Credit Report Freezes (and Unfreezes) are now FREE nationwide (by Federal Law) *PSUEDO-MIRROR*

Posted the following thread in the “Credit Forum” a few days ago:
Credit Report Freezes (and Unfreezes) are now FREE nationwide (by Federal Law)The info above, IMO, warrants exposure to as many eyeballs as possible, hence the reason I’ve posted a psuedo-mirror here (to Hot Deals).
I asked the mods to mirror it here (Hot Deals), but apparently there’s no true “mirroring” function at this site.
In the meantime, a copy/paste of my thread (sans hyperlinks) was posted in DD, where there’s been a spirited debate over whether enough eyeballs will see the notification.
Mods: Please allow this psuedo-mirror thread to remain in HD for at least a few weeks. Thereafter, if you truly think it doesn’t belong here, feel free to delete it.

Thanks for posting, but it has already been posted earlier here: https://phatwalletforums.com/topic/10628/effective-friday-september-21-2018-credit-freezes-and-unfreezes-are-now-free

Nope. That’s the COPY/PASTE of my thread from Credit that Mr. C posted to DD. As I wrote in the OP Of this thread:

In the thread in DD, the opening sentence even states:
Effective Friday, September 21, 2018, Credit Freezes (and Unfreezes) are now FREE. (posted by THE DIGGLER)

My apologies. I was mistaken. This is good information. Now I won’t have to pay to unfreeze and freeze back again my credit when a good welcome bonus comes along.I have heard about copying and pasting threads from other boards such as sd to here, but this is new copying and pasting PW to PW.

It’s all good.
This is good information. Now I won’t have to pay extra money to unfreeze and freeze back again my credit when a good welcome bonus comes along.
Bingo. That’s EXACTLY why I feel that this info should be exposed to as many eyeballs as possible! A nationwide consumer positive protection has finally come out of all of these security breaches.

Thanks for posting this here.
I, for one, would probably not have seen it otherwise.
Good information for everyone to have.

Supposedly if you have an existing relationship w/ a credit monitoring service, it’s supposed to be able to soft pull your credit report, even if it’s frozen.
Tried pulling my latest Credit.com report (which pulls Experian). Upon trying to login, it attempted to grab an updated credit report/score, at which point it informed me that my Experian report was frozen and had to be unfrozen in order for me to login.
Didn’t have such an issue w/ FreeCreditScore.com (which is owned by Experian).
At least unfreezing (and refreezing) is now free, so if I want an updated report/score, I can take appropriate action.

@thediggler Had the same thing happen with credit.com - annoying!
