@mistercheap I was looking at the car & auto insurance. I’d be concerned about policies lapsing each year with the membership. Also, how to maintain coverage as identities change. A gap in auto coverage could affect the premium.

RE: ENHANCED 8/21: NEW AARP Membership: $15 one year w/auto renew and free powerbank, get back $12.12 Top Cashback and $8 from Chase Visa Offer (YMMV)posted in Hot Deals
The TCB offer is now $15.15 for one year new subscription ($15) and Chase still has the $8 cash back.
Gift options are a trunk organizer or a power bank. You can also decline the gift but that doesn’t lower the price.
$8.15 MM.
Standard one year membership is $20/yr.
If you really want the membership then the 5 yr plan is the way to go.
The 5 year membership is $79 and TCB cashback is $25.25. After $8 Chase the net is $42.75 for 5 yrs, $8.55/yr. -

RE: Did j4u Rewards change?posted in Grocery & Drugstore
The only problem is that if you drop the cart down below $30 then you have to pay the minimum order fee. So instead of a minimum of $35 for $78 in groceries the least I can pay is $30 for $98 worth of groceries including a Frapuccino.
A different account received a $10/$10 for online orders. Have to spend $30 to avoid the minimum order fee. Considered not using it but found something on sale that I can actually use. After the sale and spending Bonus ended up ~50% off.

Did j4u Rewards change?posted in Grocery & Drugstore
J4u Rewards appear to be reclassified from a discount to a form of payment.
I have a $40/$75 j4u. Built a $75 cart. The system reminds me that I can redeem 1200 points for a $20/$20.In the past when I added a $20/$20 the system required a minimum spend of $20 in addition to the $75 needed for the $40/$75.
This time it seems to be applying the $20/$20 to the $75, not increasing my minimum spend to $95. The Reward is a separate line item. Is this new? I don’t often have Rewards.
I thought that the least I would pay is $35 because of the $40/$75.
I’m also using the $3 SB on a $3 Frapuccino. (Saving my FP $5/$5 for later in the month.)
I wonder if the change means that you can now use Rewards to buy things you can’t buy with a coupon like alcohol, liquid dairy, postage stamps, etc.

@ohsheet I’ve gotten 30 since the program changed. The account was Premier (?) based on spending $1K annually on the old program. I used to make sure to reach $1K even after all the FAR stuff went away. My dad’s and my friend’s accounts initially got 15 (+10) but now only get the 6 that everyone gets.

@mrvietnam I didn’t know if MVC was based on Rewards balance or possibly the amount that I’ve spent on prepaid gift cards. Technically they’re supposed to ask for ID with any Rewards redemption. Once when purchasing on my “friend’s” account I was asked for ID. I’d recycled on the account a few minutes beforehand. I told the cashier that I didn’t have ID because it wasn’t me. The cashier let it go because I’d just recycled on the account and possibly because it wasn’t much money.
I recycle 36 carts/month @500 pts each and was saving for a Dell Latitude. I haven’t used any points other than for the recent “spend $5 earn $5” offer. I bought $9.99 Kcups, used $5 in points and paid $4.99 oop. Earned $5.30 in Rewards because break room is one of my Favorite categories. (Earn 6x points per $1 on Favorites.) I recycle and buy things on my dad’s and on my friend’s accounts. They can only recycle 6 carts/month. I got an under counter refrigerator with Dad’s account and lots of clearance Cottonelle on the other (resold most of it). The friend whose account I’m using recently had a baby so I used her account to send her diapers & baby wipes.

Is it the “huge” Reward balance that makes one a Most Valuable Customer?
That recently started appearing on my account page.
Site says that I’ve spent $60 this year. I used to spend $1K/yr.
Anyone else have more than $1500 in Rewards? 😋Anyone else receive the $5 in points wyb $5 offer? I didn’t understand it so called CS. Recording said that as a MVC I would be at the front of the line. Waited less than 2 minutes.

Not only does CS credit not expire but it has no minimum spend. If you make a purchase <$10 it will use the amount of the purchase and leave the balance in your account for the next time.

RE: Albertson's Family Chains! $10 Grocery Voucher on $50 GC's 10x points on ZIFT GC's digital Q (ends 9/27 for 10x)posted in Expired Deals
I bought 3@$50 Zift cards in 3 back to back transactions and received 3@$10/$10’s. I used different accounts for each one but that shouldn’t matter. I’ve never not received the $/$ even when doing e.g. 4 back to back transactions on the same account, same cashier, same register.
In April the $/$'s didn’t take off any money the first week of the deal. Very odd. There was no problem in March but April glitched. The $/$ must not have been programmed in. It got fixed by week #2 but because of that I use an experienced cashier, not SCO when redeeming for the first time. That way they can manually enter it if it glitches. No issues this cycle. Used a $10/$10 without any problem ~15 minutes after receiving it.

