I also have a lot of 1032, 9v, AA & AAA from RA. I’ve also got of few of the rechargeables w/charger. A battery tester would be nice but probably not included.

@mrvietnam As many prices end $xx.99, hunt for a cheap filler to get over the next dollar point to maximize point use and minimize tax.

RE: Is digital better than POTS?
@hbg1 Anxiety is expensive 😕.
I’ve considered a Powerwall.
I have a 750VA ups with a dead battery. A new battery or even UPS is cheaper than keeping POTS.
I wish that I could have both until I was less anxious about the digital. -
RE: 🐾PetSmart 30% back from TCB exp. 10/12 3AM EST & 20% off for net 50% off 🐈🐕🐇🐢🐟🐦🐀🐾

RE: Is digital better than POTS?
So if I lose electricity then I lose internet and phone service? I’ve heard of battery back up for fiber. How long does that battery last?
I’ve always felt safer having a landline during power outages. I have ~4 outages a year.
I had DSL and cable with cable being the default. Often I’d find that I was using DSL because the cable had gone down long enough for the DSL to kick in. This was with electricity. Does fiber randomly go down too?
I’ve bought Trac Fones with a year of service and failed to activate the service in time 🙁. I use one for iBotta with WiFi. The battery drains between uses so even if it had phone service it wouldn’t be a good back up plan.

RE: Is digital better than POTS?
@mtnagel I knew I was “special” 😁 but I use email more than a phone so not quite that demographic.
I had a flip phone for many years. Then I changed jobs and over 50% of my hour long commute had spotty if any cell service. I went off the road once and there was no service. A snowplow driver radioed for a tow truck.BUT, should I keep my POTS or switch to a digital line?

RE: 🐾PetSmart 30% back from TCB exp. 10/12 3AM EST & 20% off for net 50% off 🐈🐕🐇🐢🐟🐦🐀🐾
@mistercheap It turned out better than 50% for me. Applied 20% then 35% off for automatic shipping (subscribing).
$125.85 incl tax, dropped to $57.85 after discounts.
Getting back ~$15 from TCB and 5K points ($10).
Net $32.85 not including having paid with discounted gc. -
Is digital better than POTS?
I’m changing my internet from cable to fiber. I can get a digital phone line for $20/mo which is less than my POTS. I like POTS because it works when there’s no electricity. I used to fax from home but no longer. I’m old and change is hard. Please tell me why I should switch.
I can keep my same phone #, can I keep my same landline equipment?
To keep my landline with fiber internet requires tech support and customer service intervention since most people change to digital phone when they change to fiber internet. Made me think I was doing something unusual.
I don’t have a cell phone.
Thanks.

🐾PetSmart 30% back from TCB exp. 10/12 3AM EST & 20% off for net 50% off 🐈🐕🐇🐢🐟🐦🐀🐾
Activate 30% back at TCB and purchase in the next 12 hrs.
Use code SAVE20 valid until 10/17As usual ProPlan, Royal Cabin and Blue Buffalo are excluded from the 20% sale but there’s 5K ($10) points wyb $50 of those brands. Must activate in your account. L1 thru 10/17
So $50 get back $15 from TCB and $10 in points makes it 50% off similar to the SAVE20 items.
I’ll be paying with $25 PetSmart gc that I bought at Shaw’s for net $18 each. -
RE: Expired Amazon Prime $15 Amazon credit when you spend $50, Dawn Powerwash, Garbage Bags, Tissues, Etc | Take Off Now | ExpUnk
I got a combination of Cascade, Dawn & Charmin for $51.84. I wanted to max out P&GGE so didn’t want more than 5 of one brand. I hope it works. The Dawn sold very quickly at yardsale. Based on 2024 sale prices I should make $44 on resale.
$51.84 - $15 P&G rebate - $15 Amazon credit = $21.84
~$20MM as I continue to use up Amazon gc.I previously rolled the $15 Amazon credit by applying it to a subsequent $15 back & P&G rebate DD. There are currently 2 active P&G rebates so I’m hoping we get another DD in a month. Limit one of each P&G rebate.

