I received a 5% eBay bucks offer today, so I feel a little bit better about their decision to essentially scrap the program.

Please post if you receive an instant notification that the $5 bonus has applied just like the small business promotion they did back in August on select AMEX accounts. Sometimes I go to tea shops or bakeries and have a hard time trying to figure out if these qualify as restaurant purchases.

If I remember correctly 30,000 pts = 1 night hotel stay at a decent property.
If that has a retail value of $120, then $5000 spend = $40 hotel credit or < 1% reward per $1 spent. It seems a citi double cash card could do better or are my point conversions bad?

I have to say YMMV only because I don’t know if this is targeted, but why not give it a try if you are a card holder.

Not that it matters now, but I bought mine on eBay. They charged me CA state tax, although eBay tends to charge state tax for everything unless you appeal it for items such as food or property, but it’s a pain.

I bought some discount forever stamps recently online and forgot there is sales tax (10% in CA) that unfortunately shaves the savings margin down vs. buying from the post office or grocery store a lot. If Tanga doesn’t charge sales tax, then great deal.

Just saw this in my account. I wasn’t eligible for the last offer. It pays to have waited. FYI - these usually happen mid week and almost never on the weekend.

I received the email awarding me 10k pts. Thanks. Now I am getting emails to do additional surveys. Are their points worth it? If it is 150 Hilton points for 15 minutes for instance that is like a few cents at most and waste of time. Even $1.50 is not worth it.
