Hey, before they go can someone snatch the Free Bithday post/list and make it a permeant post over here, under free stuff. I would but I don’t know how to make stuff permeant. Someone made a huge list … Also, the $ for car test drives is another great post.

Looks like the forums are closed. I get no response when I try to visit. The last time I was able to get a page was 10:28 EDT.
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.The Deals page is still there for now.

@frugalfreak i have been online since ~93 (dial up bbs) and have never actually sat through counting down a site closing. especially the elite dial-ups, one day the modem just stops answering.

Yes I used to telnet into a bbs, Can’t recall the name, it was run by a guy that worked at local airbase, Fatwallet was home though, never loved a site like that, every morning, it was my first stop.

Kind of threw up a bit when my home page of fatwallet.com/forums/hot-deals/ redirected to ebates. So went directly to fatwallet.com to see the goodbye message. Yeah, I’m a bit sad today too.
I wish you guys luck because while SD has had a lot of the good deals posted recently it never felt quite as comfortable as FW. Hard to explain but I think the folks who stuck around understand.

If you no longer want to see the redirect to ebates.com, run “nmap fatwallet.com” That will at least temporarily keep you from redirecting and from seeing the goodbye message until you change ip address. Sadly, the same does not work for ebates.com.

On 10/9/2017, searching google for site:fatwallet.com “archived from” yielded 175,000 results. Yesterday it was down to 171,000 and just now it is down to 168,000 results.
In other words, Google’s cache of archived fatwallet threads appears to be going away. I would imagine the same would apply to Google’s cache of “active” fatwallet.com threads.

This what I do:
- Google Search a particular thread on site:fatwallet.com/
- Copy the url from the search and paste it into the WayBackMachine site
This brings up the particular thread I am looking for on FW since all FW urls are redirecting to eButts.