I remember from last time around there is some limit to how many ZIFT cards you can activate per email or per day or something like that. Does anyone remembe? I think it was two cards per email address? Is that per day or what?
2 per day then you get an error message.

RE: Albertson's Family Chains! $10 Grocery Voucher on $50 GC's 10x points on ZIFT GC's digital Q (ends 9/27 for 10x)posted in Expired Deals
@jwblue Yes but look at the Zift Zillions cards. They have multiple merchants on each card. On their website you use the Zift card to buy eGC for one or several of the merchants on the card you bought. e.g. you bought a $50 Zift card that has Staples and Amazon on it. On the Zift site you can get 1@$50 Staples egc, 1@$50 Amazon eGC or 1@$25 Staples and 1@$25 Amazon eGC. I buy Zift cards to get cards that are not part of the promotion or that my store doesn’t carry. Ace cards are part of the promotion but my stores don’t carry them so I bought Zift cards that had Ace on them. Chewy is never included in the offers so I’ve bought Zift with Chewy on it. I “think” people are buying Amazon egc. Buying 3 @$50 Zift cards (clip the 10x offer) will get you 3@$10/$10 q’s (purchase one at a time) and 1500 j4u points redeem for a $20/$20) through tomorrow when the 10x q expires.

@marvomatic I saw a Royal visit where the Downton staff got rid of the Royal kitchen staff. Some went to town and someone got locked in his room at Downton (?). Was that just a preview? Then there was one where Maggie Smith inherited a villa in the south of France while Mary got involved in film making on the Estate. The widow and her son were new characters. I can’t recall what happened other than the Countess died. 😕

PetSmart Perks Free 5K Points ($10) Exp. 9/21 (Today!) YMMVposted in Expired Deals
Last minute but maybe someone can use this.
- PetSmart is giving 5K points to PetPerks accounts, expires today.
- There’s an additional 5K points wyb $40 in cat food and a different offer for dog food. That offer expires next weekend and can be done once a day, L5.
- There’s also a tiered multiplier based on your spending history. Minimal shoppers (like me) earn 2X points, heavier shoppers 3X and their super shoppers get 4X points.
Using Rewards counts as a store discount against your purchase total.
I had $14 in Rewards. Got the free $10. So to receive the 5K for spending $40 needed to spend $40+$14+$10= $64. Ordered BOPUS through TCB. Paid with PS gc purchased on a weekend when Shaw’s had $10/$10 wyb $50 in select gc.The next day when I picked up the BOPUS order I used mq’s from Purina customer service. One was max value $99 😁. I used it on a $69.99 case of food and earned another $5K because they were mq’s not sq. I wouldn’t have received the 2nd 5K if I’d done it all on the same day since the offer limit is once a day.
Today a 2nd (rarely used) account received a reminder about the free $10. Placed a BOPUS order to spend them.

Does the deal have to be redeemed at Safeway or a Safeway family store?
If it is only valid at Safeway stores, would it be possible to buy a $50 E gift card to Safeway as that gift card could be used at any of the Safeway family stores? How would one go about doing that?

I never use the Starbucks offer because the nearest Shaw’s with a SB is 90 miles away.yeah much rather have $5/5 than a starbucks coffee deal which I never use anyway. Remember, many of us paid $49 for Fresh Pass in Nov 24. (1/2 price) this will put me up to $70 total for the year in free $5/5 Q’s total for the $49.
Was it $49 before or after the $10 back from Rakuten?

It doesn’t look like any of the plans are fiber optic but they all have a 5 year price guarantee.
The plans all have the same upload and download speeds so is the difference prioritization? So if it’s a busy time the more expensive plan gets better service?
The most expensive plan includes Hulu & Paramount streaming but otherwise the extras sound like fluff.
I’d appreciate help, thanks! -

@sonofzeus doesn’t it want personal information? I recall looking at it and balking.
I get Rx’s filled at Shaws but the j4u info is in the system. I don’t know which account is getting rx’s filled. If I were to sign up for the wellness program I probably should do it using the account that fills rxs.
Like MisterC, a 10% coupon isn’t worth much.
Because of FreshPass, coupons & clearance items I only spend $15-$20/month at the supermarket in $1-$3 transactions.
An exception is buying for a rebate, e.g. $25 Kelloggs but I wouldn’t use a 10% off on a rebate lest the rebate get denied. -
