Thanks guys…yes, i had a feeling that i wouldn’t be able to see the transactions that you do with the card that do not go through paypal, within the paypal site and only when you click the link to the “Synchrony Bank” side…

Yeah, when you click over to read about mastercard benefits on mastercard’s website it lists all the features the card COULD have but as we all know, each credit card provider decides which features they actually want to include…which is why i need that brochure that paypal will send with the card…

Glad to hear it isn’t hard to get CLI’s with Citibank…they are kind of chintzy with initial lines…When i applied for my Bank of America credit card they STARTED me off with $10,000 and i was able to get it upped to $20,000 within just a few months!

So, if ultimately, the Citi credit card is the one i stick with, then i hope i can get it upped to say around $12,000-$15,000 within a reasonable period of time…Though that would probably be faster and easier with Synchrony…

And i am hoping the Paypal card has at least the features i mentioned here (i know it does have extended warranty and price protection as it is mentioned on Paypal’s website)…

I will report back when i receive the card (hopefully, in the next day or two) and let everyone here know…

The nice part about the card is that when the statement closes, you get credited with the cashback and can then move it right into your paypal account and from there move it out to a linked bank account if you chose to do so…And there is no minimum amount as far as redeeming the cashback…

I applied for the Citi Double cash also and was approved, though with a lower credit line ($5000 as opposed to $8000 with the Paypal card)…So, i will run with both and see which one i ultimately prefer…

By the way, how is Citi about getting credit line increases? do you have to wait awhile to try and do they give good increases as you go a long? ( heard Synchrony bank who manages the paypal card, is pretty good when it comes to getting CLI’s)

I applied for and was approved for the card and currently waiting to receive…I was wondering if anyone here that has the card can answer some questions for me…

1. When you get the card and use it (without going through your paypal account) can you view the card transactions within your Paypal Account or only when you click on the link that takes you to Synchrony Bank who services this card…

2. I’m not quite clear as to the Mastercard benefits this card offers…I know it does have extended warranty (doubles it up to 1 year) and Price Protection (if you find the item you purchased at a lower price, they’ll refund the difference)

What i wasn’t sure about was, does it also have: Collision Damage Waiver when you rent a car, Lost Luggage coverage, Stolen or damaged coverage (in case the item purchased is stolen or gets damaged)…

Would appreciate the feedback…and also any comments on whether you like the card…

Ally Bank just jumped the Online Savings Account to 1.45% apy…

American Express High Yield savings went up to 1.45% apy as of today (saw the announcement when i logged into the account)…

Unless this card is set up totally different than the standard card i can tell you for a fact that you don’t get the bonus honors points until the points are redeemed…that is exactly how it worked for me with the standard cash rewards card and i DID get the 75% points booster on all the points i had prior to qualifying for the honors rewards program! I even got it on the bonus points i received for OPENING the credit card account…If i were you, i’d call them to be sure…

I’d get the credit card first then open the Merrill Edge and make sure they link up the BofA side to the Merrill Edge side…

The points you accumulate will get the bonus points from the platinum honors rewards as you redeem them, so wait until AFTER the 3 months to redeem any points accumulated…that way you will get the full benefit on the points you got before you qualified…

I have Platinum Honors with the BofA Cash Rewards Credit Card…so, that’s how i know…lol,
I waited until AFTER i qualified for Honors before cashing out points, at which point (when i did) i got the 75% boost automatically on them…

From what i understand…they check it once a year on the anniversary month that you had it from…ex: i got it officially Nov 2017 so that means i will next be checked Nov 2018…Then, if you don’t currently meet the $100,000 at that point, you get 3 months to get it “up to speed” so to speak, before they would drop your level down…

So, checked once a year at anniversary month and 3 months grace period to meet it before dropping down…

I tried a few more times, with the box first unchecked and then checked…i’d say it helps prevent it going into wild swings up but i am still using more ram then in Chrome even when it is checked…So, i will leave it checked but am hoping it will improve as Firefox Quantum gets updated…

