LEAVE POST IN HD DUE TO PENDING PRICE INCREASE, makes current rate a savings of $20.

I tried last year to find a way to pay ahead of expiration date for another year of Prime to take advantage of a discount price then. And I couldn’t. Does anyone know how to pay the $99 now to add on another year even though the subscription has several months before the renewal date?

@dionaea You might look into wether or not you can gift yourself a years membership. Might want to post a question on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/prime/pipeline/prime_gifting_landing?tag=phtwllt-20

@angryeyebrows I just did.

The $20 price hike will apply to existing renewals beginning on June 16.
Sometimes American Express has offers to get Prime cheaper. When mine expires in about 5 months I may go without it for a while until a new Am Ex offer pops up. For my current Prime membership I only paid $50 (plus about $7.75 in tax) thanks to an Am Ex offer I took advantage of.
At the new price of $120, it comes to you are paying $10 a month for Prime when paid annually.

I Will Not Renew Amazon Prime.

Those that are getting a gift of prime for themselves might want to follow this guys instructions and call and have auto renew turned off. Seems Amazon makes it so you can’t do it yourself and customer service has to do it for you.

I see my student membership is set to renew in October for $49.99. “On October 21, 2018, you will be charged $49.00 for a year of Prime Student.” Will it also be affected by the price increase?

Classic mega-company, inconsistent results for me. I tried chat (my Prime doesn’t expire/renew until January 2019) and the overseas agent said he couldn’t offer me anything.

I heard you could buy the gift of Prime gift card today at $99 and pay with your banked Amazon gift card balance. Usually when you buy aPrime it has to be new money only. I plan to buy one before midnight.

Just like clockwork, Amazon Prime is now showing for $119 on their website. Good thing I bought another year at $99 last night, Thanks for the reminder, MC. The only bummer is that Amazon Prime is taxed, so it adds to the cost. I was happy though because I was able to get another year paying with my banked gift card balance. When you buy the Gift of Prime they send you an e-mail that when you click on a button in the e-mail it is supposed to activate the gift year. I guess I can just save it indefinitely and use it whenever I need it. It doesn’t look like it has any kind of expiration. It is like a Forever stamp, resistant against price increases and never expires, unless my e-mail ever gets hacked.
I got my current year of Amazon Prime for half price due to an Am Ex offer were they gave you $50 back if you signed up for $99 Prime. I wonder if they do that every year or if that was just a one time thing?

I will not renew. Jeff Bozo can build his empire with somebody else’s money.
