Any benefits (besides it being a $3.10 MM when the dust settles) of being an AARP member?

the most useful one for me is the restaurant (outback) or (carrabas).

the most useful one for me is the restaurant (outback) or (carrabas). They offer discounts to various movie theaters, restaurants, etc. also discounts on rental cars, some insurnace programs, etc. Nothing too exciting, at one time you got free popcorn at AMC theaters I think, not sure if that is still valid.

I’ve been an AARP member for 15 years. It was really helpful when Walgreens had a relationship w/ AARP – Walgreens gave AARP members the same Senior discounts given to those 65 and over. But that relationship ended a couple of years ago.
I recently started shopping for a Medicare Supplement plan. I ended up choosing an AARP Supplement Plan. The premiums are a little cheaper so my AARP membership has been helpful to me again.

The cashback offer is for First Subscription Purchase. I guess it would be wise to use a spare e-mail address and phone number and credit card just in case it recognizes you from a previous membership. I wonder how much time needs to pass before you are considered a new member.

Offer has been made better.
$8 Chase offer still in play, TCB now up to $12.12 for one year plus get a free cell phone power bank as part of sign up.
-
The TCB offer is now $15.15 for one year new subscription ($15) and Chase still has the $8 cash back.
Gift options are a trunk organizer or a power bank. You can also decline the gift but that doesn’t lower the price.
$8.15 MM.
Standard one year membership is $20/yr.
If you really want the membership then the 5 yr plan is the way to go.
The 5 year membership is $79 and TCB cashback is $25.25. After $8 Chase the net is $42.75 for 5 yrs, $8.55/yr.

@mistercheap I was looking at the car & auto insurance. I’d be concerned about policies lapsing each year with the membership. Also, how to maintain coverage as identities change. A gap in auto coverage could affect the premium.

I understand, in that situation just ignore my comments. Also shop around, there are a few insurance carriers that give senior discounts that may not require AARP membership.
