@mrvietnam Depends what type of bankruptcy they file for. Chapter 7, 9 or 11. Some are more severe than others.

As we saw with Toys R Us, gift cards remained valid for some time. Hard to say on the points. They may give you a window to spend them or lose them, for those with pending points spread over 3-12 months, if you’re lucky they’ll award them all and tell you to spend them in 30 days or lose them. They may not want further litigation, especially where already awarded points are concerned.

Time will tell, but I certainly wouldn’t be putting forth ANY oop right now to get points related deals. Not to mention, during bankruptcy sales, they typically jack up prices, then start off taking 20% off then increase it as time goes on. sort of a racket.

I highly doubt anyone filing lawsuits over revoked points would have a leg to stand on. When you signed up for SYW part of the terms said that the program can end at anytime for any reason and that points have no monetary value. The best advice I could give anybody is what I’n doing, spending points down and liquidating gift cards as soon as possible. You knew when Sears started giving points in installments that was the beginning of the end.

True, MC. Good point. Never thought of it that way. Would probably go forward as a class action, so you probably eouldn’t Get much back.

With Sears soon closing and Rite Aid +UPs with great deals and no limits long gone and Staples rebates gone ,not sure where the deals to be had will be at going forward.

Sears and Kmart are the same company now, right? I think if one files for bankruptcy, they both will be in bankruptcy.

Maine, that’s a pretty risky strategy as the SYW program could end soon after they file bankruptcy. From what I read on the news bankruptcy could happen as soon as this week.

Luckily I bought my $25 Amazon gift card two days ago and immediately loaded it into my Amazon account. It had the $25 loaded as promised.

The rumors out there is that Sears will file for bankruptcy by Monday. That is the day they owe a massive debt payment, but do not have enough to pay it.

I only have $1.35 left in SYW points and no gift cards/return cards, so I am in a good position. Hope you guys use your points and gift cards before it is too late.

Mine was 5 codes.

For my Coke accounts one was 10 codes, the other two accounts was only 5 codes. The accounts I more recently opened show only 5 codes required. The account I have had opened for years requires 10 codes. I will probably do this, but at Christmastime I won several free popcorns and drinks at AMC from their free entry sweepstakes. Now I just need some decent movies to come out that are worth watching while I am eating my popcorn and drinking my Coke. My son is excited about the latest The Incredibles that is due out later this year.

If I were to do it, I’d probably get a C3 kit just to have a spare battery and charger for my existing C3 stuff. I heard on the news this morning that Sears might start a complete liquidation sale for all remaining stores as early as later this week. They already picked out a liquidator should talks break down, so looks like I better use my $15 coupon the sooner the better.

Maine, I have a question about paying the regular price when buying a sale item.I plan to get some of the clearanced Windex windshield wipers from Sears. It says I have to e-mail my invoice and they will give me back 10% more of the sale price within 30 days. Is this the standard way it is done? I plan to order online and pick up in store. I wish instead of listing what you can’t buy, they would list what you can buy. Home, clothes, appliances, sporting goods, tools/hardware and toys are some that may work. I guess it is pretty easy to find out by just putting items in your cart and seeing if it says you will earn points on the purchase or not. Kmart might also have a different in store offer too. When I go to Kmart I will check and report back if I see one advertised in store.

It depends what your stores have in stock. My main store only has hand soap but I like pencils and clamps so I order the big item from main store and the pencil from a Hometown store. You can order from as many stores as you like.

OT: I’ve been ordering single carpenter pencils as fillers. Pick them up at Hometown Store (franchise). The first time I did it they thought it was someone from Corporate testing their ability to fill online orders. After I picked it and others up I got the reputation as “the person who orders a pencil.” Fast forward 2 years. When recently in the Hometown store to pick something up there were several other orders for pencils-- from other customers.

Any ideas of cheap items at Kmart? I want to use a $5 off $50 coupon at Kmart.com. I am at $49.96. Can anyone think of some cheap items at Kmart that are available either to be shipped or pircked up in store as part of an online order?

EDIT: I found something: Essential Home Bath Tissue (4 rolls) costs $1.00, That is available for in store pickup. That will do the trick.

EDIT2: I found something even cheaper that will give me that needed 4 cents. It is Acme United Wood School Ruler 30 cm that is available for in store pick up and costs only a quarter.

I took the new survey and got $10 in points, expiring 10/31/18, and then I took the old survey and got $10 in Freecash, too (expiring 7/31/18).

I took this survey yesterday and today my account is suspended. I looked over on sd and it is being reported a bunch of SYW accounts are getting suspended and the one thing everyone has in common is they took this survey yesterday (which has now been removed from the website)… I called in and they said to call back in 24 hours and they could give more information. I only have one SYW account and have always only had one account with my real information. I hope I can get my account back as I have done the deals this month where they give you the SYW points over time. I am still owed $80 in points that I am scheduled to get next month and would rather not have to forfeit.

Rumor in another thread is that people were able to do the survey many times and rack up tons of points (I was going to try this but the survey ended by the time I thought of it lol). Those are the ones they were trying to catch, guess they figured shut everyone down until they could work it out.

Edit - many times on the same account, I’m assuming by using private/cognito mode on browser.

I got to keep my $10 as base points. Apparently some SYW rep posted on facebook that people who only took it once get to keep the points, people who took more than once lose them all. I guess if you already spent them you’ll have a -1,000,000,000 point balance or something, I’m assuming most people spent them immediately and picked up in store like with Target.

What does the coupon code SEARSOFF50 get you off? I used befrugal.com and they gave me 10% back at sears.com. I got my son 3 pairs of Dockers pleated blue pants to use as part of a school uniform. The pants were 17.98 each, so after cashback, SYW points, and sales tax, I only ended up paying about $2.xx a pair. Not bad at all.

