People on sd have been successful in getting $10 cashback from ebates by following these steps:
Try the following trick to get $10 from the most popular cashback site. Wave
- Open the link in the OP. It will take you to the page which shows the 99c plan. Copy the link.
- Visit HULU through the cashback site or simply activate the cashback. It will not show you the 99c plan this time.
- Paste the link copied in step 1 and register.
Enjoy $10 cashback!
(I tried these steps using topcashback which gives $10.50, but 3 hours later I still do not see the $10.50 as pending, so you might have better luck with ebates. Over there it shows up within the hour.)
UPDATE: Yippeee! After 3 hours my 99 cent Hulu transaction has $10.50 in cashback pending! So if it goes through that means I will get a year of Hulu for $1.38.
Merchant Date Purchase Cashback
Hulu Nov 23 2018 $0.99 $10.50 pending

Man, I got tricked. I thought limited commercials meant no commercials, but really it means the most commercials.
Thatās the one thing I hate about Hulu - the forced commercials. I guess for $0.99c and the $10 CB itās not so bad.
Not sure if theyāve improved, but the commercial stuff really bothered me. Especially when it freezes up and you have to restart the show and they play another 10 commercials.
Too bad you canāt combine this with the amex $5 off $5.
Maybe Iāll just cancel in a month or two when I get fed up with it, and itāll be a MM.

You cannot prepay however you can add Showtime for $4.99 for 3 months. That way you are paying $.99 via the AmEx offer and have access to Hulu & a premium channel. Once you set up your account you can go to āmanageā & add Showtime.

I was using it today, and after not using it for a few years, itās gotten a bit better. Iāll give it a try, but even if I cancel in a few months, still a MM after ebates.

@dangeruss Lifeās too short to waste on commercials.

Looks like the Ebates cashback is now $5.

No, I still see the deal on TopCashback for Hulu, but you have to follow the steps I described to get it. The pending credit may take several hours before it shows as pending on your account.

@MrVietnam I wouldnāt count your chickens before they hatch. Because the CB is pending, doesnāt mean it canāt be reversed/pulled prior to the payout period which takes a few months to mature. So Iād tell everyone it is high YMMV until that point. Many of these CB reporting tools are āautomaticā, not done by a person, but itās possible Hulu could review CB payouts and decline them. There likely is some T&C that unless the offer was listed at TCB, it could be declined (ie, 99c a month).

@MC: I know, but even if I donāt get the $10.50, 99 cents a month for a year of Hulu is a steal.
-
Put it on a credit card that forgives balances under a $1 and you end up with a free year!
-
Hulu declined my $10.50 in cashback )through Topcashvack) for a new Hulu subscription, but that is OK. 99 cents a month for a year is still a great deal.

Wow. Topcashback went to bat for me. I did nothing after the declination, but this morning I got this e-mail from Topcashback:
(so this will make each month of Hulu 11.5 cents for me ā What a deal!)Hi TopCashbacker!
We hope youāre enjoying your week.
We wanted to let you know about the Hulu cashback which has been received in your earnings. Whilst there was an exclusive offer on the Hulu website, cashback wasnāt meant to be awarded however this isnāt something we were made aware of by the retailer.
We donāt want you to miss out and although Hulu has agreed to pay $5.00 of your expected $10.50 cashback, weāve gone ahead and funded the remaining part ourselves from our own pocket. The amount will progress as normal for you and as soon as itās payable, youāll be able to request this through whichever method you wish.
If you do have any questions regarding this, please donāt hesitate to let us know.
Thanks,
TopCashback Support

@mrvietnam If Hulu were smart, they would let people upgrade to the commercial-free plan, while just paying the difference.
