RE: 1/4-1/28 $10 back in rewards when you recycle or shred in Staples store
@mrvietnam said in 1/4-1/28 $10 back in rewards when you recycle or shred in Staples store:
Today’s the last day. Even though not on the qualifying list, I recycled an old memory stick that I got for free from Bank of America years ago (it even had the B of A logo on it) and the cashier accepted it without issue.
On my receipt it says “Other Technology R*.”
The item number is 690307.I got a $10 off $30 coupon that printed, but since it expires today I won’t be using it.
When you check the receipt after you use it, these things don’t expire until 12/31/23. So YMMV on cashier taking it, but they don’t actually expire.
Also in the connect app they had a coupon for free shredding this week, I did the shredding on one account, not to waste an item for recyling. Not sure if it worked, but no $10 off $30 printed for shredding. Guess I’ll find out next month if there is a $10 reward.

RE: Upside promo codes

Previously, I was able to find enough to get ~$1.25 off per gal, which I’ve done 3 times now and can do one more time (across mine and my SO’s account). But I haven’t been able to find any good codes that work and stack lately. The last one I found that gave me an extra 15 cents off is TDU4W. Anyone have any Upside promo codes they can share?
The previous ones I found that worked and stacked might still work for others:
Amex35
Gopuff35
Shoppers35
Lucky7cashOf course they have referrals too where we’d both get money.
Create a thread in the referral forum for the referral stuff

RE: Amazon Subscribe & Save - Anyone else notice the change?
@yoregano said in Amazon Subscribe & Save - Anyone else notice the change?:
For the longest time (years and years), I used S&S mainly to get specific things at a discount and would then cancel the subscription. That is, I’d make sure I found at least five items to get the max 15% discount in a single, collective order on a specified ship date each month but never really used the service as a recurring, regular subscription. Recently, Amazon has changed the way S&S works to close that loophole to prevent cheapskates like me from doing this to get the max discount. Now, when one makes an S&S order, it creates an order that must be placed immediately (and thus with only a 5% discount) while setting up the subscription for future orders at whatever interval is specified. So, one would have to place five individual S&S orders in a single month with the same subscription interval to be able to get the max 15% discount but only on future orders. This, or course, is not necessarily a great way for bargain hunters like myself to get great deals. Oh well, it was fun for the long time it lasted.
You must’ve clicked something wrong. I’ve had it do that a few times maybe on mobile, but afterwards is started working normally. I think they have a new option where you can get it immediately with a 5% discount while adding the S&S, but it’s not required.
I just tried it on an item and it’s working as expected.

S&S orders still working properly for me, but a different glitch remains. I have a gift card balance, and I don’t see a way to use the GC as a default payment. So, when I place the order, I immediately go to order status where it says I have an available GC balance and I can click “apply” to then change the payment method. This is fine—as long as I remember to do this.
During the S&S process there’s supposed to be an option to use the GC balance and it’s set to No by default.
Yes, but there’s still a glitch. This has actually been going on longer than the original problem I had when I first made this thread. I can set gift card balance as my default payment method in my S&S account settings, but it just does not stick. When I try to make an S&S order, it shows one of my linked credit cards as the payment method. If I try to change the payment method on the checkout page (before submitting the order) by clicking “change”, it shows my credit card(s) available as other methods of payment but does not show my gift card balance. So, I go ahead and place the order but then have to go to my order status and it is there that I then can apply my gift card as payment. I suppose I could try deleting all my linked credit cards and see what happens, but anyway.
Not exactly a major issue, but a glitch and annoyance nonetheless.
Just tried placing a S&S order, was signed in to the wrong account, S&S order page looked good, was able to add the additional coupon and use GC.
Switched to the proper account, the order page sucks and nowhere to put in coupon or use GC. Contacted CSR they said they will have a dedicated team look into it and fix within 24-48 hours.
So I went to place a S&S order today and I didn’t have an option to pay with my gift card balance so I did a chat with support and they had to have someone call me. They told me to add the subscription and they updated my payment method to the gift card balance but I can do that but they weren’t understanding that this is an issue. So that was worthless.
Reached out to Amazon a few days later through chat and was told that gcs are no longer an option for S&S
And yet I can change to a gift card on a S&S order after I place it, so that isn’t true at all.
Yea, and I actually figured out a way to apply promo codes too. Go through regular order flow and apply promo code then go back and fo S&S

I have the Delta Amex gold card and my SO is an authorized user. Do I need to remove her as an authorized user before she applies? I tried googling but couldn’t find the answer to this specific scenario.
I would ask them. Based on my experience with banks so far, I don’t think it would be a problem, but I would ask them to be sure, especially since Amex bonus is one per lifetime.

That’s true. One day we may never see our BCC earnings. So you shouldn’t earn more BC from BCCs than you can afford to lose. I bet we will get the money in early January, but the money after that and their ability to pay is anybody’s guess.
