Any idea what Customers Bank Ascent MMA that is guarantied through June at 2.25% will drop to after that? Is it that 0.25% they are showing for the regular MMA? Wonder what will happen to them as all the depositors move their money out of there.

To sign up via the web app, visit https://join.t-mobilemoney.com and follow the instructions to open an account.
T-Mobile MONEY accounts are held at BankMobile, a division of Customers Bank. Member FDIC.
- That sends you to a application form. Where are the details and terms of the account posted?
- If you already have a Customers Bank account, would you have to figure those deposits into this account to stay under the $250K FDIC insurance limit?

RE: Best Nationally Available High APY Liquid Accounts
They denied my online application saying I applied for TWO accounts, which I didn’t. Wouldn’t their online application form prevent you from opening more than one account anyway?

Probably a rewards checking account.

Northpointe Bank now offering an account paying 2.30% guaranteed for 12 months with minimum deposit of $100,000. https://www.northpointe.com/earn230/
Weren’t they the bank that credited interest quarterly? On this account it’s monthly.

Yes on their 1.95% account which requires a minimum of $25,000, it’s credited quarterly.
So is this the same account? I have 1 cent in it after transferring the money to higher rate accounts. If I put $25K+ back in will I get 2.30% or do I have to ask them or do I have to open a new account?

RE: Best Nationally Available High APY Liquid Accounts
Awesome! Just got the account a few days ago. Assume this move will allow them to keep that rate longer than if they got flooded with more depositors.

Popular Direct up to 2.26%
Not excited about this bank. There’s a $25 fee if you close the account within 180 days of opening the account, and they won’t guarantee the rate for any amount of time. You could earn the rate for a couple of months, then they drop it to 0.25%, and you’re stuck because you didn’t earn enough to cover the $25 early termination fee.

So? Just drop your balance to $0.01.

Capital One 360 MMA 1.85% (from 1.75%) now.
https://www.capitalone.com/bank/savings-accounts/online-money-market-account/I have that account and it’s great if you have a C1 branch near you. High online rates with local bank access. Also have their checking account so I keep most of the cash in the MMA and transfer funds to checking at the branch to cover bill payments. Just wish they could do instant online transfers between those accounts.

EBSB Direct
They mention,
As a member of both the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the Deposit Insurance Fund of Massachusetts, all of your deposits are insured in full. That means that every dollar you have on deposit with East Boston Savings Bank is fully insured without limit.
How safe is that Deposit Insurance Fund of Massachusetts compared to the FDIC?

Anybody open a Northfield Bank Platinum Savings account. When I fill in the online form it tells me to call them to finish the application. When I call, they say I will get a letter telling me why I can’t open the account.

they limit ACH’s that are initiated externally to $5,000.Where did you see that?
-
RE: Best Nationally Available High APY Liquid Accounts
Just called them and was told they accept the limits set by your originating bank. If you want to ACH withdraw $100K, no problem.

Guess Dollar Savings Bank will bump up to over 2.05% as per it’s stated policy.
"**Highest nationally advertised annual percentage yield for day of deposit to day of withdrawal accounts, no minimums required."Has anyone had this happen? Do you have to call them to get that rate?

RE: Best Nationally Available High APY Liquid Accounts
Must be the Fatwallet effect. They got swamped with new accounts after their rate was posted here, and they have more money now than they can use. Opened my account a month ago no problem.

Anyone who got in under the 2% account is grandfathered in to the rate.
What do you mean grandfathered in to the rate? Those that had a 2% rate will continue at 2% and not drop to 1.85%? That would be great on Popular’s part.
-
RE: Best Nationally Available High APY Liquid Accounts
HAHA, I applied at Northpoint right after the post about Popular dropping to 1.85% but before the post saying existing accounts stay at 2%.
-
RE: Best Nationally Available High APY Liquid Accounts
If you want to set it and forget it, a CD might be a better choice. Personally, I applied at Popular on Tuesday and verified my trial deposits today. Account should be funded by Monday I assume. Pretty smooth procedure.

SalemFive Direct up to 1.85%!
But I can only pull $15K a day, $25K a month into my account. If I push from from another account like PurePoint, will there be a few days that no interest is earned, negating the higher rate?

@jtownsucks46 I’ve moved my money out of SalemFive Direct because they do not increase the interest rate for existing customers without a hassle. Only new accounts get the improved rate. For existing accounts, you can contact them and they will offer to match the current rate if you deposit some amount (varies) of additional funds. You have to repeat this for every rate increase you want to take advantage of
I just called them and they bumped up the rate to the 1.85%. Not a big hassle for the great rate.