@mrvietnam Dude, that last instore-offer is crazy! I’m so missing my local Kmart store. You have to marvel how Kmart/Sears has opted for a “self liquidation” method over the classic “hire professional liquidators”. That is, up to the point that stores announce a closing date.

Well, I’m riding the gravy train to the end, Sears and Kmart are doing some really good deals both online and in store lately. Even if your Kmart has closed, you can still do the online only deal.

I’m using some of them to buy Thom McAn men’s sandals for the next several years. They are currently half price until the end of the month. I am also buying some shoes for my wife. I think a lot of the shoes are discounted this month.

I think in general Kmart is having a lot of sales this month. I bought a lot of gardening planters for my wife that were 30% off.

I did the in store deal twice and also the online deal twice both times with in store pick up, but I returned the second online order to the store. Now when I try to place another online order for 100% back in points it diesn’t let me get 100% back in points even though I returned one of the orders that I did earn 100% back.

I like the Kmart deals better than Sears because you get all your points within a month or two and it isn’t spread over a year like it is at Sears.

I got a Kenmore vacuum cleaner earlier this year when they were giving back pts. It was on sale for $199.99, had pretty good reviews. Went through RMN for additional $ back. Vacuum cleaner. My cleaning lady wanted a canister vac. She’d broken my Dyson After the dust settled it cost me about $100 on my gc. I bought replacement parts for the Dyson on Amazon but she’s not allowed to use it any more, lol.

That’s a good idea. I can buy some other tools and then use the $176 in points I get back to buy the vacuum. Good thinking.

I am going to do the $125 back in SYW points over a year’s time on a $125 purchase offer. I want to buy something for $149.99 and I want to use a $20 SYW total purchase coupon to help bring down the price to $130, but the coupon is for $20 off a $150 purchase. I am short one cent in total purchase cost. What do you think is the cheapest thing Sears sells that I can order online with instore pickup?

Thanks, Maine. The liquid soap is $1 and the carpenter’s pencil is 99 cents. The mini clamp is $1.64. A $1 investment will save me $9, Not a bad deal. Now just hoping Sears can stay open for the next 12 months.

I just placed an online order for 4 boxes of 180 ct $19.99 Smartsense 13 gallon kitchen trash bags and I redeemed a $5 off $50 digital coupon and used $8.30 in points to pay. It said I will be getting $60.67 in points back. I also ordered through befruga.com, so I will get 3% back on my order, too, which comes to $2. So all together I paid out 78.13 and will get back $60.67, so I paid $17.46 for 4 180 ct kitchen drawstring trashbags, or $4.37 each.

My ordered is set to be delivered by June 28th.

I made a strategic mistake with this order. I should have ordered only 3 boxes and they would have been $2.33 a box after tax and all discounts, By ordering four boxes, I paid an extra 2.04 a box (so I paid $4.37 a box after tax and all discounts).
Too bad there is no easy way to cancel an online order and re-order. I called and they said I could return it to a Kmart store when I receive it, but that would probably mess things up because if I reordered now there is no guarantee I would receive the bonus points since I got them on the current order. I was a little bit greedy wanting to get the $60.xx in points rather than $50.xx in points, not realizing getting the $50.xx in points was a better price per item deal than getting the $60.xx amount. A few days ago customer service gave me $7 in points to make up for a $7 off $7 apparel coupon that did not show up in my freecash (I got a receipt paper saying it was available to me but when I went to use it the cashier said it wasn’t in my account), so I guess I can offset the $8.16 by that free $7 customer service gave me to make the loss more bearable. Also, the addtional OOP spending gets me very close to my $10 freecash for their spend more, get more monthly program.

Watch your point balance. I redeemed $8.30 in points on my online order, but for some reason it took out $8.30 TWICE. I called customer service and they returned $8.30 to my SYW account. The nice thing about that is it makes those $8.30 have a year validity rather than expiring at the end of this month.

On a side note, I am not sure what triggered me to get $60.xx in points back rather than $50.xx. I used points to bring down the amount as low as I could without the points changing back to $50.xx. There was no in between it was either $50.xx or $60.xx back in points, Three boxes didn’t trigger the $60 in points, only four did.

I recommend whoever has not done this deal yet to do it before 6/30. There is really little to no risk. If you don’t get the points then just return the order to a Kmart store or if you do not live close to a Kmart store you could refuse the order when it arrives. This must be some unadvertised deal, as it is advertised as only getting 25% back, not 100%.

Items were shipped. 100% back earned for the Smart Sense items.

Even though it says you can do this deal in store, I tried it in store and only got the 25% back in points.

The order I placed this morning shipped this afternoon. It looks like they have already credited my account the base points of about 67 cents and the extra 10,000 points. The extra 10,000 points has a 7/31/18 expiration. By extra 10,000 points I mean the difference from getting only 50,000 points and the 60,000 I earned on my order. Hopefully in the morning I will get 50,000 points posted to my SYW account or else I will refuse the packages when they arrive.

Edit: I think I know why I got an extra 10,000 points. With this order I hit the mark needed to earn $10 in points from the Spend more, Get more monthly program.

Edit2: It is bye 10:24 PT. I received the 50,000 points in my account as expected. I got a $7 off $50 coupon on my receipt today, so the next time I shop I will be able to get $57 worth of merchandise for $50.

Good job on finding the $5 back wyb $50 through RMN. I’ll have to remember that for next time. I could have got back three more dollars. Is that $5 back wyb $50 offer a one-time use deal or can you use it over and over?
