The sales associate that I spoke to in-store believed that only in-store purchases were eligible for the rebate, @sonofzeus, and showed me how the receipts differ:

store receipts start with H, then the store number and transaction number (H1234-12345)
online receipts start with W (for warehouse?) (W987654321)

Accordingly, I would expect that HD uses the store number in the receipt code to determine whether a purchase qualifies for the rebate match…

I’d be very interested in learning if an online pickup order qualifies for the rebate match, despite the fine print indicating otherwise…

I placed an online order two weeks ago where part of my order shipped free, and part of it was in-store pickup (not available at the store, but too heavy to ship to home for free); the CB portal that I used clearly stated that in-store pickup or payment via HD gift cards would void my CB (both of which I was doing, at 100% GC), so, I didn’t expect to get any CB out of the deal…

Amazingly, I received an email the next day informing me that I had earned $30 CB from my purchase (pending for 45 days, of course)!

So, maybe there’s wiggle room with HD, too…? Order online, pickup in eligible store?

@kohlspowrshopper This morning, we’re going to our nearby/participating HD to make precise measurements of the countertop microwave we may buy. If it meets our specs, I will buy online via portal, pay with HD GCs, pickup in-store, and report success/failure of the CB. Hope this data point helps you and the phatwallet gang.

@sonofzeus I suspect @KohlsPowrShopper got CB because part of the order was shipped. Maybe there’s a glitch with Home Depot, but if you don’t get cash back, you might want to try to see if you get CB when some items in the same order ship to your home and some items are picked up. Whenever I’ve done a 100% in store pickup order, I’ve never gotten the cash back… which is dumb because the spirit of the referral to the merchant is the same so a shipping notification shouldn’t be the only trigger or way to prove a completed transaction.

I’ve been taking advantage of this offer since the day they started. I used to use the mail in slips, but now do the online exclusively.

I have ordered items from Home Depot at their kiosk and had the items shipped to me.
No matching with Menards 11%

I have ordered items from Home Depot website while I was at home and had the items shipped to me.
No matching with Menards 11%

I have ordered items from Home Depot website while I was at home and had the items shipped to the store.

I have ordered items from Home Depot website while I was at home and picked up the in-stock and eligible items the store.
No matching with Menards 11% (it’s a different receipt format!)
When this happens, I return the item and buy it right back immediately.
(I’ve done this only when I’ve ordered something online when I didn’t realize that the 11% match was on, such as ordering things on Saturday night and picking them up on a Sunday when they announce the rebate match.)

If I see an item on the shelf at Home Depot, buy it and they match the 11%.

As you can see, In stock merchandise only, not valid on special order, select SKUs are excluded such as commodity items, bulk discount, and value priced items.
Not valid on services, rentals, or labor.
Not valid for Gift Card purchases, Weber Grills, and John Deere products.

What I HAVE noticed when submitting online rebates is that when you copy and paste the receipt number from the receipt that they mail me, sometimes it takes - sometimes it gets denied. If denied, I do it again and eliminate all the spaces in the receipt number.
