This is a fantastic price. The only warning I can give is that some of the reviews talk about receiving these with… mold. One as recently as mid-September.

Right now, I’m a 3 card guy:

1. American Express Preferred ($75 annual fee) for 6% back on groceries up to $6K in spend annually, 3% on travel
2. Costco Visa (no AF) for 4% on gasoline on $7K(?) annual purchases
3. Citi Double Cash for 2% back on everything else

You can supplement with Discover and Chase Freedom if you want quarterly 5% cash back categories to slice-and-dice a little more.

Thoughts?

May be regional, so YMMV. If you have it, the gas savings is worth 12% ($6 discount). If you also have the Amex Preferred card with 6% cash back, then your final cost is $41 for each $50 restaurant gift card.

I didn’t sign up for the trial. It just took me to the page to buy the Audiobook and the price was $0.00.

Michael Moore’s movies tend to be well rated. And for the same reason.

@mrvietnam If you’re worried, I recommend using eBates in the future. Sure, it’s only 3% vs. 4%, but on $60 we’re talking $0.60. And I’ve had zero problems with getting cash back from them. I’ve heard Mr. Rebates is also good but haven’t used them in a while.

If you decide to go 100% stocks, just know that the maximum (reasonably conservative) decline you can expect at any one point in time is probably around 50%.

Is that likely? Not at all. Is it feasible? Indeed.

People love investing in all stocks until the market turns, they lose 20-25% in value (a VERY real outcome) and then they sell because they “can’t afford to lose any more”.

If you can honestly say you’d hold tight under losing 30% or 35% of the portfolio, have at a 100% stock position.

Otherwise, consider adding a significant dollop of bonds.

I just went to look up the results for Vanguard Healthcare.

Congrats to whoever invested in them for the past 20 years - the annualized return has been a whopping 16%(!!!) over the past 30 years.

The problem is that once everyone realizes this and piles in, it gets much harder to maintain.

The 1 year return is 2 points behind a much-lower risk index.

Vanguard’s fund description:

"For more than 25 years, this actively managed fund has offered investors low-cost exposure to domestic and foreign companies involved in various aspects of the health care industry, such as pharmaceutical firms, medical supply companies, and research firms. Great cheap printers. Generic cartridges can be bought for around $1.25/cartridge. Easy to use. No frills and low featured - perfect for someone who just wants to make a photocopy or print something out once in a while.