@my4mainecoons Do the reward points expire?
No they do not.
Technically they do if you don’t use any for 18 months but you’ll probably use some before then.

@mrvietnam Who offered the coupon, the seller or eBay?
Last month they offered them for $87 to someone probably because he was a new customer.
I didn’t get an offer because I’ve bought from them in the past. -

RE: RITE AID *UPDATE* Stock Issues/Black Friday
I wanted Sensodyne. I hadn’t looked at the toothpaste aisle in months and was surprised at how empty it was. As @MISTERCHEAP said, only Sensodyne and not very much of it. I had $10 BC expiring next week. I got 3 Sensodyne @$6.99 SP + NT vit E (BOGO) to reach $30. Paid ~$12-$13 after qs. Received the $10BC wyb $30 and $3 ibotta. Did it again. That gave me 6 of 10 items needed for my $5 Weekend Warrior bonus.

RE: Staples - New Offer STARTS AGAIN April 2025 Recycle 10 ink carts at store get $25 in rewards make sure offer is activated
I recycled 40 ink carts & a tech item in a single transaction and received the correct number of points. I know that it was previously reported that the ink cart counting as tech glitch had been fixed. This was my first time having a cashier entered 40 as my number of ink carts.
I received 30@400 + 10@500 + 1@500 = 17,500. -
RE: Staples - New Offer STARTS AGAIN April 2025 Recycle 10 ink carts at store get $25 in rewards make sure offer is activated
@mrvietnam they only print on tech recycling transactions, not on ink recycling and only 1 a month. You can use them on any account.
Regardless of the date printed they really expire 12-31-24.
I get e-receipts. Since there’s no bar code on the $10/$30 the cashier has to key in the 16 digits. I suggest that I read the number to them. It’s easier for them and they don’t see the expiration date.

RE: $5 OYNO wyb $25 select gc (Lowe's, PetSmart, Instacart) + 4x j4u points; exp. 10/6
@kimi the $5/$25 should be in the weekly circular. One of my stores has a sign on the gc kiosk promoting the 4x points on Saturdays & Sundays. It’s been a regular thing for a while. It isn’t available to activate until after 12AM on Saturdays and disappears on Sunday nights.
OAN, I recently used 8+ small value rebate gc to buy a Chewy gc to earn 4x points. IDK if there’s a register limit on # of gc the register will accept. Some of the gc were $5 Shaw’s eGC from P&GGE so one can still use store gc to buy 3rd party gc.
-
$5 OYNO wyb $25 select gc (Lowe's, PetSmart, Instacart) + 4x j4u points; exp. 10/6
There’s a $5 OYNO wyb $25 in gc.
You earn 4x j4u points on gc purchases on Saturdays & Sundays. Must activate.
Net 24% savings.
Your dates for the $5 may vary but the 4x only works Saturdays & Sundays. -

RE: P&G HOLIDAY SAVINGS Rebate $15visa on $50 runs to 1/12/25see post for details/link
@sonofzeus I haven’t read the T&C but its usually multiple receipts accepted and price after coupons. I think the limit is 10 receipts. Earlier this year I had too many so they told me to put more than 1 in a photo.
IDK what would happen if you paid with Staples Rewards which Staples considers a coupon. P&G considers CVS Extra Bucks (?) a coupon but RA Bonus Cash as cash tender.

RE: Amazon Prime Amazon Brand - Happy Belly Ground Cumin, 16 ounce U $7.78 = $4.29 ExpUnk
@marvomatic Wow, you make a lot of dip. What else is in the dip?
The only thing I use cumin for is Indian food which I don’t make very often.I bought a pound of white pepper last year. It will last for years. I poured some into a spice jar and vacuum sealed the remainder.
