IBOTTA: Free Turkey and sides offer is back for 2022. Redeem 21 offers by 11/18 for free $14 Butterball Turkey and then unlock 3 sides (all major grocery chains)
-
see your IBOTTA account for details and to activate.
-
Mine is only 16 offers but in the last month, I’ve only redeemed 7 offers, so highly unlikely I’d even get to 16. I’m a vegetarian, so I don’t want a free turkey, but I’d donate it.
-
Meh, if ibotta doesn’t bring back the 9 free Thanksgiving offers at Walmart, then ibotta can go stick that turkey where the sun don’t shine.
Although that does remind me that I really should use up that free cornbread mix I got last year.

The cornbread was good. I still have the fried onions that I opened last year so yeah those should probably be tossed.

32 offers for me.
I like that one doesn’t have to go to WM and hunt for things that are oos.
I’ll harvest 8 SCO receipts because we get 2% back on any Shaw’s receipts.
I’ll probably buy ink at Staples one at a time. iBotta actually gives CB on ink purchases unlike TCB et al.
IDK if I’ll get to 32 but if I do I’ll pay for the turkey with a $20/$20 j4U Reward.
-
We got the frozen bird before the prices zoomed.
The fixins are a relative trifle.

.Me too. No way I will make to that number.

@niniss For me it depends on what I find in the clearance sections at Shaw’s and the deals at Rite Aid. Unfortunately I redeemed 20 offers last week because I found deals at both stores. Don’t forget that if you’re ever just short you can buy e.g. a $20 WM gc through iBotta. You can use the money in your iBotta account to pay for it.
-
@my4mainecoons oh I didn’t know that. Thank you! will keep in mind in future
-
@niniss When iBotta first introduced g.c. one could buy a $5 WM gc and people bought one at a time to earn bonuses. They raised the minimum g.c. at WM to $10 and now it’s $20. One could also get g.c. to Home Depot and many other stores for $25 but those appear to be unavailable ATM.
-
@my4mainecoons
You can now get Kroger gift cards too, $20 minimum and 2% Cashback.
-
If one shops at a Safeway owned supermarket that gives a % back on all purchases there’s a j4u for 8x Points wyb $50+ PetSmart g.c. I bought a $50 PS gc at Shaw’s and earned 400 pts (= 4 Rewards => redeem for $6/$6 meat if nothing else). Submitted the receipt to iBotta and received a transaction towards the Turkey bonus and 2% back. IDK if I will redeem the 32 offers I need for the $14 turkey from iBotta but can easily earn >$14 by earning 2% back on receipts.
$2.50 NBPR rebate wyb turkey if you’re in a participating state.
I don’t have freezer space for a turkey so IDK what I will do if I earn the freebie.
-
The turkey is a Butterball Turkey Boneless Breast Roast, I believe. That’s what is pictured and that is around $14 when I looked at the grocery stores. They are actually pretty good. The dog’s may not be happy, but it’s lot less of mess to cook and still lasts us several meals.
My mom got the offer for 16 rebates and we did 6 yesterday.
-
@briarycliffs Unless it’s changed It’s a Butterball breast or $14 on any brand of whole bird. The first year I got the breast and gave it away cuz we don’t like white meat and we like turkey soup. Last year I got a $13 whole Butterball and received $14. Could also have gotten a cheaper brand (Shady Farms) for lower price/lb.
-
Pretty lame sides: gravy mix, cornbread mix, cranberry sauce. Remember all those boxes of free cornbread mix we got from SavingStar?
I only need to redeem 4 offers to get the free sides. Is that what everyone else got? It’s a low # considering that I had to redeem 32 offers to get the free turkey and I have to redeem 15 offers to earn $1 weekend or midweek bonuses.
-
Mine was 4 to unlock the sides. On the plus side, I got $14 back for buying a $8.99 turkey breast. Nice little moneymaker.

What store did you get the $8.99 turkey breast from? I actually wanted to ask if the free turkey can only buy from Kroger or can be any grocery store?

Kroger, it was by far the cheapest. Walmart wanted $13. It was a surprise sale as it was marked at $9.99. The app will show you where the free turkey can be purchased, even if it’s still locked. My choices were Kroger, Walmart, target online, bi-lo, food city, and the drugstores that don’t even sell turkeys.
-
@briarycliffs Thanks! I can’t believe I actually finished the 32 offers last night so it’s unlocked now and i saw the available stores. I checked kroger app the Turkey breast isn’t cheap. Your price must be special at the time. Btw, it has to be butterball brand, right?

I’m pretty sure it has to be butterball. The turkey breast is now at $10.59 according to the Kroger app. That’s still cheaper than Walmart.
-
New freebie. $4 back wyb Bob Evans mashed potatoes.
Last year I got a whole turkey for <$14. This year a boneless breast might be the only way this is a MM.
-
@niniss for the turkey you can get a Butterball breast or any name brand whole turkey. I’m just back from WM. Shady Brook whole turkeys are $0.98/lb. I found an 11.5 lb bird. Checked UPC and it matched. Paid $11.23.
I got the Bob Evans potatoes. UPC matched but the product didn’t come up when I scanned my receipt even though the offer was activated. I’m hoping that they will fix it. There’s the option for mashed cauliflower or sausage but my store only had the potatoes.
-
@briarycliffs well, must be regional price then, because I was at Kroger a couple of hours ago and the 3lb breast was $13 something. I plan to look at Walmart tonight.
-
@my4mainecoons oh that’s a great news that other brands work too! Thanks

Wow you guys had 32 offers? Mine was only 16 and I finished all of mine and almost made the 16 on my wife’s phone, but didn’t feel like going shopping last minute.
Now I gotta figure out where to buy it. Walmart seems the cheepest so far… The Amazon fresh has butterball on sale for $0.50/lb, but sadly they’re not on the list for ibotta. Does anyone know if there are any stores that might be on the list doing a sale on Butterball this week?
-
@dangeruss only the Breast has to be Butterball. Whole bird can be Shady Brook brand which was $0.98/lb at WM.
I got the turkey & Bob Evans at WM. Paid $14xx, got back $18. I made the mistake of buying the other sides at Shaw’s not realizing that the rebates were for less than Shaw’s prices. Actually paid for corn bread mix. 😞

Didn’t realize the whole turkey could be a different brand. Is it just Shady Brook or are there other brands?
-
@dangeruss scan the bar code to check. Last year we had to buy at WM and I checked them. The cheapest brand didn’t match. Shady Brook & Butterball whole birds matched. Again (3rd time in this thread 😉) if you want the breast only it has to be Butterball brand. If you want a whole bird it can be any matching brand. You have to check the UPC in the store to see if it will work. I haven’t checked any supermarket turkeys because they were so expensive. Only this week did Shaw’s price for Shady Brook drop to 97¢/lb. I would have preferred to buy it at Shaw’s but I had no way of knowing that the price would drop.
