According to CNBC, 360 Bed Bath & Beyond stores and 120 buybuy BABY stores are set for closure. There isn’t an exact count of employees to be affected in the CNBC article.

Sad, they were a really good chain in their prime. Linens and Things went out years ago. More eye sore empty stores in some plazas.

I heard on my local news that the closing sales will start this Wednesday and gift cards won’t be accepted after May 8th.

Earlier today, Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. filed for voluntary Chapter 11 protection.
We appreciate that our customers have trusted us through the most important milestones in their lives – from going to college, to getting married, to settling into a new home, to having a baby – and we wanted to reach out to you to explain what this means.
Our stores are open and serving customers. However, we have initiated a process to wind down operations.
What This Means for Our Customers
We wanted to make you aware that several of our programs and policies may be changing soon. As of today:
• We expect to process returns and exchanges in accordance with our usual policies until May 24, 2023, for items purchased prior to April 23, 2023
• We expect Gift Cards, Gift Certificates, and Loyalty Certificates will be accepted through May 8, 2023
• We will no longer accept coupons or Welcome Rewards+ discounts beginning April 26, 2023
• We expect all in-stock orders placed online both prior and after our bankruptcy filing to be fulfilled at this time

I went today to exchange a sodastream canister - my store tends to run out and I wanted to get it with the 20% while I still could. I checked my app beforehand and discovered I had $5.08 in credit. I’m not sure where it came from, but they were able to apply it at the register after they scanned my account code.
So before you go to spend your gift cards, if you joined their rewards program you may want to check for a reward or other credit to use up as well.

The Container Store will accept “expired” Bed Bath & Beyond coupons until the end of May.
The coupons entitle customers to 20% off a single item, the home storage retailer said.

Big Lots said Thursday that it’s “assisting shoppers nationwide” by accepting expired Bed Bath & Beyond coupons until May 7. Customers that bring one of the iconic blue-and-whites into one of its 1,425 stores will receive 20% off a purchase of $50 or more. The offer is only valid in stores.

Big Lots is closing stores. I wouldn’t be surprised if they follow BB&B.
