Another backup is your car. A few electric cars can supply current to your house or built-in inverters to give 120V for plugging in, but most of us don’t have those. What most of us can do is to buy a separate inverter to supply 120V to recharge the UPS or other backup battery, and/or use the 12V outlet (formerly called the cigarette lighter), to charge our cell phones with an adapter or run/charge other devices with a USB adapter. If needed for a prolonged time, you may need to run the engine to charge the car battery.

Why me!? My last 3 submissions were initially denied because no rewards available or promotion ended. I contacted their support each time. I got this final payment also. But when I activated the virtual card from the email link, I could not see the full card number in Safari. Chrome did not work also. Finally I tried Microsoft Edge and was able to see everything.

@alanmax Fed will likely raise rates again but methinks it will take some time, perhaps to end of year, for them to get to around 1% or a bit higher. In the meantime, the Marcus CD is earning 1.1% for 10months and it’ll be a good time to look around when it matures.

The policy would “allow Medicare beneficiaries to pick up tests at no cost at the point of sale and without needing to be reimbursed,” the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said on Thursday, adding that it would "be the first time Medicare covered the whole cost of an over-the-counter test.

@dangeruss President Biden ordered insurance companies to reimburse policy holders for up to 8 tests per month (I’m surprised he has that power). Many test kits contain 2 tests, so it would be 4 test kits in that case. Also, take note if this applies to you, Home covid tests are not covered by Medicare and many Medicare Advantage plans.

Years ago I ate at a restaurant on the Shop Small list but refused to accept Amex, so I charged on a different card. Afterwards I called Amex to tell them their list was out of date. The person checked and said the restaurant should have accepted Amex, and credited me the offer. I guessed the restaurant violated the terms of their agreement with Amex.
