When I checked a couple of hours ago, Subscribe & Save was available, making it $16.90 if you have 5 items/15% off in a monthly delivery. It looks like you missed the deal (again).

It’s still available. You have to be Prime and signed in to see the S&S discount. Though it does say that it will be available 1/28

Interesting… I could see it on a non-Prime account this morning too.
ETA: actually I see S&S on the non-Prime account again right now so it is was OOs earlier but is now available again.

This morning it says Subscribe and Save to Prime to get that price.

I hope my post wasn’t confusing. Yes, Prime is required to get the S&S price on this deal. However, even people with a non-Prime account can see the option to join Prime to get this Prime-only S&S price/offer (fortunately, not all S&S deals require Prime).

What does this Subscribe and Save mean? Subscribe to what?

You decide what you subscribe to. This is the list of all eligible S&S items: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=as_li_ss_tl?rh=n:5856181011&sort=price-asc-rank&linkCode=sl2. You’ll see that it contains over 100,000 items, spanning 27 departments such as grocery, health, automotive, tools, toys, kitchen, pets, office, sports, garden, electronics, etc.
You’ll only receive a S&S delivery on any given month if you have at least one product ordered through the S&S link on a product page (instead of the “full price” link). Once an order is placed through S&S, it will be redelivered every month or whatever interval you set it at (up to once every 6 months, and you can edit delivery intervals at any time). You can skip any delivery you want or cancel any subscription at any time without penalty. I never allow a S&S order to be shipped unless it has at least 5 items so that I get a 15% discount on everything (instead of 5%)… but you also have to know how much stuff sells for online and locally to know if the subscription price is saving you money. If you have any S&S orders pending, you can view them here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/subscribe-and-save/manager/viewsubscriptions/?tag=phtwllt-20

So what happens if I sign up for the 30 day Prime trial, order 5 jugs of the oil, then cancel Prime before the end of 30 days? I see the more useful 5W30 for about $15 BTW.

I’m honestly not sure, but I see no reason why you wouldn’t still get your S&S at the discounted price since your invoice locks in the price. Note that you can place 5 different S&S orders for the same item (i.e., 5 different receipts/invoices), to get the 15% discount.

So how the heck do they make money at $15 and free shipping? The oil alone is more than that in a store.
