Cumbersome and confusing and not the improvement they claim “we” wanted.

To be clear on a couple of concerns I had, I asked SacBee Rewards a few questions and confirmed that:

There is no purchase necessary to use and participate in the new Rewards program
To start using, “you” will be given a two-week, no-strings-attached digital subscription to the Sacramento Bee and be entered into the SacBee Rewards program. No credit card information is taken. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to subscribe, your digital account goes away, but your
free access to SacBee Rewards continues. (you will be limited in the number of monthly online articles you may read on other Sacbee.com digital platforms.)

To enter a contest one must press the Submit button multiple times.
A slow, one at time, process that resets after each entry!

There is no specific web address for mobile users.
The new site recognizes the device you are utilizing to view the site, and configures accordingly.

This may already be common knowledge, but just wanted to share

I still want to know who “we” are. That question has never been answered by the Sac Bee people

On the new site, does anyone get the correct number of points for watching videos and reading articles. I watch and read more than the max and am lucky if I get points for 1 or 2.

I read the articles first because they take the longest to post to the activities page. I click the first one, switch back to the rewards site tab, wait for it to say “you’ve earned 150 points,” then close the tab with the article in it and repeat the whole pattern until I max out at 5 vid views for a total of 2,500 points. Then I do the Facebook share of one of the articles for 750 points. I repeat the click-one-at-a-time routine with the videos and move on to the other stuff. I did notice that for several days the reader quest was only awarding 300 points but should be 600. And there was one day that something was supposed to have been worth 500 points but only 495 were awarded (which the Bee claimed would be automatically adjusted but I haven’t seen a 5 point credit yet).

You’re welcome. I’m not at all familiar with Triton and only skim the ClearChannel thread for prohibited content so I’m barely familiar with that one either. If Triton is already covered in the ClearChannel thread, just participate in/follow the existing thread rather than creating a new redundant thread. In that case, your idea of just adding a link to the OP of this thread to the existing ClearChannel thread would be exactly perfect.

However, you guys are a long running, tight knit group. This thread includes a lot of discussion and help/tips… and even personal life updates that I don’t see going on in the ClearChannel thread (everyone there just posts facts like answers, winners, etc.). So, if the majority of this group agrees (and contrary to the general discouragement of off topic posts), I’d suggest you all post your Triton facts in the existing ClearChannel thread but feel free to continue to discuss Triton in this thread with your “local” group.

How things change doesn’t have to be set in stone. You all can try different things and make modifications/tweak as needed to devlop a solution that works best for most.

The OP (original poster) can edit the thread title just like you edit any other post. When you click “Edit” under the 3 vertical dots in the OP (original post), the topmost line of the text editor is the title… you can edit it just like you edit the body of your post.

Good morning every body the posts for today Friday December 8th are on page 11 for the trivia this will be the last week I do headlines, when I post the New list for next week it will not have them on it ?
I have decided to go ahead and do the trivia posts at least until my surgery on the 21st if I feel up to it after I come home or while I am in the hospital I will post the trivia until the site is not active.

Kateivan, the reason for the last prize being offered through 1/19/18 is that the prize is NOT a local SacBee prize, but a MULTI MARKET PRIZE. This means that SacBee entries will be accepted through 12/31/17 while other markets will continue to offer this particular prize through 1/19/18.

Also, do you know if they have a mobile site like the SacB? If so, could you post it? I am thinking extra points for video watching, but I am only surmising at this point.

This is not a user friendly site whatsoever and I’m not liking it . I haven’t decided yet whether I will continue on this site beginning next month. There aren’t very many point opportunities available on this site either

If you have the time, check out Club.B95.com Very similar to the “old” Bee Buzz site, less points, but very “familiar feeling”.

I have also looked at the listing of members on morethantrivia.com Mostly radio stations and TV. I tried your mobile link you provided. Just took me to their site. No special 5k videos to click on. Maybe it would be helpful for one of you to post a brief explanation of your (former) program, the recent changes, and a summary of what you’re trying to accomplish going forward in the national Clear Channel thread… along with a request that they help by posting any tips/feedback in this thread. Some in that group are likely to have knowledge of other outlets or opportunities, even if they don’t use them themselves.

Good morning every body the trivia posts for today Tuesday December 12th are above I noticed a survey about the Home for the Holidays Contest on the old site under Survey’s and the Bonus Word where our Bonus words were at I’m still using that page for my trivia points until the end of the month or until I can no longer get my points credited there !!!
I don’t do the videos because I got one heck of a virus from one of the links and even three repair shops could not clean it up and I had to get a NEW HARD DRIVE for my computer I was using at the time, so I stay away from the videos.
All of you talk about the mobile site I have not figured out how to get to that area either every time I try to get there I end up right back at the old BUZZ POINTS SITE so I gave up on that too !!!

