lithium-ion batteries Class Action
-
If you’ve ever bought a cell phone, laptop, tablet or power tool that runs on lithium-ion batteries, there’s a chance you could get a piece of a class action settlement.

Bump. The previous claim deadline of July 19 has been extended:
“IMPORTANT: All claims must either be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. *
Hawaii Time on January 19, 2019, or for mailed in claims, postmarked by January 19, 2019, in order to be considered valid.”
How much will my payment be?
This amount is not known until all claims are received and the Court approves the final settlement. Since the total settlement payout is a fixed amount, the payment amount that you receive will be based on several factors, including:
- The number of valid claims filed by all claimants; AND
- The count of products purchased by all claimants
Regardless of how many claims are filed, no money will be returned to the Settling Defendants once the Court finally approves the settlements.
-
Not sure when or why this happened, but the deadline is one day earlier now:
“IMPORTANT: All claims must either be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. Hawaii Time on January 18, 2019, or for mailed in claims, postmarked by January 18, 2019, in order to be considered valid.”
-
When you file an online claim they do not ask for your address. Just your name, email address, postal code, and mobile phone number.
How will I receive payment?
Pending final approval from the Court, claimants who have filed valid and timely claims online will receive convenient digital payments, distributed directly into an online account of the claimant’s choosing (for example, an Amazon.com or PayPal.com account). Claimants who prefer to receive a physical check must submit a written request by January 18, 2019 to Lithium Batteries Indirect Purchaser Settlements, c/o KCC Class Action Services, P.O. Box 43454, Providence, RI 02940-3454.

New info out on this settlement. Check the email you signed up with.
Here is a link to the pdf to save you from having to look it up

I thought the email was spam and deleted it as “phishing”, so I can’t retrieve it from the trash folder. Was there anything we needed to do? Or was it just informational?
-
@dionaea it was just information that some things have changed and I guess the settlement is a little lower from what I gather. The final court date is May 20 and all the people that are in this settlement will be starting to receive their checks. Hope this helps you. Nothing in the information asks for any action. It is just an update.

Thank you, specialsguy, for the update.

I got this final payment also. But when I activated the virtual card from the email link, I could not see the full card number in Safari. Chrome did not work also. Finally I tried Microsoft Edge and was able to see everything.