Based on what i observed (with the box checked or unchecked) the difference wasn’t that much for me, so i guess it doesn’t quite solve the problem, but of course, i really appreciated your input!
Hopefully, as the newer versions comes down with improvements, it will get better…I noticed that many others also mentioned about having the problem, so i guess Mozilla must be aware of it…For me, it’s roughly averaging about an extra 500 mb than Google Chrome was for me…Increasing more as the hours go by that i am on it…I’d say Edge Browser was the lightest on memory…

However, Firefox Quantum 57 is FAST, I love the new look and the font and graphics rendering and videos are excellent…so i am staying with it and my default browser! Never thought i’d be switching to Firefox but this is like a whole different browser…

thanks for reporting this. can you try if this change can workaround the performance problem?: go to the firefox menu ≡ > options > privacy & security panel and under permissions check the setting to prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser.

I was mostly a Chrome user, though on windows 10, i was kind of getting use to using Edge, which actually isn’t bad…I tried it about a week ago and took it off the same day…Then i thought about it for a day or two and decided that i should give it another chance…After a few days, i was really enjoying it and decided to make it my default browser! (with Edge as the back up and removed Chrome)…
In the past i didn’t care for firefox but the new interface looks great, it is easy to use and fast as lightening on the speed…I also like the way it renders fonts and graphics and plays you tube videos beautifully, so i am sticking with it…

Only thing is i am finding it is consuming more memory the either Google Chrome or Edge…Anyone else have that problem with Firefox Quantum?

I did some searching online and i noticed that many others have reported it too…so hopefully, it will eventually get fixed…I’d say it is averaging about 700-800 mb more than Chrome on usage, which seems to build up as the hours go by while it is open…

Other than that, i am looking forward to the improvements as they come along…It’s like a whole different Firefox!

Also, there is a little trick you can employ…which is sanctioned by the FDIC and also NCUA to extend the coverage (up to as much as 1,250,000) at the same bank or credit union…
By adding extra beneficiaries…5 to get the maximum…And they can include non profit charities (like aspca, united way, etc)…if your bank/cu allows it…
For example: you could have 2 people beneficiaries in the main savings account…then open up an additional savings or a cd account where you keep a small amount, and stick the non profits in that one…The 5 beneficiaries do not have to be in the same account…There are articles about this online…like this one:

Synchrony Bank’s Online High Yield Savings Account had increased to 1.30% apy on Sept 21st…

I assume you currently running windows 7? Whatever version you use…select the same as your current running…ex: if you are running windows 7 home…select same for 10…if you are running window 7 pro then select that…

I’ll play with it and thanks to all who worked to get me straightened out…I think it will be helpful to others who also probably didn’t know how it works…back to the main discussion…

Is it better to have pagination enable or disabled? And if enabled…how many posts per page?

I unchecked pagination and saved the setting but i am still not seeing page numbers at the bottom…i must be missing something…However, whether pagination is on or off, i just noticed that you can change the page numbers from the very top of the screen…there are up and down arrows, you can type in a particular page number and with the arrows far to the left and right, you can jump to 1st page or last page…

Is that what you were talking about?..didn’t notice it before…i guess i can use that…

I’m kind of confused about this…not familiar with pagination view…how do i make my view display the page list? Do you mean in settings…i am using the default and it has pagination view checked…but i am not seeing page numbers at the bottom of the thread page…

I’m going to be following this thread but i was wondering…over at the defunct FW i was able to go right to the front page (where the chart is) or click on any individual page in the thread (aside from just going to the latest postings) so i was wondering…how do you do that here?

I wasn’t aware of it (that they had offered a buxx card but just did a little research and found that they did…last posting i saw about it was a year ago, so i guess it is no longer available…i don’t see any mention of it on their current website…

If you apply for the combination, no need to order atm card for savings…debit card for checking sent automatically after initial deposit is made…once card is activated…call Customer Service and they will link in Savings to the account…When card is activated, automated system will let you select pin number

Friendly and pretty efficient Customer Service on the phone but only opened Mon thru Friday

Hi All! Just registered…same name as i used on fatwallet forums…I was around the finance section a lot there…Will miss FW a lot but this looks like it has a lot of potential…kind of has a more modernized look over fw which i like a lot
