Not sure what the “Over molds” are about, but for $10 more you can get a Black & Decker 20-Volt drill with two Li-Ion batteries from Walmart.
Imo, worth the extra dough as those 20V batteries can be used in lots of other 20V B&D tools as well, including even yard tools like weed trimmers, etc.
Hey, it’s my EDC! I love mine in the Olive Drab. Pretty much the perfect size and shape for an everyday carry, though sometimes I feel like removing the safety pin just for ease of use". Hard to beat at that price.
I also saw a tip about reversing the clip so that you can more quickly take it out of a pocket and more easily flip the blade out.
This is a very nice set of tools. I have three of them.
The TROUBLE is that after a year or so of use, the case comes apart at the hinges. You can still close it up and lock it, but when opening it, the left or right compartment falls off into your hand.
Found this interesting DIY by searching for “table” in the Q&A: Q: can this be mounted (fixed) on a workbench, or does it only mount on rails to slide?
A: Actually I have my own mounted onto a work table I made myself. If you cannot afford to buy a ready made mount like myself then by all means make a wooden worktable for the saw.
I made my own 6 feet long by 18 inches wide, then floored it with 3/4" construction ply leaving a wide enough opening where I bolted the saw for easy cleaning. I then cut several pieces of the ply the height 18" x 2-3/4" and placed them apart equally and placed another layer of the 3/4" ply to form a level layer to match the top of the miter saw. All that was done using scraps of 3/4" construction ply. It will take approx a little more than 1/2 a sheet of ply for the top as I described
Literally looked into this on Wednesday night (1/17) and planned on stopping by Thursday morning to get one. Price at multiple stores jumped to $9.98 first thing that morning. Verified by price check in-store (even though shelf tag showed $14.98 as the sale price). Would have ordered it online, but Monday’s online order took an HOUR in-store to pick up (light bulbs and spade connectors). Not a fan.
They’re changing their ordering system, so most reps aren’t familiar with it. About a month ago pick up for me was brutal, almost left. Past two pick ups were less than 5minutes and I was back in my car.
I got this heat gun from HD years ago and have used it a lot.
It was about the same price 10 yrs ago which I guess means the price is effectively lower now with COL/inflation. OTH, I’ve been using it for 10 yrs.
Every summer I use it to strip paint and to remove window glazing.
I’ve used it to melt snow off of the snow blower.
Never knew you could use a heat gun to light a charcoal grill.
Occasionally have used it to dry things but more often I use hair dryer for that.