If The BEE does not make the new REWARDS SITE more user friendly I am going to take all my points and put them on 1 or 2 good contests to try and get something good and get out of this unless we find a site that we can move our points too and play at that site I am very unhappy about the fact that I had over 7,678,567 points and " THE BEE " cut them so far down I was very angry I did use some of them when they let us know how much they were going to reduce them before they did it but not enough, I don’t like the new REWARDS SITE and I received a list of gift cards that are supposed to be prizes to bid on and if you are going to go out and eat alone that is fine but I for one don’t like to eat alone !!! If I am going out to eat I like to have someone to talk to and I don’t want the person I invite to think they have to order a salad or half of a sandwich because I only have a $25.00 dollar gift card !!! I’m done wineing for one day sorry

I’ll update this post as soon as possible with SacBee Rewards stuff. My work shift currently is such that I may not be able to be as active in the mornings as previously (for about the next 6 weeks), but I will eventually post any clues from the new rewards site not already posted by others and will respond to everyone’s posts about where we might migrate the Triton portion of our activities.

One thing I do wish to point out about Club B95 based in Albany NY …

Membership eligibility reads as follows:

“Unless otherwise specified in connection with particular offerings, participation in the Service is open only to natural persons who are residents of the Albany, NY metropolitan area and who are 13 years of age or older.” (Emphasis mine.)

The official rules for the $4K home for the holidays sweeps sets forth eligibility as follows: “The Sweepstake is open to all legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of entry. Each entrant must have a valid mailing address in the United States (a P.O. box will not suffice).” I haven’t checked each of the national prizes but since that’s the biggest one they have going, surely all the smaller ones have the same eligibility.

My reading of these two rules together is that they don’t care where you live as long as you aren’t trying to win the local prizes. But maybe L.A. would be better. If the Bee can characterize an AMC Theatres gift card as a “local” prize (with no locations nearer to Sacramento than the Bay Area), then maybe we could consider L.A. local?

The last Sacramento radio station participating in Triton / ClearChannel reward was Jack-FM, which went away once the station converted to 93.7 The River earlier this year. To my knowledge the only TV station was FOX 40, but they dropped Triton trivia ages ago.

So far a couple of radio stations have been suggested, Go Country 105 in L.A. and B95 in Albany NY. I don’t know whether it matters which one we choose. The national prizes are the same, and I believe that they won’t care where we live, as long as we’re not messing with the true local prizes and only enter the national contests (and not trying to earn and redeem points via multiple media outlets).

I’ll go with whichever you guys think is best (either of the ones mentioned or another). That way we can still try to win the national prizes through a Triton/ClearChannel outlet, while giving the new SacBee Rewards a chance in order to shoot for local prizes.

And btw @taurus742 if you were to enter and win a restaurant gift card, I volunteer to be your dining companion (I’d pay for my own meal). I don’t like to eat alone either.

Thank you @kateivan I just discovered B-bucks thanks to you. ( club.b95.com ) Looks quite similar to the old Bee buzzer account, not quite as many points, but “familiar”. Also, do you know if they have a mobile site like the SacB? If so, could you post it? I am thinking extra points for video watching, but I am only surmising at this point.

Yes! The mobile version of the B-Bucks page at http://club.b95.com/m/MobileLogin.aspx. You can get the same 13K video points as currently available on the soon-to-be-defunct Bee Buzz Points page. The national prizes are the same, though there aren’t as quite as many earning opportunities (the listen and win stuff on B-Bucks doesn’t come close to the read and win on Bee Buzz). If you want I can keep looking, there are more media outlets still participating in Triton / ClearChannel rewards and maybe there are some with earning opportunities close to what Bee Buzz Points had been offering.

I have looked at various newspaper subscriptions, no luck. Most you have to be a member (paid) or at least within their zip code range. I have also looked at the listing of members on morethantrivia.com Mostly radio stations and TV. I tried your mobile link you provided. Just took me to their site. No special 5k videos to click on. Just the normal ones. Perhaps you have a link to the 13 video links? I know it’s a lot of work, but a Plan B once the old Bee site goes away. Just a thought and as always, welcome to ideas and suggestions from others. Any ideas @fivetalents ?

Thank for the suggestion. I’ll try to cobble together something over the next several days, unless someone else does so first (I’d do it sooner but haven’t time to think about the wording as carefully as is needed due to additional work hours).

Someone did already do this in a Facebook group and the group moderator (former main mod in the national trivia thread on FW) suggested just picking another active media outlet. But folks on that complementary thread on PhW likely would be willing to share other ideas.
