It’s obviously dying, but Sears has been holding out for how many years now? There are quite a few people at my local Kmart paying cash (and with Kmart gift cards, smartly); so there are some customers out there.
But Sears/Kmart are losing so much money every quarter.
I think what’s happening is that Eddie Lampert genuinely believes he can turn this ship around, or at least delay the iceberg. He already spun off the real estate into Seritage Growth. But these CEO people and hedge fund people are bonafide true believers in their apparent ability.

If you played for one of those coolers on their app some people else where have deduced it may be for that. They just screwed up what notices were sent out.

The amazon gift code was sent by email.
Other posters have speculated it was just an email error due to the changeover from HelloWorld/Eprize to a different prize fulfillment company. Most people said there weren’t any packages showing in fedex delivery manager.

Apparently they sent these out the same time as the NCAA March Madness $10 Visa Prepaid Gift Card contest. I got your email plus the March Madness one.
There is a very slight chance you were one of the nine grand prize winners and got $1,000, but a whole lot of people got that email, so nobody knows for sure.
Plus there’s no actual fedex tracking number…
One big benefit to the new $1.75 price?
The ROGO that was sent via text just took off $1.75 and makes blu-rays $.25. And it seems like the good old days are back because the last few ROGOs they’ve sent out are now just straight up $1.75 off.
