@mrvietnam I won 50 pts which I believe is 50¢ and the $10. You might have won $1.50!
I saw the $10 when I checked Surprise Pts or whatever you call it now. $10 off $25 in Clothing exp. Jan.13, $10 off $10 in Sporting Equipment exp. Jan. 9 and something else. -
RE: 100 Forever Stamps $48.75/Costco Membership/$15 off your first offer of $55posted in Expired Deals
@ukedog The last few times I’ve had eBay coupon, eg $15/$75 I’ve gotten 100 stamps for less than face value and a filler like ink cartridges to reach $75. Debating on doing this deal since I still have > 150 stamps.

@briarycliffs I’m not shopping this Sr. Day at all because of work. Not buying much of anything this week in fact.

RE: New Feature: Red Green Rating system is live!!!posted in Announcements
@dangeruss Looking up to the Soylent green? from George and VV reply with image, both of those show same intensity red & green as my last post and your response even though they have +2 ratings. I can’t do screenshot, etc. from work.

RE: New Feature: Red Green Rating system is live!!!posted in Announcements
@dangeruss On the forum page you can see the green bar indicating thread has + rating.
But if a post has e.g. 8 green it just shows up as 8, the green doesn’t light up. Similarly if a post has a net red you know because you see the “-” sign (-1). Any way to make the red/green light up when there’s a rating for a post?
Is there a way to see who voted the green or red? -
RE: No More PLENTI POINTS at Rite Aid in 2018posted in Expired Deals
@mrvietnam I remember you announcing it on FW when #1 was born. If you announced #2 then I missed it-- belated congratulations!
I have to admit that I was wondering why you were buying diapers recently since by my recollection your son should have been toilet trained by now. I wondered if you were re-selling, which would have been new. Now I can quit speculating.

RE: No More PLENTI POINTS at Rite Aid in 2018posted in Expired Deals
@mrvietnam I have 4 cards and a friend has 4 cards. She stopped shopping in 2016 so I shopped 3 of her 4 to gold for 2017. This way if she decides to shop again she has Gold. Could have gotten her 4th to gold as well but just wasn’t feelin’ it. I had about $800 PP going into BF but I’m probably down to ~$500 over 4 cards having bought a lot of gc & Nicorette in the past month.
My stores are probably going to become Wags so I’m looking to cash out-- at a profit of course.

@barrytuneup RA has a lot of “oral care” on clearance right now. Saw Sensodyne. With the SrQ and MQ its a potential MM but only if you’re into playing the game-- which you’re not.

I’m just watching to see what happens. Keep us posted. -
RE: Prepayment of property taxes in 2017posted in Finance
@atikovi The Tax Foundation found that homeowners in these states paid the most in property taxes:
New Jersey - 2.38 percent
Illinois - 2.32 percent
New Hampshire - 2.15 percent
Connecticut - 1.98 percent
Wisconsin - 1.96 percent
Texas - 1.90 percent
Nebraska - 1.84 percent
Michigan - 1.78 percent
Vermont - 1.71 percent
Rhode Island - 1.67 percentIf your tax rate is ~2% you’ll pay $10k in property tax on a $500k home-- so half a million not a million dollar house.

RE: Steps to take in 2017 for the upcoming tax changesposted in Finance
@ritholtz My accountant sent out an email saying we should try to ask escrow company to pay early. Call the escrow company and ask them to accelerate the payment to the Town/City. If the escrow company will not accelerate the payment you can make the payment directly to the Town/City.

@my4mainecoons Yo coons, I clipped the list at $4.80 or under, right now I’m just trying to figure out how to get tables to display correctly in this Markdown-powered forum. So far, not much success!
nice job!

RE: What's Best Option for Paying Dental Bill?posted in Finance
@burgerwars said in What’s Best Option for Paying Dental Bill?:
Earlier this year I started treatment for a dental implant. I had to have a lower tooth pulled for an uncommon condition called internal resorbtion. After what my puny Aetna benefit pays, my out of pocket for this is about $3,000. I don’t contribute anywhere near that to a HSA. I just charged it to my airlines miles card. I might as well get some points from this. Just put your co-pay on the best points or cash back card you have and move on. Pay in full ASAP to avoid finance charges. You won’t be making money from dental work.
My cc only gives me 1% which is why I was going to buy prepaid Visa cards using Chase Ink. 5% back but after fees maybe 2-3% unless Staples runs a rebate on the activation fees. Sounds like no one has a better idea.
