not really interested in iBotta offer except if its MM.

Got the email with $5 visa today. Took 5 days for anyone wondering.
When fruit goes on sale, it’s very easy for me to spend over $5 in one transaction.

@pakle I work from the other direction, ie I purchase based on discount. e.g. Sumo Citrus are on sale this week for $1.97/lb. 😍 I’m buying one lb. at a time and using the $1/1lb. mq from 2/2 SS. Then I add fillers to use $10/$10’s and $5/$5’s making my receipt totals $2 or less.

Curious what is this $1/1lb. mq from 2/2 SS, $10/$10’s and $5/$5’s you speak of? Are they unlimited?

@pakle The $1 Sumo coupon was in the SmartSource insert included in the 2/2 Sunday paper. The $5/$5 come from the Safeway/Albertsons/Acme/Shaws etal supermarket for joining their paid program. We get a $5/$5 every month. The $10/$10 is a 3 week promo ending tomorrow: buy $50 in select gc, earn a $10/$10. I got Lowe’s, PetSmart & Zillions gc. I was buying a $400+ item at Lowe’s so I got 9 $10/$10 for 9@$50 Lowes gc. I got the Zillions card that works for Amazon, Chewy & Lowe’s and a couple of PetSmart cards for another 6 $10/$10.

is it necessary to take a picture of the UPC from the product or is a picture of the receipt enough? It looks like on the form that you submit. It wants you to put both. Is that needed?

Nope. I just attached a picture of the receipt and got the rebate.
