Are they really giving away more test kits? Linked article only makes reference to kits being made available on CA (maybe though the government), but not to public at large.

RE: 5% Cash Back on FULL TOTAL (inc tax/tip/alcohol) at 12,000+ restaurants at RAKUTEN by linking credit card to their app, pay with same CCwith that card
@jbw
Also both programs promote usually less popular and independent restaurants that need more business, so don’t expect all your favorites to be featured. -

@jbw
The only catch is you have to rate the restaurants after you dine there to receive rewards. I usually say good food and service and that’s it. I think rakuten might require reviews also, but unsure. -
RE: Regal Cinemas owner Cineworld preparing for bankruptcy (gift card warning)
My biggest regret was being stuck with over $700 in gift cards after souplantation closed permanently during the pandemic. Try to see as many movies at regal. AMC seems to be surviving for now thanks to stock speculators…

@sonofzeus said in 5% Cash Back on FULL TOTAL (inc tax/tip/alcohol) at 12,000+ restaurants at RAKUTEN by linking credit card to their app, pay with same CCwith that card:
Lnk the same card on UPSIDE and stack their >5% back at overlapping restaurants.
This has been around for awhile. This program is similar to neighborhood nosh, who has been giving 5% for years. In fact the list of participating restaurants for rakuten seems almost identical to neighborhood nosh. From my experience these programs know when you are trying to link a card to two rewards programs and will ask you to remove it from the previously linked program.

RE: PayPal Offer: $10 back on $35+ at Philips 66, Conoco, or 76 gas stations (exp 1/31/23)
Tried this at different 76 station, but received only a 10 cent discount to credit $5.49 => $5.39 using PayPal so YMMV. Also you have to go to your PayPal account and activate the offer before hand because it credited my account instantly vs. making a purchase last week that didn’t receive the $10 bonus without activation.

Amex Bluecash Everyday card 3% CASH BACK on U.S. online retail purchases
I received this email today from Amex. It sounds like everyone with this card is eligible, and it seems like a permanent feature. Hard to find 3% for online purchases on a permanent basis. Usually 2% is best. However, I would say that online bill pay is not a purchase. It further states:
There are more ways to earn from the Card you love. You can now access over $250 back every year on services you can use every day, plus earn 3% back on up to $18,000 per year on select purchases. Here’s how:
You will earn a reward of 3% on the first $6,000 of eligible purchases in a calendar year (then 1%) at supermarkets located in the U.S. (superstores, convenience stores, warehouse clubs, and meal-kit delivery services are not considered supermarkets); 3% on the first of $6,000 of U.S. online retail purchases (then 1%), 3% on the first $6,000 of purchases of gasoline at gas stations located in the U.S. (then 1%), (superstores, supermarkets and warehouse clubs that sell gasoline are not considered gas stations); 2% on eligible purchases at select department stores located in the U.S. through 10/31/22.

@mtnagel
Yes, there is no way to scan a QR code outside, so you have to go inside and specify a dollar amount to charge to PayPal. If you over estimate I am not sure how the cashier would refund you with PayPal, so better to estimate just under the amount to fill up.I could probably find an independent gas station cheaper than 76 or Phillips with what I felt was commercial pricing (30 cents cheaper than credit), but if the brand name is important to you, PayPal with discover 5% cash back right now is hard to beat.

@sonofzeus
Thanks for posting this! The finally cashier got the scanner to accept the paypal qr code. At my 76 station it unlocked a lower than cash price for gas. Maybe it is a commercial price. Anyway, I hope to get $10 off + 5% PayPal with discover card discounts at a price similar to the cash price at ARCO.
