It appears that Kohl’s merely meant the email to be a reminder that there was a promotional gift available, in case the credit card-size paper version went unnoticed…or never arrived via snail mail…
Since the barcodes looked completely different to my untrained eye (filling me with the hope that, not only had I finally scored one, but, I had hit the jackpot with two promotional gifts), I uploaded an image of the generic-looking emailed barcode to a barcode reader, which then translated the bars into letters and numerals.
I then compared the results of the emailed, numberless barcode to the mailed, numbered barcode, only to be disappointed that the two were identical.
If it seems too good to be true…

The credit card sized $10 off $10 promotional gift that I received in the mail with the F&F Sale brochure has a 15-digit numbered barcode on the back that can successfully be added to Wallet and, presumably, be applied to an online purchase, despite the “in-store only” caveat.
The $10 off $10 promotional gift that I received via email this afternoon, however, displays only a generic-looking barcode; moreover, clicking on the barcode does not direct me to a printer-friendly pass, as expected, but, rather, to Kohl’s catalog of 157,782 Black Friday Sale items.
I’ve not seen this kind of promo before and wonder if the barcode is even valid, or simply a ruse to lure me into the
utter chaosstore.Did you get a different set of promo codes, @MisterCheap?

For online purchases, simply enter the applicable code at checkout; in-store, simply show the cashier the pass on your mobile device (or print it out) for scanning.
To determine if a purchase is eligible to earn KC, Kohl’s subtracts department-specific discounts first, followed by $-off site-wide discounts, KC and Y2Y redemptions, and, finally, %-off site-wide discounts.
They also wouldn’t get YTY rewards (I don’t even know what that is or how to use them)?
Yes2You Rewards (Y2Y) is a loyalty program available to all customers – enrollment takes just a few minutes to sign up for free at any cash register.
For every $1 spent at Kohl’s, a Y2Y Point is earned (occasionally, Kohl’s offers triple points for every $1 spent); points accumulate until 100 are reached, at which point, Kohl’s converts the points to a $5 reward, to be spent on anything at Kohl’s during the following month (after which, the reward expires).
If 100 Y2Y Points do not accumulate within one month, they will not be lost, as with many loyalty programs, but will rollover from month to month until 100 points accumulate.
Can the Kohl’s Visa Prepaid cards be spent anywhere, or only at Kohl’s?
As @jmc reported, the Visa cards are generic and can be used anywhere that accepts Visa.
If the last 3 sentences are true, non Kohl’s credit card holders essentially/almost get a buy 3 get 2 free deal ($20 OOP for the first rebate offer or $15 OP for the 2nd rebate offer).
ETA: the OP says the 12-item rebate offer costs about $2 each when you buy three… but the math looks like a total of about $2 for all three (not $2 x 3). Am I missing something?
A purchase of three small appliances would look like this:

Initial OOP cost (not including sales tax): $56.07 for three $21.99 appliances; $50.97 for three 19.99 appliances.

Recoup $36 via three $12 Visa rebates, lowering the OOP cost to $20.07 and $14.97, respectively.

Recoup $15 via Kohl’s Cash (assuming that you were planning on buying something else at Kohl’s, anyway), lowering the OOP to $5.07 and (0.03).

Recoup an additional $2.80 / $2.55 in points toward your next $5 Y2Y Reward (again, assuming that you were planning on buying something else at Kohl’s in the future, once 100 points were reached), bringing the final cost of each to $2.27 + tax for three $21.99 appliances and ($2.58) + tax for three $19.99 appliances.
After sales tax of around $4 (taxed on the initial OOP amount), the adjusted OOP cost is about $1-2 per appliance when three are purchased; if more are purchased, as outlined by @jmc in a related post, the savings could be magnified.
Also, can you use both rebates?
Both rebate forms can be used, as the promotions are independent of one another:
According to the terms of each rebate, there is a Limit of 5 rebates per product per household, which sounds like Kohl’s will, for example, allow rebate #2 to be submitted for 5 waffle makers and 5 slow cookers and 5 large griddles and 5 small griddles and 5 coffee makers (= 25 items, $300 rebate). In that case, the rebate might be issued in the form of a check, instead of as a pre-paid Visa card.
As @MisterCheap confirmed with Discover Deals, certain credit cards offer extra cashback on department store purchases (5% of $56.07 = $2.80; 5% of $50.97 = $2.55), as well as special $-off rewards ($10 off $30); @jmc additionally reported earning cash rewards when purchasing Kohl’s Gift Cards at the grocery store.

But that’s just me.

The official end time for Kohl’s promo codes is midnight CT, as recently indicated and supported by an online countdown clock on Veterans Day (11/10/2017).
Astute observers, however, noticed that, whereas price changes took effect promptly at midnight CT, Kohl’s shopping carts continued to honor those expiring promo codes until midnight PT (an extra 2 hours).
Astute observers also noticed that the countdown clock stopped at -02:00:00, rather than at the expected 00:00:00. Interesting.
That being said, and, recognizing that past events cannot guarantee future results, it would seem prudent to simply place your order before midnight CT, @scgt1, securely utilizing your 40%
Mystery Code and earning Kohl’s Cash (usually, KC earning opportunities accompany Friends & Family events, but I do not know if that is the case this time around – right now, I am only aware of the upcoming $15 Nov 20 - 25 and $10 Nov 30 - Dec 06 KC earning periods).Then, to ensure that you received the most savings, restock your shopping cart with the same items to compare prices after 12:01 a.m. CT.
Should any prices drop after you make your 40% pre-midnight CT purchase, you can always request a price adjustment from customer service (clearance items excepted).
The only drawback to that approach would be that you would lose the 40% savings, as that promotion will have expired.
Unless you have a 2nd 40% off code that is still honored after midnight CT, the most that you would be guaranteed after midnight CT would be 20%, with incoming code FF20; although, it is likely that the expiring 30% code would still work. Kohl’s Cash may or may not be available.

Personally I think it’s a bad idea to be able to delete topics that are created. If someone responds to it, they have invested time in it and it should remain.

good point @moonknight - I’m going to guess that is wise from a content preservation standpoint.
Very good distinction, @mikk1 @fasttimes and @Ma-Barker - would not like a person to purposely delete a thread that had useful content.
My understanding is that we should not delete and purge our own posts and replies, even though we have the capability to do so via the three dots menu, as @elguache pointed out.
Main reasons why, as explained to me by @fivetalents:

Posterity (Content Preservation)
The history of deals is a valuable resource, a rich source of information that allows members to compare current deals with previously-posted deals when considering whether a new deal is worth posting/pursuing, or is even a deal at all (has this item/service ever been priced this low before; is this deal unique to this store, or do other stores offer similar deals; did members like the previous deal by up-voting or commenting on it; did anyone point out anything wrong with the item/service/deal, etc.).
In addition, posts provide a wealth of statistical information, such as how many people viewed the post vs. how many replied or voted (often, numerous lurkers will benefit from a deal but never offer any comments/feedback or show appreciation to the OP for finding such a great deal). -
Censorship
Members don’t like seeing posts and threads disappearing mysteriously: it reeks of censorship/revisionism, and creates an uncomfortable environment.
What would be most helpful for ensuring the integrity and preservation of all posts, while keeping page submissions as current as possible, would be for @dangeRuss to eliminate the delete/purge options from the three dots menu and replace them with the option “Mark this deal as expired”, thereby allowing members to safely archive their own posts and reduce the workload of the moderators.
